Controllers and Music services

Whilst reading the Flutter 2.0 announcement from Google, it states that Sonos use Flutter to build their apps. With the 2.0 release it means that same app can be deployed to web/windows/mac with no code changes. Do we think that Sonos will release their app on these platforms?

I find it quite annoying that when you select a station or a song or anything from the IOS sonos app (S2) it collapses all categories.To illustrate just search for SomaFM under stations. It will show a few under Sonos Radio (and others too). Expand that section and you will see around 10-15 different ones. Scroll down and select something from the bottom of the list. It plays it but then collapses the whole section so if you want to quickly try another station you have to expand again and scroll.

I am a long time Sonos user (years).  I have changed room config and routers multiple times.  Until now I have never had any significant problems.  Now the app hardly ever connects to all (or sometimes any) of my 4 devices without restarting my phone or the router and / or a long wait.  I am reduced to using my Bluetooth connected speaker and am considering scrapping my Sonos (seriously).  I have fairly recently added a Play1 - the issue seems to have gradually worsened since.  Can anyone help?

I want to opt out of the new S2 download.  The instruction screen says to click learn more and then click continue using S1.  When i click learn more their is no option called S1. Any suggestions 

Hi everyone. I'm using the Sonos app on Android. I simply want my morning alarm to play radio everywhere in my flat. But the group's aren't appearing when I go to set the alarm. I check 'include grouped rooms' but they don't appear. If I go out and come back in, it is unchecked. If I go to groups, the group's I've created aren't in there, but they are if I am playing music?I have a Move (based in one room), a One SL in one room; and a Beam and 2 X One SLs grouped as 'Lounge' for my TV in the living room. So that comes up fine but is more a group for surround sound rather than a bunch of speakers IYKWIM.I have a group called 'Everywhere' but it isn't showing even when grouped rooms' is ticked, and I just want it to play everywhere when I wake up. Not the end of the world but annoying daily...   

This has been asked before, but the answers haven’t addressed the confusion - so here goes:In the app, click My Sonos->Edit. The message on screen says “Long press to rearrange content.”Bearing in mind that long-pressing does *not* allow me to rearrange content, what exactly does that message mean?Supplementary question: By default, stations in My Sonos are listed alphabetically. This does not correspond with how people normally select stations. The names of my favourite stations do not start with “A”. Yes, could rename them but that is a pretty inelegant solution. How about a new feature … perhaps something like “long-press to rearrange content”? Crazy idea?

Up dated to IOS14 yesterday, SI app refused to work. After an hour of doing the turn it on and off again dance, with no joy… in installed the app and reinstalled it.The app then asked permission to connect to Wif and Bluetooth- system is now up and running.

Hi, I tried to add a new Sonos One SL to my system last night using my Sonos S1 app, but it stalled. I eventually deleted that speaker, realising it must have shipped with the S2 operating system unlike my previous One SL.However, the Sonos S1 apps I have running everywhere now refuse to start up. As soon as they start, I get a message saying I need the S2 app. There is no other option to ignore this.I only have S1 devices on my system. I have 2 Sonos Connects & 1 Sonos One SL - all on S1. (My new One SL on S2 is not connected yet.) I can’t update these to S2 because the fixed in-wall Crestron screen won’t run the S2 controller. Apparently, the Crestron devices run an old Android system & Sonos has said they won’t make their S2 app work with these any longer. The Crestron can’t be updated from Crestron OS 2 because Crestron OS 3 doesn’t support the Philips Dynalite systems in the building. So, bottom line. I’m stuck with Sonos S1.So, how do I get my apps

When my Play:1 switched to a loud, obnoxious song I wanted to skip, I was not able to do it because my iPad’s S1 app insisted I input my Sonos password to confirm I wanted to continue to use S1, else it would “upgrade” me to S2.  I picked up my Android phone and got the same message.  I climbed up on a chair to reach the play/pause button on my speaker, then relaxed enough to look up the Sonos password, which I had not used in many months, and was able to preserve my S1 system.  I am very disappointed in the Sonos effort to blackmail users into switching to the inferior S2 software.  Whenever I look up the S2 app on the Play or Apple stores, the first several pages of reviews are always the same - it does not work, the app constantly loses the speakers and the users have to spend time troubleshooting, with no useful help from Sonos, instead of listening to music.  For those of us who are happy with our S1 systems, why can’t you just leave us alone and let us use

Before Rogan went to Spotify I could stream his podcast through Stitcher. Now, Stitcher doesn’t work at all and even though I can stream Rogan directly through Spotify, his podcast doesn’t show up when I search for it in Spotify on Sonos. Is it not licensed for Canada, for Sonos? Thx.

Hi!I’m looking for advice on how to play CDs through my Sonos speakers without spending a fortune on a Sonos Port or Amp. I currently have a Sonos One Gen 2 and an IKEA Symfonisk, none of which have line-in. I’ve also ordered the Sonos Roam, which also doesn’t have line-in, but apparently has bluetooth. So, could I:Get a portable CD player with bluetooth and connect that to the Sonos Roam via bluetooth? Would that only play on the Roam then and not the whole system? If I get an Apple Optical Drive, could I then connect it to my Macbook and send it to the speakers via Airplay 2?Any other options?Grateful for any advice! 

