Talk about Sonos S1 and S2 Controller apps for mobile, and the desktop app. This is also the place to talk about partner apps, Airplay, and direct control.

Recently my MacOS Sonos app on my 2019 Macbook Pro can no longer find my Sonos system. Every other device that accesses my home netowrk has zero issues, and this same laptop has connected with the app previously. I have restarted my network, restarted the laptop, and deleted/reinstalled the the MacOS app and it still fails to find the Sonos system 100% of the time. I am not on a VPN or anything like that, just directly connected to the same wifi as every other device in my home. Diagnostic 525267267
Hi!The music streaming service “KKBOX” currently launched high res. music streaming and just would like to know if this work with the SONOS speakers? Hope someone from SONOS can help to advise, thanks!!
Why the trueplay is not YET supported on my iPad Pro 11-inch (2nd génération). It’s unacceptable.
Are there plans to get a widget for controlling the most used speakers in your home? I would love to be able to turn up and down the volume on my playbar from the home screen.
So just got the Roam last week and getting myself set up with Spotify. Thought I would see how the sound was on the Beam under my TV as I hadn’t had music to play on it. Of course, it was louder and definitley sounded more robust. I wonder if i could get some of the same effect if I went to Spotify Premium which IO understand has better music effect. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
i have a sony phone using android version 7. My sonos s2 app (version 12.2.2) is prompting me to download the new version 13.0.01 which I understand is not compatible. I cannot use my app, and i cannot download the new version. What should I do ? is there an older version of the s2 app that I can reinstall so I can still control my system?thanks
I decided to hold off on Sonos S2 upgrade when it was all the rage last year. I was concerned about messing up my system and wanted to see how it was all going before applying the upgrade.I’m unable to find any coverage about what, if anything, it has actually delivered. It implied sweeping changes and delivery of cutting edge concepts, but nearly a year of water under the bridge, there doesn’t seem to be anything new.I was hoping it might restore the ability to play directly off iPhone/iPad devices, which was a huge deterioration in functionality which didn’t seem to affect other brands of smart speakers.if someone could let me know what new functionality I am missing out on with Sonos S2, so I can make an informed decision whether to upgrade or not, that would be great.cheers all
So I noticed the trueplay coming soon list been changed to mainly iphone 12 range and new ipad air!!Ipad pro 2020 missing….does this mean its ready? although ive checked and still not available!! whats going on guys!!!! is it coming lol
If I play Qobuz via AirPlay I can now get Hi-Res quality music, it tells me. If I go through the S2 App to Qobuz it doesn’t tell me if I am getting Hi-Res music - can you tell me if the S2 App is streaming Hi-Res music from Qobuz? Many thanks. John Salmon
I have a Sonos Beam and One SL speaker and would like to connect my ulitmate ears megaboom. Any advise is much appreciated!
Music from Spotify on TV source sound better than Spotify app music source from the Sonos app. (Bass hits harder from tv source) Has anyone noticed this?I just installed the Spotify app on my tv to play music. I have an Arc, surrounds and Sub. I played Anywhere by Rita Ora, and the bass hits so much nicer than if I were to play it from Spotify on the Sonos app. Super noticeable at the 1:06 mark, and 1:48 mark. Now I wished that when I played music through the Sonos app to have it sound like it was from TV source.
I see there have already been numerous threads requesting this, but they’re all closed. So in the spirit of the proverbial squeaky wheel, I’ll start a new one.I have to insist that from a feature / development / technical / indexing perspective, this is neither a complex request, nor even an esoteric one. Just about every and any file management system out there (including those completely unrelated to music) offers the option to sort files by date added. There’s something extremely satisfying for those music listeners who (and there are still very many of them) still purchase music, even if digitally, to be able to buy a new album or three, and then sort those by date acquired/added.I realize that streaming may be the primary way most listeners experience music, but it isn’t the *only* way, and the software still references the music library. Literally every music app/software I’ve ever used has had this feature, until now. As long as you are going to continue to support a local music
Our current situation is that we own two Play 1’s, a Playbar and a Move. Is there a turntable that we can use to stream to our Sonos without having to jack directly into some amp or something?I’ve seen things like “TRNTBL” but not much info on them and that’s about it.We really just want to stream vinyl to our Move.Any ideas? Thanks.
