Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

Since upgrading to S1 controller I have had a ton of playback issues. Songs skip at random spots. More skipping than playing in entirety. My system was working perfectly well before the upgrade, now it is almost unbearable. Anyone have this happen? Anyone have a solution?
For some reason Desktop app (both the S1 and S2 version [MacOS]) cannot find my Sonos System. When I go through the ‘Connect to existing system’ flow I get a confirmation dialogue saying ‘This Sonos app is now connected to your Sonos system’, but when hitting the Done button, I’m right back at the ‘Sorry, we can’t connect to Sonos...’ NB: On the mobile app everything works just fine. Does anyone know the solution to this?
Ever since updated to Sonos 2 app after Sonos 1 app told me not compatible with my system of 2 Play 1’s and a Beam. App has issues responding when connected, then trying to connect to Sonos or other services. It’s just a wonky piece of junk. Can’t connect to my music on my computers. Just been terrible. I had no issue utilizing music from computers before. Connects maybe 30% of the time to pandora or other services. Delayed response when it is connected. Anyone else feeling my pain? I can’t even get support from Sonos. Just Bots and no returned emails or people answering phones. They claim Twitter is fastest way to get an answer but they don’t support their twitter customer service anymore. I’m reaching out for help from community as I’m ready to ditch Sonos for good. HELP?
Hi There, I’ve read through posts on the topic from 3 years ago and haven’t seen a recent update or post on this. Has Sonos updated their product / App to allow you to connect a single speaker to multiple room profiles? For example, I have a Play:1 in my Office, a Play:1 in my bedroom, and then a Playbar, sub, and two Play:1’s in my living room. I have a profile for my living room, I can make a profile for my office and bedroom, but how can i choose to play music through ALL of these at the same time? I bought these so that they can be connected, and it seems like the only way to do this is to create a profile for the entire house, in which case i would have to either manually mute the speakers in the rooms i don’t want it to play, or delete and recreate my room profiles anytime i wanted to listen to music. Or, Imagine if you have a speaker inside and one outside. There are times when you would want to be able to play on both speakers for guests inside and outside the house, and
Hello. Long time Sonos Fan, we have a number of sonos units all over both homes. In the past we travel between our weekend place and our home in the city, open the app and sonos works ( see all the available zones , ect ). Welcome the new S1 app, now via the IOS app I can only see the zone in our weekend home, even if we are not on that wifi network. Is there a work around ?
I am running SONOS CONTROLLER FOR MAC v.11.1 Under MANAGE, UPDATE MUSIC LIBRARY NOW is greyed out. This has only happened recently. Is there a solution? My system comprises
I’ve got a Sonos Port with audio input from an Apple TV, and output going into an amp and speakers (non-Sonos). I can’t control the volume on the amp remotely. I’d like to have a remote to control the volume on the Sonos Port.I know how to configure an Apple TV remote to control a Sonos Playbar. Is this possible for the Sonos Port?
I wanna buy one, thought I’d better check first though Thanks Glyn
When I select. Set up new system, and then login with an account I created in the browser, the app says: “Network Problem Check your internet connection and make sure all your products are plugged in. If you’re still having a problem, check the system settings on this device to make sure the date and time settings are correct.” Well both the internet and the date/time settings are correct. It’s set to automatically sync the date and time, but I’ve tried it manually as well. I think something is wrong with the app itself because when I go to create an account with any email in general, it claims the email exists - even if I have NEVER used it with sonos
I miss being able to stream baseball to my Sonos speakers. Just grabbed a Move and even more disappointed now. Are there any reasonable work arounds?
Hello, During the last month or so I've been developing an app that lets you stream whatever you are playing on your computer to your Sonos devices. There is a delay so the app isn’t that suitable for movies, Skype calls. The main use case is to enable music not otherwise provided in the official app, e.g. live concerts on YouTube, Twitch and what not. The app is open source and completely free. You can download the app for Windows 10 at budgiestream.com I would love to hear feedback on the app
Does Sonos support Trueplay with the 2020 iPad (7. Generation) and the iPad Air (3. Generation)?