Hello!I am considering a Sonos One SL to replace my Hitachi W200. One thing I am confused about is, if i am playing music from Apple Music to the Sonos, will it only play the music and not other things on my phone? For example, I can play Spotify to the W200 and if I play a Youtube video, or a game that has sound, those other sounds do not play on the W200 (which is the way I want it). The Hitachi has great sound but will not work with Apple Music over WiFi, I would have to switch to BT which would play the sounds I do not want. Will the Sonos work like the W200 does in WiFi?  

I recently installed an iPad wall mount for controlling my Sonos system and smart home devices. In order to easily control both Sonos & Apple Home without switching screens, I’ve setup the two apps in split screen mode: This works really nicely, however, every time the Sonos app runs an update, the layout of the now playing view on the Sonos app gets squished to look like this (red border added): In order to fix it I have to remove the app from split screen mode and then re-add it. A minor annoyance, but I’m finding this is happening about once a week, and the idea with this wall mount is that I don’t have to fuss with anything and “it just works”. So I’m posting here ho

I just upgraded my controller to 12.2.2 (OS S2) and the iPhone app is now super slow, and sometimes freezes, any ideas or fixes out there?App tells me it’s also 12.2.2.I have done all the usual, reboots, resets etc - no changes. Other iPhones are also slow, also does not mater what source i am trying to play !!any ideas? And Happy New Year !!!!  

Hi everyone,I was very excited to hear that Qobuz now supports Hi-Res streaming on Sonos S2 devices. However my excitement rapidly changed to dissapointment I realised that most of Qobuz’s catalogue is higher than the 24-bit/48 kHz which Sonos supports. Anything higher is played 16-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC which defeats the purpose. I have asked Qobuz if they could make their entire catalogue of Hi-res available in 24-bit/48 kHz but it is  a big ask and I don’t hold that much hope that it will happen. I wonder what the community thinks about this.Thanks 

Hi everyone, I am a developer and Im building a .NET app in order to play music from Sonos ZP100 using Spotify. Or alternatively with music plugged into an USB. I tried using the UPnP protocol but it doesn seem to be the right way to reproduce songs. I am only able to play pause stop seek next previous and volume controls but nothing else. Do somebody know how to do something similar?The perfect example is the SONOS S1 app that after linking spotify account can reproduce songs

It would be great to have the connection in the SONOS app to Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE’s app YLE Areena. This way we could listen to all the national broadcasting company’s radio channels plus all their audio material. https://areena.yle.fi/audio So far the YLE channels have been broadcasted via MyTuner radio, but now it has stopped working with Sonos for some reason.

I have 10,000 songs on my mp3 player, what's the easiest way to play these on my Sonos beam and One SL? Can I put them on the app or cloud to play through the app? Cheers! 

Since you can’t choose the order that your streaming services are listed, the next best alternative is to just go to the Browse page where they are listed and then hit the star icon at the bottom of the page. That’ll take you to My Sonos where your most Recently Played places are. I listen to SiriusXM a lot and so it’ll show the channels that I’ve recently listened to. 

I've used the method of coping and pasting the URL into the area where you can add a radio station and yes, it adds the station. Unfortunately when it comes to playing that station an error message appears. Unable to play Radio RUAR  - ‘this song is not encoded correctly’ any ideas please?

Hi, I have been a Sonos system owner for many years. The question I have is:When using either the subscribed Spotify or Pandora app on my iPad how do I replay the current track?When I use the Sonos app on my Android phone, I can replay the track?Can someone help with this please?Thank you, Sean 

What’s is going on with this horrible red box that’s suddenly appeared?!  Is Sonos intentionally degrading their S1 app to piss off their already disenfranchised legacy-owning customers?!! 

Hi, probably an answered question but I can’t find the solution. I mainly listen to Sonos via my computer where I have a ton of saved playlists. If I open the phone app, there are zero saved anything. Thoughts?Thank you.

I had started using the Sonos Alarm feature.It never worked properly as often the Sono beep was playing instead of a song, sometimes the controls from the notified were not working unless I was first opening the Sonos App etc... Despite this it was at least somewhat working even if this is not the experiences you'd expect from a product like Sonos that it is not famous for being cheap.The newest issue, however, is that apparently after some updates the notifications on lock screen and on the main screen are completely gone. It is not possible to snooze or dismiss the alar. Anymore. The only notification present displays the Sonos controls as if I was simply playing music (play, pause, next, etc...) Android 11, Pixel5, App 13.03 build 62187260 

Hi all.  I have a Sonos One and I assumed I could pair it with my Win10 laptop but I can’t see anything in the app to help me pair it.  My laptop can see it in Bluetooth but I can’t connect.  Any advice?
