Hey all, Any idea how to block updates to the Windows Desktop app? Can’t find the answer anywhere. Thank you!!!
I posted issues about the Android app and the non-performance of the web app in the post linked below , unfortunately with no progress yet. Today I just updated the new release, it opens a little quicker now but fails to show many graphics and artwork. Even if you leave it, the images never arrive. Here’s some screen shots showing the issue…. It also says “unable to load content” under Amazon Music….
Morning all. Like the look of the new app and good to see developments. But I see two issues upon first usage, which would be good to get some help with please:Significant delay on opening the app on Android 13 on Sony Xperia 1 III. The page opens and says it’s looking for your system (which is all there) but it takes a good 30 seconds to find it. WIFI is very strong multiple wifi6 sat’s and all up to date. Web Version …. opens and looks good but then says ‘internal error’. Laptop is Win11, fully up to date, brand new and very vanilla high end Dell unit with few apps loaded and all, again, very vanilla run of the mill things … nothing fancy. Screenshot below …. can post one of the Android error as well.Appreciate any help. It’s a new thing and I guess updates are already in the mix to iron out issues. Many thanks
Lately I can’t get customer service on the phone I’ve called three separate day and have waited from 45 minutes to a nearly an hour and 30 minutes and they still doesn’t answer. I’ve used my Pandora Plus with no advertising account on my Sonos for years but lately it’s playing ads and it’s not Pandora
This page relates to the S1 app, and the older S2 app. For instructions on how to use the newest Sonos app (released 7th May 2024, and has a black icon), please visit https://en.community.sonos.com/the-new-sonos-app-229144.Hi!So you’ve bought your first Sonos speaker, plugged it in, downloaded the Sonos app and completed setup. Now what? This is not a comprehensive guide to using the Sonos apps and their features, but an introduction to you as a new Sonos user so you better understand the basics of use, what the differences in apps are, and the beginnings of what the apps can do for your new Sonos system. If you are looking for help in how to use the Sonos app and you don’t find it here, please visit our support pages and search for keywords, or ask a question in our forums - we have a very helpful community.Like all apps, ours have minimum system requirements but unlike others, if these are not met the Sonos app may still be able to run in a limited-compatibility mode whereby it can st
I’m a collector of live music. I have all my music stored in iCloud using Apple Music. After upgrading to the new app and setting Favorites flags on several albums, most of the album art is missing and won’t load.
Existe-t-il une alternative libre, fiable et ergonomique à l'application SONOS sur IOS et MACOS?Is there a free, reliable and ergonomic alternative to the SONOS application on IOS and MACOS?
Where or when will the S2 app for iPhone/iPad be made available for download again? I thought I had dodged a bullet when my iPad didn’t update to the current mess of a version, but somehow it updated the darned app after I set my iPad to not automatically update, so I now have 10 useless speakers in my house. I really don’t give a darn about headphones, either, so I’d like to at least have the S2 app available for download - there’s no reason to not have it available in the Apple AppStore. I don’t appreciate Sonos deliberately bricking my speakers just to sell headphones, and I’m sure I’m not alone. Please put the previous S2 app back up in the AppStore. Pretty please, with sugar on top. Put the f’in app back up.If there will be no access the functional Sonos app, does anyone know of a 3rd party app for iOS that might work until the old app is fixed?
A long time ago I ripped all my CDs in a less desirable format (that still played in Sonos). Now I am re-ripping them in a better format with a higher quality setting. The artist, album, and song titles are still the same. But the file names are different. Is there any way to bulk update my existing playlists or do I have to manually delete and then add every song again?
Can no longer add to, or create, a new playlist. An app ‘update’ is supposed to ENHANCE the user experience and not be regressive and make people dislike your product. PLEASE fix this and admit your error!
What are my options for using Sonos speakers without using the Sonos app?I have an Android phone. I have speakers throughout my house - ones, fives, sub, connect, beam, roam (the only one with BlueTooth). Since the new app “upgrade” I cannot shuffle play my YouTubeMusic library. I can only do that with playlists, which I don’t use much. 95% of my preferred listening is from my library (it’s why I build a library in the first place).I’ve already been highly upset that the Sonos app only accesses “liked” songs from the YTM library (which means I can only play 10% of my library), but now I can only play one song at a time without a shuffle option. My home stereo has been thrown back to the 1990s where I have to play one song or album at a time like I’m using CDs or vinyl.I’m hoping there is a way to play from my YTM app on my phone direct to my Sonos speakers?
