Greetings from Rhode Island. My question is whtat hardware (and how many?) do I need to upgrade to the latest platform which i believe is Sonos 2.I have Sonos one hardware driving Sonos One Speakers. There are 8 outdoor speakers in four locations and 10 indoor speakers in 5 locations. I assume I can use the Sonos one speakers I have with the new Sonos 2 hardware. Many thanks for any insight. Paul
App just gets worse and worse - slowly replacing all my 6 with smart speakers of another brand
Does anybody have a recommendation for purchasing CD quality FLAC files? I’d like a legitimate site as I have no plans of pirating my music.ThxMarty
Three related requests. When selecting a recently played entry that is no longer valid Sonos offers to remove the associated Favorite, it would be good to also remove the recently played entry. As many recently played entries are useless, just a generic name that is of no help, or are something you want to avoid playing/being again a delete option would be good.As above since some entries have generic and useless names, allow us to rename them something useful. I don't need multiple "Top Songs" entries with no clue as to who's top songs shown.
When using connected apps or services the time length of songs/tracks is not shown. Am I missing a toggle in settings to display this or can I make a request to have this information added to UI? Thank you!
I have set up a new Sonos system and I am connected to it. The problem is that I cannot add music services like Spotify and I cannot update my music library. I can pick Spotify to add then I click on “connect to Spotify” then when I click on “Authorize” nothing happens. I restarted everything. I changed my password all the things that are suggested then I called Sonos and they said that this was a known problem and their engineers are working on it. This pertains to the S one app.
HiThe new app gives up too easily looking for the Sonos system on the WiFi and then does not seem to clear the cache or local memory and do some sort of reattempt. The problem is you get scary suggested actions like upgrading the speakers and creating a new system. I know these are incorrect suggestions because if I 'force stop' the android app and try again it ultimately works ... not always after the first retry.Sonos mesh network used to be bullet proof in terms of reliability. I understand the security was not.
The S1 app (and older) had the option on Android to play music "On the device" and I can browse my local files and play them. it went away of course with the abomination that is the current app. Is this option ever going to added back into app? This is very useful when working on a space at my brother's farm that still only supports S1. However it would be nice to use it in other situations when connected to a system other than my own.
my mac blew up ...and i didnt want to do that platform anymore….so i bought a lenovo AIO 3all in one…….i have two sonos 5;s connected to a min sub woofer...i can get spotify to play by selecting in house ...and i can play my radio stations through the sonos app….but how do i get utube to play ...and dose a direct headphone jack from the 5.;s to the lenovo aio 3 ...a line in work ...with the single jack ensuring the two 5;s and the mini sub are grouped
I cannot express in enough words what an absolute piece of garbage system this is with this garbage app. Never have I spent such wasted money on garbage and frustration.
Hello, I am currently facing a challenge in the interplay of MPD’s (Music Player Daemon) audio output as a http stream in my local network and the sonos interface (currently I use tuneIN to listen to a specific (local!) http address, namely the one I set in my MPD config). I successfully got an mp3 Stream up and running with maximal bitrate of 320kHz, using the following mpd config:audio_output { type "httpd" name "mp3audio" encoder "lame" port "8000" bitrate "320" format "44100:16:2"} I now wish to replicate this for flac, but simply settingaudio_output { type "httpd" name "Lossless HTTP Stream" encoder "flac" # or "wav" for uncompressed WAV compression "0" port "8001" # choose a port format "44100:16:2" # 44.1 kHz, 16-bit, 2 channels (stereo)}seems to not yield the expected result, as no audio is played back at all by the system. If one adds a track to an iTunes (‘Music’) playlist on a device running the Sonos App will it update a Sonos ‘Imported Playlist?
I’ve been putting this off since the dreaded upgrade that got rid of my TimeCapsule on Sonos, Ive only been streaming since. I would like to access my local music library again. What are my best options?NAS, if so a good value one; music files are less than 2TBor USB into router - I am planning an upgrade on my broadband so will be flexible with provider that gives best router compatible with a USB/Sonos situation. If this is a good option, advice on a good USB drive/stick. Thanks
I have the sonos ack and when I try to hook my cell phone to it it wants me to resign in as the owner even though I'm signed in is there 2 types ways to sign in
All of a sudden, on my last “update music library” I get that an unexpected error occurred trying to import playlists. The music that was recently added is there. I have tried to read the various posts, but cannot figure out what I should actually do. Never had this problem before, including when there used to be a problem with the new software finding the music on my Mac Studio. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Mixcloud playlist are finally back!!!!!!
I don’t see anywhere on sonos mac os desktop app where i can select pre designed groups. i see it on the ios apps but not the mac os. can you see them on mac os. i can’t even see where i could edit or creat groups on mac os
When trying to play music through my linked Napster account, there have been problems going back to the new app launch. Almost every time when I try playing music from Napster, it will at best play a couple songs without issue. Typically it will either suddenly lose all audio, while the song timer continues to run like the song is still playing, continue to do that on any subsequent song, not play additional songs (with the timer running), or the incredibly common error message saying the connection to Napster has been lost. I've reauthorized the account multiple times, and even though it says it was successfully authorized, the problem is never resolved. Since there are so many problems and shortcomings with the app, and this only started after the new app was released, I hoped it would be resolved as attempts to fix the app were made. After avoiding the use of Napster for several months when using my speaker, I tried again today and received the same lost connection to Napster.
For those who miss Blue Marlin, Ibiza global etc radios The solution I found (from someone else on the net) isBlue Marlin et al will play on the ‘Radio.net’ app. Download it to your advice. Hit play on radio.net. Airstream it to a Sonos device that accepts airplay I have devices that accept airplay (a new five, an arc, etc) and some ones that do not. For those that do not, airplay to a device that does then on sonos, add the room with the Sonos that does not have airplay, to the one that is playing it , in the sonos app. You can turn down the room you want but it is still grouped with the room you do… etc
Let’s start a movement! Let’s put our Sonos products in a dumpster and light it on fire and share the videos. Maybe Sonos will get the idea and start making stuff that works.
We have 10 Sonos speakers and have them grouped for different rooms. However these hardly ever work properly even though we follow instructions and go into groups, create and apply. We ask Alexa to play a certain group and it misses some speakers or adds them on. We are so frustrated with the set up we are considering taking g the whole system out and goingvback to our original system which was Bose
When I discover new music/content on my phone, 1. How to add it to my library, anshow to listen to things over Sonos speakers - that is, stream new music through Sonos speakers/system.? ( content not not listed in the Sonos offerings)?…
I have two houses, each with their own Sonos systems. For a long time, I had a single Music Library (ML) at the primary house, hosted on my Synology NAS. When at my secondary house, I did not have access to that ML, as it seems you have to be on the same LAN. I recently installed a Synology NAS at my secondary house, which replicates the content on the NAS at my primary house. I successfully added a second ML to Sonos from the NAS at the secondary house, but when I try to access content at the secondary house, it seems Sonos tries to get the content from the ML at my primary house and can’t find it. How do I switch between ML’s on separate LANs? Do I have to delete the one on the other LAN, and then re-add it when I switch locations? Or is there a better way?
I have been unable to access Relisten via Sonos for a couple of months now. Works fine on my iOS Relisten app. Any thoughts? Many thanks. (I am on the S1 app with a mix of Sonos products, some not S2 compatible.)
Would be great to have a widget on iOS/iPad that displays the current song playing.