Hi there,This is my first post and I’ve read and did a lot of searching about this. I have a suggestion for Sonos for implementation. I see the need for “native” connectors to be very big. And this can be done easily. First of my setup is :6 Sonos speakers of different kinds. I also have a Windows Desktop PC with the Sonos Desktop Controller on it. Several Philips Hue lights which are bridged with entertainment roomsAm I happy with all this, yes. But to make the home more smart I don’t understand why Sonos can not help make it really smart. My suggestions as my setup is (and which anyone could achieve) even without some of the peripherals I will mention from another manufacturer of computer peripherals. If the Sonos Desktop controller app could also play the music to your local pc then my idea would be like this:Desktop controller app launches music to speakers and local output device (this local output device is the key). Why is it key? With the Razer Synapse application on your comput
Every single time I open the Sonos app to play music, the Playlist section is completely missing from the My Sonos page. All I see is Recently Played and Stations. This has been going on for at least 2 months now. There have been several app updates since this issue started, but none of the updates have fixed this problem. The only way to fix it is to shut down the app and restart it. But that needs to be every single time you want to use the app because the fix is temporary. When I go into Edit My Sonos, these are the only options: How do I fix this?? I swear, this app gets worse and worse with every update.I have never been able to get lock screen controls back after an app update 2 years ago, and no one has ever been able to tell me why I can’t get those controls. I’m using app version 12.2.6
Please let us access to our Spotify's playlists' folders structure in Sonos.I know I can access to my Spotify folders on Spotify and play them on Sonos. But what I can’t do on Spotify is picking a few playlists, drag and drop them in the sonos’ queue and play the songs randomly.Another thing I can do only on Sonos is dragging and dropping some playlists from Spotify and some playlists from my Sonos’ library and play them randomly together. It should be so pleasant to have the confort of browsing through my Spotify folders organisation instead of a mess of all my Spotify playlists unorganised (It’s even not possible to order them alphabeticaly !)Many thanks
How can i connect my phone media to sonos?
In the sorting of playlists, could the app consider any numbers as numerical values, instead of as a strictly alphabetical string?I imported numbered playlists from iTunes but the S2 app orders them like:playlist 1playlist 10playlist 2playlist 3 … edit: I supposed the same question applies to sorting artists, album titles, and songs with numbers in the names, but it’s less of an issue here for me.
Hi,im confused and hope you can help. I’m trying to work out how to achieve the best possible sound output quality through my sonos system using quboz do I have to play qobuz content through the sonos S2 app to get the highest quality sound playback through my sonos system or can I use the qobuz app and stream via chromecast or airplay? the other option I have is to chromecast to my Sony tv and then output the sound through the Arc and sound system... side note but within the sonos app I can’t see what sound quality the playback is playing through qobuz. For all I know I’m playing the CD quality version of an album when there are multiple options . It’s very frustrating !
Just downloaded the new app (June 2020) as requested by Sonos. Despite their email stating: “Just download the new app to your phone or tablet and delete the old one. All your services, favourites, and settings will be saved” I can’t even get the app to find and connect to my Sonos Beam. Anyone else having this issue?
I am trying to play my music that I have uploaded to my iTunes account through my Sonos One speaker. I have Apple Music app on my phone, from which I can access my music library & listen to through phone or earphones. I do not have a monthly subscription to Apple Music, I just use the app to listen to my library. I have installed Sonos app on my iPhone but when I try to add Apple Music it says I have to subscribe to Apple Music? Am I able to listen to my library in my iTunes account on a Sonos speaker or do I have to subscribe to Apple Music too?
I have an older sonos connect amp so can not upgrade to S2 (which in itself is ridulous enough - surely there must be a way to make the S2 app run in a kind of limited S1 mode, but anyway, ok). The issue is the S1 app keeps telling me and all other users that the S2 app is there and we should upgrade. How do I turn off this annoying notification? Can this only be done by the general notification toggle (meaning we won’t get other notifications anymore either?
I picked up an ‘untested’ CR200 - intending to use it with some old S1 speakers.Charges and holds its charge well, but the touch screen isn’t functioning, (at least at the bottom) so I am unable to connect it to my network.Having searched in vain for repair guides etc, I realise this is likely to be a dead end, which is sad because it is in otherwise excellent condition. My only thought now, would be to see if i could use it for a trade-up, but the Ts and Cs indicate it needs to be connected to a system in order to be eligible.is there any way I can connect it to my network/speakers, or anything else I could do with it ?
Hi! I would really love to join the Sonos ecosystem, but I feel like Android is only rudimentarily supported, Sonos advertises Trueplay and AirPlay like two of the main features - but doesn’t provide a similar feature set for Android. Are there any plans to support Android fully in the future?
Whilst removing my Sonos bridge the system told me to upgrade to sonos2, which I did. However that upgrade now does not recognise my play 5. I want to revert to Sonos 1 but seem unable to do so as Sonos 2 keeps coming up every time I try to reinstall Sonos 1. How do I get back to Sonos 1?
