Hi all - thanks in advance for any help!I have two Sonos Fives in my living room, set up as a stereo pair. They play music wirelessly just fine, working as a stereo pair. The right-hand one also has a line-in connected. It connects to a CD/DVD player (it’s an OPPO BDP-103EU BDP-103EU Blu-ray player, in case that’s relevant). The line-in connects to the back socket of the right-hand Sonos Five, and runs down and splits into the red and white inputs to the player. When I play CDs from the player, the two Sonos Fives work fine as a stereo pair, with both playing fine. But when I play DVDs from the player, the stereo sound does not work: it seems to me that only the left-hand Sonos Five seems to work, and the right-hand one (i.e. the one that receives the line-in) is not playing any sound, so that e.g. some dialogue from the film is not played, or e.g. the instrumental parts of film songs play but not the vocal parts of those songs.Because the line-in seems to work fine when I play CDs via
HelloI’d like to wall mount a stereo pair of Play:5s. I live in a Victorian terrace, which has (I think) a single brick wall separating my house from next door. This is the best wall to mount the speakers on, but I’m a little concerned about sound affecting/annoying my neighbours. Has anybody got experience of this - is it an issue? I’m encouraged by the fact that there’s no bass port at the back - does this mean that almost all sound is projected forward?
I lost the Rooms that show the patio speakers
The new update for the Sonos app sucks! The old one worked just fine. Can’t believe someone would actually think this is an improvement. Feels like you went backwards 10 years! Why would you do this? The app/user interface is the primary user facing point of contact with the people paying for your product and you completely screwed it up! What were you thinking????
Sonos fam - I’m enjoying the Sonos multi room experience and recently added turntable to the Sonos Amp. Highly recommended!our family is gonna build a new home and I’m eyeing Sonance in ceiling speakers in a Sonos amp. We have a brick fireplace and I don’t wanna post a soundbar on it. Was hoping I could just group the Sonance with some ERA 300’s, then run HDMI from the Amp to the TV. Can I pair those Era’s as a center channel? i know it won’t be atmos but have prioritized music over home theater. Welcome your input. thx!!
So I just got Sonos port I’m trying to connect it to the app But it keeps giving me error 1002 I can find the product and I enter the pin and everything and it connects to the app and I see it pop up on my network with an IP address, but as soon as the port says it needs to update It says update failed and kicks it off the app so I can’t view it anymore and it won’t connect unless I factory reset it After I reset it, I try to connect it again, but the same issue keeps happening I think it has something to do with the new update, but I’m not sure. Has anyone had this problem after the update and if so, does anyone know how to fix it?
I recently had outdoor speakers installed professionally. I have the TP-Link Deco XE75 AXE4500 Mesh network. The speakers run off of a Sonos Amp. I have tried to connect the amp to the Wifi, and the person who installed the system has also tried it. Neither of us have been able to get it to work. I have even hard-wired the amp to see if that works. The tech who installed it had an Eero router, which connected immediately with no issue. Are there connectivity issues with TP-Link routers? Has anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it?
When I look at “About Your System” the Boost is shown on the Mac app but not the iPhone app. Does anybody know why?
I have tried to connect to wifi several times and it won’t connect
I have Sonos in-celing speakers in different rooms of my house and was curious as to whether having more speakers in use means that I am also using more electricity or whether it makes no difference.
Hi all, first post!I have been using a sonos connect amp for streaming music to my outdoor pool area with wired speakers. The sonos connect amp has no rca outputs. I want to know if I can get a sonos port to use the rca line outs to my house stereo system, and have it play the same music stream in sync with the sonos connect amp that is driving my wired pool area speakers.Sorry for the complicated question. Thank you in advance if anyone knows!JLHayes
Hey, Does optical (toslink) not qualify as a line-in input? Doesn't show on my Sonos Connect settings even though its connected. Cheers
How do I setup up my amp to the WiFi ?
Why not release the S2 app again and cll the new app S3 so we all can ignore that one till it is finally working?I still cannot properly use the new app from my phone and it looks I am not the only one.You do want us to spend 500USD for a headphone but you refuse to have a propr app on the market? For me something I do not understand and ceryainly will not do.Please work as a normal sofware devloper , with version releases. Nothing new but apparently not obvious to your development group. You need some one new to head that department, someone who understands the basic principles!
