Hi up until this morning I was able to control my music volume with my iPhone. I used Deezer and spotify and both have been ok until today. Now I have to physically use the volume on the app. This is very inconvenient. Any ideas.
I'm not a techie person and my Sonos has been hacked - playing someone else music with a scrolling message telling me to subscribe to Pewpiedie and to secure my system: any help???
I recently installed the Sonos Controller on a new HP laptop running Windows 7 - x64. My wife had been previously able to run Sonos on her old Windows 7 desktop. Now, on the new system, the controller launches, but immediately complains of a problem, and exits. I can run the Sonos Controller successfully on my Windows 7 based desktop. Any ideas?
Wouldn't it be nice to use your smartphone with the Sonos App as a microphone to make a short announcement during a party throught your sonos speakers.
I have a new Sonos system. Added my iTunes music library and my wife's from my Windows laptop. Many, but not all of the songs and albums show up in Sonos. Actually none of my wife's made it at all. So I decided to remove the library and start over. This was several hours ago. No libraries show under Music Library Settings, but the songs still show up in the My Music folder. So, I tried selecting "Update Music Library Now" thinking that might kick things into motion. But now I just get an "Updating music library-please wait" message. I've read other helps on this topic and decided to clean out my iTunes music folder of any junk files. I think I got rid of them, but the "updating" continues. Any ideas?
No matter how long I wait, my iOS Sonos app won't move past the initial splash screen. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I've turned wifi on and off (if i start with only cellular, i turn on wifi at the prompt and the app freezes again). etc. Sonos works on my Mac and Windows machine no problem - and I've seen this now across iPhones AND across different Sonos systems. I'm downloading from the AppStore. Latest iOS (12.1.4).
My laptop hasn't been the most reliable lately, and crashes every time it goes to sleep, and I wake it back up. The Sonos Controller was running during one of these incidents. After rebooting my laptop back up, the Sonos Controller no longer works at all. When I try to launch the Sonos Controller, all I get is the splash screen, and it hangs there indefinitely. I've already tried downloading the latest, removing, and installing the latest version of it. I've also tried clearing out the the c:\ProgramData\Sonos* folder structure, but it just gets re-created at launch. Are there any other places where I can "clean out" any remnants of the Sonos Controller, and install it from scratch?
As a user with many Sonos and Apply TV devices, it can make it difficult to decipher between various AirPlay devices in a single room. For example, I have a Sonos Amp in my living room and an Apple TV. Both show up in the AirPlay share menu as "Living Room" with only the icon of an Apple TV vs Speaker as the way to differentiate between the two. It's not an issue for me, but for my wife and guests, it can be confusing. As as workaround, I've renamed by Sonos devices from simple "Room Name" to "Room Name Sonos" and the Apple TV's from "Room Name" to "Room Name TV", but it's ugly/redundant in the actual Sonos Controller app and sometimes I hit the character limit. It would be great to be able to rename the device as it presets itself as an AirPlay receiver. Has anyone else run into this?
I am new to Sonos and have a Connect:Amp and 6 x Play:1 speakers (and a Boost). I have set up the amp and speakers as a group (via the iPad Sonos app) and, just as I wanted, I play my iPod music through the amp's line-in to all the speakers throughout the house. I can adjust individual speaker volumes either on the app or on the speaker, but pressing pause on any speaker causes all speakers to pause. Is this the correct behaviour, and if so, how do I pause just one speaker in the group?
I listen to a lot of podcasts and love the ability to hit a button to rewind 10 seconds to hear something I missed; I also like feature to play something 1/2 time or 1.5 x speed or 2x speed. This replay/fast forward 10 or 15 seconds, as well as the variable speed playback features, are common in most podcast apps, yet absent in Sonos, making me have to choose between using Sonos at home at all versus using these features in the iPhone Podcast app. Is there way to do this? If not consider this a feature request.

I need a remote that works with my Sonos (Beam & 2 Sonos 1)
I understand there is a limit of 65k tracks, or fewer, depending on metadata. I understand Sonos is extremely unlikely to ever overcome this, that the users who are annoyed by this are a small minority, etc. My question is just curiosity (with little practical implication as the limit is unlikely to change): why? I understand the limit has to do with speakers indexing the music collection, but why on Earth do speakers need to index my music? Shouldn't that index reside only on the devices which control the music being played (computer, phone, tablet), rather than on the speakers, too? I see many downsides in storing a copy on the speakers, this limit being one, but I can't see many upsides. Indeed, AFAIK Sonos' competitors do not use this system and do not have this limit.
The speakers are great, but I am not a fan of this software. Anyway to get sonos to work with winamp?
I have just installed a new computer. Moved my music to a new drive. Upon adding the folder to my Sonos controller on the PC I have a "Updating Music Library - Please Wait" message. It's been stuck there for a few hours now. I am on a windows 8.1 desktop computer.

Hi Sonos Gurus, When will we have the ability to utilize the Year tag and play albums by year? Regards Gerald
Until a recent update Sonos would start automatically, when I turned on the TV, put a record on... you name it. Now I have to hit Play in the app all the time - even when turning a record over. Does anyone else have this issue? I have a Connect Box linked to two Play:1s. Thanks
Since upgrading to 9.2 the Sonos app doesn't stay running in the background anymore. Up to 9.2 it has always been there in the notification bar and on the lockscreen, now I have to manually start the app every time I need to do anything with it. It's also a pain in the ass every morning when I want to shut the alarm off. Very frustrating. Anyone knows what has happened?
Sound cuts in and out when playing turntable through Sonos. Have tried changing wireless channel which seems to help temporarily but the problem starts again. Submitted diagnostic. Number 745554617.
I used to be able to access my subscribed podcasts on Google Play through the Sonos Controller. After recent updates, when I go to Google Play -> Podcasts -> Your Podcasts, it shows "No selections are available." However I double checked and if I go to Google Play -> Podcasts -> Your Podcasts, it shows all of them. Is there a bug in the new release? Anyone know how to get them back?
According to my app, I'm on version 10.0 and every time I close it just doesn't close for a minute or so before finally crashing.
I am unable to run the SONOS app on a new Lenovo Tab E10 Android 8.1.0 32Gb. It has installed, it crashes everytime you open the app. I have the SONOS app installed on other tablets no problem and the SONOS system all works fine - I checked on the google play site there are a few comments with similar experiences with this tablet https://www.which.co.uk/reviews/tablets/lenovo-tab-e10 Anyone any clues? Pretty annoyed as we were forced by SONOS updates to ditch the CR100's I used to use - trouble free for many years ....!!
Hi, I never had any issue with true play before, but yesterday I purchased a second play5 gen2 in order to create a surround with my first play5 gen2 and combined with a playbase. After maybe 10 trials I have still the same issue with trueplay. It’s coming up with the following message: cover more of your room, you’re not walking around enough, please walk all around your room, both close to your speaker and further away. Unfortunately I tried walking everywhere, and I tried with both speakers horizontal and vertical. Restarting my iPhone. Can anyone help me please?