Are the songs on the Hot Country Sonos Station updated daily? If not, how often? How long is the playlist? It seems like I hear the same songs after listening all day. Thank you.
Hello, I am having a lot of problems with the speakers showing up on my device My setup: AMP and Play:1 connected over wifi with an Eero mesh system. In a perfect world I would use Ethernet for all of them but that really isn’t an option. Both of them should have no signal strength issues, and their IPv4s will not change. When I was first setting them up, it was a lot more difficult than it usually is. I would be able to find the device but it wouldn’t connect to the network. After a while of messing with things and a lot of luck, I managed to get both of them connected simultaneously. At which point they worked for a day before I was unable to connect to them through the app. And haven’t gotten it to work since. I have tried several factory resets but nothing seems to get them to work. I can see them to set them up but it just won’t play nice with my network.
So S2 is all white again! where did Dark mode go
I currently run Deezer Elite -- this is an FLAC stream. I was told by an audio salesman that while Sonos runs FLAC the audio you actually get is less than CD quality due to Sonos’ own compression. Is this true? If so, does the broader band of S2 eliminate said compression (or is the improved sound quality only going to be when you upgrade a stream all the way to HD) Would this elimination be immediately audible or do we need to await further updates?
Have this issue since Beta - Passed it on but never fixed before S2. See 3 Photos below. Issue is when App is opened the 1st screen comes on & say “searching”. Stays on for 10 - 15 seconds. Then 2nd screen comes on & says “Not Found” & will stay on until I move mouse or press any key & then 3rd screen comes on which is the actual System. This issues goes back to the Beta Project. I have tried deleting app & rebooting to no avail. I have App on iOS & iPadOS with no problem. Works fine. I hope somebody from Sonos is monitoring this discussion???
Hello have new Sonos move and able to register listen and connect through my phone. when try to find the move throguh other mobile he wasnt able. I tried both create new account and also to find existing device with no success. after download the app on other deviced, how can i connect the move to more then one mobile device?
When I launch on Android phone (working fine with my Play 1 based setup 2 days ago) it says S1 controller is not compatible, and insists I upgrade to S2 controller. The store says S2 is not available in my region (UK) but the text is all chinese or japanese. I’m now stuck in thsi stupid loop. I have reset , uninstalled , reloaded searched for the existing system (rwhich uns fine on my PC) all to no avail. total time wasted so far 4 hours! I have to say that the constant upgrdes and re-loads every time I move between 2 houses has made using Sonos a complete waste of my time - really very disappointed as the system works well when it works - but is less than useless when tghis kind of thing happens. It stopped working on my ipad ages ago and will be thrown out when the final controller tells me its not compatible . Grrrrrr The advice that I can carry on using s1 is of no use if the “you need to update to s2” message wont go away. All and Any help would be appreciated
Hi, Yesterday after a confusing and not straight process,my Sonos system updated to Sonos S2 app. This “new” app, besides having an ugly color it doesn’t work well as the “old” app. I lost the Volume control and preview of songs! Is it possible to roll back to the previous app? No matter that my hardware has been updated? Thanks!
Sonos get your act together. No trueplay except for some Apple products and no android ones. You can’t sort this out? Really? This is a big do not buy Sonos issue. I registered just to say this, do not think it will do any good or even be posted but I feel better having done so. You choose to do this for your own reasons.
This is a workaround, but with a Sonos Beam (or probably an Arc) connected to a smart TV, you can use the Hoopla app on the TV to borrow titles from the library, then stream throughout the house.
Just bought a Google Play audiobook, thought I could play it with Sonos, as I thought it would be part of Google Play (Music library). But now can’t do it. Any suggestions?
Will today’s system updates allow the playing of 24/96 FLAC files? Or do I need to purchase S2 devices?
I moved house over a year ago and have just got around to setting up my beloved Sonos system [2xZP120 Connect:amp and 1x Connect (Get 1)]. My controllers on Mac CPU and iPhones have updated the software and I can no longer link my devices. How can I download the old app (s1 I believe) to control my old devices. Any help would be really appreciated. I am gutted that I cannot use this fab equipment.