Hello everybody,This is my last attempt to keep my Sonos hardware before throwing them into the nearest trash.I have 2 Sonos Connect, each one is connected to an old amp (1968 for one, 1986 for the other one), and the amps to mechanical loudspeakers. As I see the Sonos products evolving, my installation will not last so long. It is already the beginning of the end, with [as explained by the Sonos Support team] the removal of the local music library (please don’t answer that there is an issue with SMB1, this is not my case). The local library is supposed to come back one day, but I cannot suffer to be at the mercy of the updates that are more and more disconnected with my needs. I mean… Not the needs that the Product Management pretends I have, but the needs that I do really have.So I am wondering if there could be a way to make my Sonos system private. I would like to avoid any kind of software update, neither at the Sonos Connect level nor the application, and of course to avoid the app
Another just reference point. Bought an amp for my outdoor speakers. Sonos does not include their custom banana plugs in the box with the amp. They provide you with a 3 foot long cord with banana plugs on both ends? Completely useless. Again compared to Bose experience, that had all kinds of plugs to help with the project. Again, not very consumer freindly. Just paid $19 more for the bananna plugs and $25 to over night them. Just waiting for the next problem!
How do I get a return to the S1 app after being auto upgraded to the new app? The new app has many dead zones and does not respond well to the Connect One that controls the whole home system. The new app sucks with my equipment that has worked great for 8 years. I do not want to spend $1000 to buy new hardware when what I have has worked so well. What are my options to go back to the old system app?
Recently acquired a SONOS Port and Audio Technica turntable. When connecting my turntable to my Port and streaming through my Play:1s and Beam, the audio is frequently choppy. The Play:1s and Beam are fine when streaming from Spotify (or connected to my TV). Is there a setting I need to adjust for the Port?
Hi Everyone,Just bought Sonos In Celing Speakers with Amp.Upon setting up got Error 1101, I have tried to unplug turn on and off both amp and router and factory reset router. Seems that Amp cant get the update.Any other ideas?
I still can’t get all my Sonos playlists on the latest version of the Sonos App
Just got me a Starlink dish and router. Now unable to get my Sonos Port to connect. Apparently Sonos isn’t compatible with Satellite routers. Help.
hi we have a very large open planned kitchen/ living area. we also have 11ft ceilings. we were thinking 6 speakers but unsure of the 6 or 8inch ones? also how far from the corner walls should we go. above is the plans of our kitchen. I hope someone could help. Thanking you
HelloI’ve been gifted a Sonos Port years ago but never installed it because I had no amp.Now I do so I decided to install it. Everything went through, but some minutes after (10 or 120, no clue) I realized the Port was just off (no LED). Factory reset does not do anything since it does not even turn on. I’ve tried with another power supply to no avail. It was never used before so I can’t understand what’s wrong, it’s like connecting to WiFi bricked it or that it got bricked during the final setup steps.Sonos support is unreachable (they say 90m wait over the phone?! the chat is stuck at a random number in the queue). I am a bit out of option, how can I investigate and finally use it?Thanks!
As a Pro level home AV integrator, I am getting flooded with customers who now have lost, settings, playlists, and what was working well, now is forcing customers and myself to either Upgrade the iOS and Device or Operating system itself, or get a new device that can be upgraded with a newer OS so that the New 80 version can be used!! Are you freaking kidding me! So, as a Pro integrator, ALL of my new builds will now be using the WiiM streamers and Amps! High Res Audio. Software should ALWAYS be backward compatible!! Always! This way you are not forcing anything. The user might lose a few new features, but their system will work as it always has. And I can live without getting slapped again by a simple Audio streaming platform. Plus I have found the new WiiM home streamers to sound incredible. I am not a WiiM employee or am associated with the company in ANY level, I build from scratch multimillion dollar custom homes from Pre-wire, to full networking and AV. and going forward, I’m p
My speakers are from Orb Audio, and they recommend a crossover setting of 150 Hz. The SONOS app only allows me to set the crossover as high as 100 Hz. Is there any way to bypass this setting? Or, while you guys are actively modifying the app, could you please extend the available crossover range?
