I am placing 6 amps in a home run cabinet and wanted recommendations on CFM air flow recommendations? 2 amps per 2U rack. This rack will also contain 4 Network devices and 2 battery back devices.

Was planning on intake and exhaust like below. 20 to 60 CFM

The closet is air conditioned but wall mounted rack is higher up on the wall approximately 7’.

Hi @tampayachtsales.

Welcome to the Sonos community and thanks for reaching out to us.

We here in Sonos would like to be fair and does not have any specific recommendation based on your current situation provided. However, we can always reach out to other members of the community who may already have the same setup as what you would want and have recommendations on what they think would possibly fit your needs.

Let us try to reach out to other members of the community and see what are their opinion and feedback on this.

Please let us know if you still have further questions or concerns. We are always here to help.

Thanks,

That unit should be enough to keep the air moving over the Sonos gear and the speed controlled fans should allow low noise with cooler temps.

The question comes down to how many times is the air in the closet going to be recirculated? If the closet heats up you may have to add a supplemental, possibly powered vent to bring in outside (room) air to keep it under control.

Here we put a simple 8” passive vent through the wall at the top of the closet, air is able to enter under the door. This gives us enough air flow that no supplemental cooling is needed. Two of these and a short section of duct to connect the two.

You might pick one that matches your existing vents, larger won’t hurt.

I’d monitor the temps, add passive vents if needed and not use the powered ones unless themps still aren’t under control.