Just updated the firmware to 16.2 and now using the latest Sonos app the audio output always wants to default to my Beam in the bedroom, if I select my Era speakers only in the living room then at the bottom of the app it’s still set to the Beam in the bedroom and has changed itself back as well in the output setting.i thought the app update was bad enough but now I can’t control the living room audio via the app :-(
I do like that you have introduced a web app as it makes it easier for me to control my system from more platforms (e.g. Linux). However, I don’t like that the system owner’s Sonos.com account is required to use the web app. I don’t want to give my Sonos.com account credentials to everyone in my household as a) it would essentially be giving them full admin control over the system if they use it with the mobile app and b) means there is greater chance of my Sonos.com account credentials being accidently leaked. Therefore please add in the ability to use the web app without the system owner’s Sonos.com account credentials. I don’t know the best way to achieve this, but here are a couple of options you might want to considerRelease a browser extension to enable the web app to connect to the Sonos system on the local network without signing into any Sonos.com account (like is possible with the mobile apps). Provide ability for system owner to create one or more additional non-admin account
Lots of comment here on how much the new aps are broken and/or dislikedI thought it might be useful to Sonos to get a sense of red line functionality. Functionality that - if not added back or fixed - will cause a user to abandon the product. Everyone will be different and that’s the point of this thread.I am also making the assumption that straight defects (laggy performance, disconnects, devices not found etc.) will be fixed within a reasonable timeframeI’ll start:Playlist/Queue management at least as functional as the last version Custom URLs for streaming radio. I’ve tried and rejected Roon because it didn't support this Local library access, browsing, searching at least as functional as the last versionPlease restrict to redline functionality and avoid venting. I too have spent a lot of money on my system and am less than happy at the moment. But if I cant get the above functionality to work then Sonos is no longer a fit for me
Dear Sonos,How can I revert to the app I was using previously, the one with an Android widget and the basic functionality I rely on?Thank you.
The Sonos app on our two of our S22 phones changed from brown to black. Obviously updated. Since then they are both stuck in a cycle - Check for Update and Sonos is updated. We cannot get past these screens. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times as well as reset the Amp and Move. Notably, the Sonos system can still be controlled by the iPad and laptop. Did they change the app? How do I get past the check for update and updated already screens?
Sonos should roll back the new app right away. This is a ludicrous act of self harm.
The new app doesn’t know where it is when I move from my Home to my Office. It always asks me to log in. Once I do it can’t find my systems. The old one always knew where we were and could always find ALL my products. The new one lost, confused and can only find a few of my sonos speakers. How do I re-install the old app?
Sliders are just gone. Tapping on the speaker icon does nothing
Umm, what you’re suggesting is anything but seamless. 🤦♂️ [bad facepalm emoji]Ya’ know what WOULD be seamless? Enable us to use the wonderfully functional S2 v16.1 side-by-side with the new app, while you [WTF] “reintroduce many features.”
I have two fives grouped together as my line in for my tv. I have a one and symfonisk in two other rooms that are completely separate. When I updated to the new app, it suddenly grouped the all the speakers together under the line in input. It also defaults to those speakers with music rather than defaulting to my paired fives like it has always done with the old app. I have to manually change it every time I open the app and sometimes it doesn’t even work. I’ve had to unplug the other two speakers so the tv doesn’t play in other rooms. I can’t figure out how to get it back to just playing the two fives as line in. I never had a problem with this with the old app.
Where has the alarm function gone? I’ve just upgraded my app and it’s vanished. How am I supposed to get up?
I have a ray and an amp. The amp is hard wired to outdoor speakers. Can i set up the am p and ray to play the same music but with separate volume control
I would like to ask for a precise, step-by-step solution to the following matter, someone should not describe in general terms how to solve the problem. We live together in an apartment with my wife. We bought an ARC+Sub and a Roam. I registered my own username and put all three units into one system. I named ARC+SUB Living Room, and Roam runs as Sonos Roam. The situation I want to solve. I would like to listen to the Rolling Stones on TIDAL on ARC+SUB in the Living room, for example, with my Tidal subscription. My wife and I listen to the Beatles from Spotify on the Sonos Roam in the other room with her Spotify subscription. How can this be solved so that the system does not crash? What does my wife have to do to be able to do this?Does it need a separate registration with Sonos? Please explain to me as if I were a five year old.
Since the update accessing my albums under Spotify always times out, ie. I get the „something went wrong“ notification. Prior to the update this was working fine. Haven’t seen this specific problem with the update.
