I have 9 pairs of Tru Audio Ghost speakers in-ceiling throughout the house connected to a Russound Pro 12HP speaker selector switch and driven as Zone 2 from a Denon 4520 CI Receiver. i’d like to connect a Sonos port to the new Sonos Amp and connect to the Russound switch instead of the Denon receiver. Does anyone know, or have an informed opinion, as to whether the new Sonos Amp would be able to drive all 9 pairs simultaneously? I like the ease of the Sonos interface relative to the Denon and can get all the content I want from Sonos enabled sources.

I have a new sonos port and I want to conect to my imac with Focusrite Scarlet 2i2, but there isn´t sound in my another sonos. Someone know if it is possible?

I’ve been trying this setup, turntable via phono box s via sonos connect , sonos connect with  rca cable to each beolab 4000 , speakers set on line  There will be only sound from one speaker, when i switch cables it’s the other speaker. Same problem with any source (pc , iPhone),  only when i play spotify both speakers will play. I have tried with two different sonos connect, with two beolab 4000 and one beolab 6000, with different rca cables, same problem  

I currently have a “traditional” home theater setup.  I have an AppleTV that sends both video and audio to my TV via HDMI.  I have the TV send out the audio to my A/V receiver.  The A/V receiver then sends out the audio to my 5.1 speaker setup (wired Front, Center, Left, rears, subwoofer).  Since my A/V receiver is basically acting only as a amp to drive the speakers (and controlling the 5.1 output), I was wondering if I can replace the A/V receiver with a Sonos amp or the like?  From what I have read, it does not seem to be.  If I connect the surround sound speakers, the subwoofer won’t work.  Along with a bunch of other reasons, correct? Basically, is there anyway to keep my set up of wired 5.1 home theater system and connect it to my sonos system (which is currently just a Sonos Move, but will expand)? 

My sound quality is terrible when using by new Pro Ject T1 turntable through my Play 5. There are two problems: The volume is strangely low. After reading other posts, I adjusted the audio compression to “uncompressed” and I increased the source level. That helped only a bit with volume; it is still too low. The sound quality is very poor. It sounds tinny, slight echo, almost as if in a chamber, and it emphasizes layer of the tracks it shouldn’t, making the songs almost unrecognizable in parts. I am using the RCA to stereo 3.5 cable provided by Sonos.

I currently have my record player connected up to the Sonos Amp and wired speakers off the amp. It is in the same open space as the TV and I'm looking for a way to listen to my record through headphones. Is there a way to use Bluetooth or wired headphones with the Amp?

I have just removed a Boost from my system and replaced with a wired Arc, all of which works fine. However, I don’t appear to be able to remove the Boost from the list of products (under ‘System’ in the app).  Can anyone advise how this can be done? Thanks.

Hi all, hoping to som help.  I am a Newby so learning as I go here.   I have read the other post and they don’t seem to apply to me.   Just unboxed my pro-ject T1 SB, plugged in the R/W cable into the back of the turntable and then connected to the 3.5 converter into the back of my Play 5.  I have made sure all settings were set exactly to instructions.  When I play an album and connect to Line in I hear nothing but a buzz from the Play 5.     I do not get music from the turntable.  What am I doing wrong?   Thank you,   Greg

I’ve failed to add my Sonos Port devices to my Logitech Harmony Elite. The Logitech app finds the Port devices on the network, but then gives an error saying “D1000: Failed to save your device information to the server.” Has anyone had succes adding a Port to their Logitech Harmony remote?

I have existing wired surround sound including a front center that is imbedded into my fireplace (5 speakers total plus wired sub). I have three Sonos amps to power all of them (and some outdoor speakers) using the ARC HDMI input as suggested/required. I don’t always love the way the voice can get a bit dampened and hard to hear due to the background noise or music with this set up. However, I LOVE when it plays music with this set up. I have considered getting the Arc sound bar for better voice quality and because my TV mount has an empty place for it and looks funny without one. My questions are: Will all of this work together or will it be an either/or scenario? If it all will work together, is this going to be massive overkill or will it sound great? I am not so much worried about cost (spending $$ for the ARC beam, I mean), as I already have a lot invested and just want the best option. What is the need for a sonos bridge

Hello.   I have the Sonos AMP and i just ordered the sonos arr and the subwoofer.   Quick question. Can I have all these systems together? turn on my tv on a HDMI Input (Applte TV) and be able to listen the in ceiling speakers with subwoofer and the arc soundbar? IF YES,   Do i need to run the HDMI from the soundbar to the TV? or a HDMI from the AMP to the ARC tv port on the tv? I am new to sonos and i really get confused with this info.     THanks  

As someone who uses a Connect to stream music to a much higher quality DAC and amplifier, I’m wondering whether there are any plans (or indeed any demand) for an S2 version of the Connect?

