Has Sonos fixed the MLB audio issue for this year?

Best answer by jgatie

It's not theirs to fix. All services develop their own interface to the Sonos app using the Sonos Music Partners API. MLB made some changes to their server side of the equation, and they never updated their Sonos implementation to account for the new changes.

I just spoke with someone from Sonos and confirmed it has not been resolved - and let them know I won't be purchasing any new Sonos products until it is. I also sent an email to MLB expressing my concern. Interesting to hear the post from jgatie above. I would recommend all those concerned reach out to both Sonos and MLB.

Bad news - here is the response I just received from MLB "Thank you for contacting MLB.com

We do apologize for any inconvenience however, MLB.TV will not be available on Sonos devices for the 2019 season. For a full list of supported devices, visit MLB.TV.

If you have any additional questions, please reply to this email or contact Customer Service at 866-800-1275 (US) or 512-434-1542 (International)."

Note: This is not a Sonos problem to fix. This is the MLB trying to control where and how people access them. Sonos happens to be an open platform, for any service to integrate their streams in to.