Hi All Have a Sonos amp connected to ceiling speakers in kitchen and just purchased a pair of outdoor speakers which will be hooked up to the amp this weekend. As the volume control will affect all four speakers, is there any sort of separate control I can put in so can adjust independently.  Idea being that in the garden i may want the volume louder than in the kitchen and vice versa. I know can get wall mounted controls but not sure how good they are or what to look out for as do not want to compromise sound quality   Welcome any suggestions and specific items to look for   Thanks in advance    

Hi everyone and thanks for reading my question.  I use the Beam speaker for my TV, works a treat. Next to my telly I have two large speakers powered my Cambridge amp, I used to use them for music and also for listening to audio from the tv. Im thinking of purchasing the Sonos Port to hook my old (but lovely) stereo into my existing Sonos system. My question is if I use the Beam when watching tv, will I be able to listen also with my Port connected stereo at the same time, or will there be a lag between the two? Id like to improve the TV audio experience using both the beam and my port connected stereo. Also one other thing, what's the DAC like on the Sonos Port? is it worth running with an additional external DAC? I currently have a Cambridge DAC Magic unit and wondered if the Sonos Port would make it redundant.. Any answers or thoughts would be greatly appreciated, many thsnks Anthony  

Hi, I have an old Sonos Connect (gen 1) which has been unused for a couple of years. Some days ago I got the idea to connect to a small amplifier and use it with speakers on the patio (Sonos+Amplifier indoors) and speakers under roof outdoors, wire connected through a window. Everything worked fantastic until yesterday when the Sonos Connect disappeared from the app. When analysing, it seemed as the power cable was loose. I reconnected, but no lights, and the network lights on the back just flickered quickly.  I let it over night and today it was a fast flashing red light. Have tried to reset several times, reconnect with network cable etc. Is there anything left to do, or should I give up? Thanks, Per

Hi All, I currently have the Sonos Beam and 2x Play:1 acting as rear speakers with a Sonos Connect driving an active sub for 5.1 sound. System works well for movies, but our room has now changed.   Can I remove the PLAY:1's and replace with a Sonos Connect:AMP to act as rear sound with the beam? Configuration would be: Beam (Front Left & Right) Connect:AMP - (with 2x Rear ceiling speakers) Connect - Driving Active sub One thing I have notice with my current setup is that I must control the volume via the app to have both the Beam with rear (Play:1’s) and sub work together (grouping). If I control the volume via the TV, the Beam with rears will change while the sub volume doesn't alter. Will this happen if I move to the above setup (Connect:AMP driving rear sound)?   Also if I was to replace the Beam with the new ARC will the above still be doable? Cheers Wayne

How do I find out if my connect and connect amp are gen 1 or gen 2

I know that I can continue to use my ZonePlayer once it’s been put into recycle mode. My question is: I’d like to give it to my brother in law to try out Sonos by connecting it to his existing stereo - would this work for him? If he has his own Sonos account and adds the ZonePlayer to an S1 app?   Nevermind - should have a read a bit more closely! Continue using your old product, give it to someone else for a second life, take it to a certified e-recycling center, or return it to us.

So i’m trying to figure out if buying sub gen 3 when i already have gen 2. my question is, what’s the upgrade from gen 2 to gen 3 sub?  

I bought a Connect:Amp in 2019. It will only be usable in an S2 system if it is Gen2. Sonos documentation states “Not sure if your product is Gen 1, Gen 2, or Gen 3? Check the System section of your Sonos account page to find out if your products are compatible with S2.” but having done this there is no reference in my “System” record as to the Generation on my Connect:Amp. Having been caught out by a Sonos App update that forced me to buy a new android tablet already I am nervous about applying the Sonos S2 app to my system until I can ascertain I could still use my Connect:Amp with my beam and 2x Play One system, The serial number is C100 1810C *-*-*-*-*-*-E If it is an incompatible Generation 1 model I would like Sonos to explain why it was sold to me new, from Richer Sounds, only a year ago. I am already very cautious about continuing with Sonos after the recent “bricking” debacle and that would terminate any chance of further purchases of Sonos equipment. Thanks to anyone who c

I recently purchased the Sonos Arc and I’m curious if I can connect it to my record player without buying any additional Sonos products.    I have Fluance RT82 turntable connected to a Sony Sterio Receiver. If I buy a converter cable, can I plug directly into the Sonos Arc HDMI port from my sony receiver?

I took a stab at finding an adequate solution for hooking up my new Sonos Port to my Crown D-75A amplifier… it turns out it was easy, not finding help from any provided inbox instructions from Sonos, so I though I would share on the community forum.  https://www.nilesaudio.com/product/voltage-triggered-ac-power-strip-FG00242  This $200 product was on eBay used for $9… The 3.5mm cable cost me more than the relay box at Best Buy… I just had to strip one end to the IN terminal and plug the 3.5mm into the Port.  I leave my amp switch on, and then play my device (Sonos App, Airplay2, etc.), it activates my amp and I listen… And the after about a minute of dead air from pause or shut off, my amps power turns off.  Now I don’t waste power or have to get up and actually remember to turn off my amp… Fear not.
