Hey looking for some advice ,So we currently have a Sonos beam and have recently just purchased the Sonos one and the project t1 phono sb turntable as gifts for my partner for Christmas however I’ve since learned that they won’t connect without port or play5 is there any other alternative (cheaper) way to connect all 3 ? Would the connect amp 1/2nd gen work to link them in short term until I can bare to part with another £500 for the play5 or £400 for the port ? 

I am planning to use an Amp for surround with an Arc. Can the Amp automatically switch to stereo mode if I use it to stream music?Thanks. 

Hi guys, I was wondering if I could get some help please? I have a 16 x 13 living room currently with a 50inch tv and beam. I would like to add an upgrade to kill 2 birds with one stone. Want to get a 5.x surround and occasionally use the turntable with Sonos. I know I have a couple options. Getting a couple of Ones and add Connect or Port (a bit expensive) Getting a couple of 5s and plug in turntable directly to one of the 5s.  Are the 5s a bit of an overkill for the size of the room? I know that line in is disabled when 5s in surround group? I’d be using turntable only occasionally so does it take long to undo surround and have 5s play as a stereo for turntable? Is there any other alternative option for me? Which option would you choose or maybe have a similar set up? Thank you for your help, Jakub

Right now I don’t have a receiver or turnable, but want to establish a sonos system that could double as a sound bar for the TV and support a line in music source from a turntable.  If I purchased the Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB Turntable (with the pre-amp), connected to a Sonos Port, and a Beam -- would that accomplish what I want.  Or would I need to purchase say a Sonos Five for the turntable, and then the Beam for the TV?  Thanks.

How can I tell if my connects are gen. 1 or 2 (I have 4)?

Hello!I’ve just installed and configured the outdoor speakers by sonance. I’ve followed the instructions to unlock the enhance audio adjustments but I don’t see them anywhere in the App.How can I see them? thanks in advanced 

Hi, My Sonos2 app shows that my line-in is disconnected. I am not able to play vinyl though I do have a Sonos recommended preamp turntable. I have tried ALL the methods described on the Sonos website, and I mean all, to resolve the problem but to no avail. My Sonos2 app cannot find my Connect even though it is registered with Sonos and shows in their list of the Sonos products I own. Any one been in a similar situation and have resolved the problem?

Hi, We are buying a set of turntables and also considering buying a sonos amp so that we can have our existing Sonos speakers and turntable all on one system. We currently have one Play 1 and one Play 5 speakers. We will ultimately buy some stereo speakers for the amp/turntables, but initially we’d would like to just use the existing Sonos speakers that we have. I had two questions:Am I correct to assume that we will be able to connect the Play 1 and Play 5 speakers (each in different rooms), via the amp, to our turntables, and run them as mono speakers? Once we have acquired a set of stereo speakers to add the set up, will we be able to continue using the Play 1 and Play 5 as mono speakers, whilst using the new speakers as a stereo set up?Thanks.

Can I power 2 speakers and a subwoofer on 1 Sonos Amp? 

I’ve done a few in-wall and ceiling speaker installs using Sonos Amps. Except for when there is an obvious stereo configuration (like speaker on the left wall and right wall relative to a seating area), I’ve been using the Dual Mono option which seems to sound better. I just recently did an outdoor zone that needed some additional power. So I’m using a Sonos Port + third-party power amplifier. It doesn’t seem like the Port has the mono option, and neither does my power amplifier. I’m also using the coaxial output to the amplifier, so I don’t think I could use a third-party mono converter device without having to compromise on resolution. Thought I’d see if anyone has any other ideas for workarounds. Or perhaps someone from Sonos could weigh in if mono has been considered for the Port’s roadmap?

Hello Sonos team. To get right to the point, I have a very specific scenario that meets me quite often where I set up ultra high-end set ups for clients with systems consisting of two separate monoblock amplifiers for their speakers, (one for each channel,) or four separate monoblocks, (two for each channel. Sometimes even more.) I always upgrade their system to connect over WiFi using the Sonos port, simply because it’s the most ideal of your line of products in terms of what it allows my clients system to do. One of the reasons why clients want a port for each channel is to retain symmetry in the look of their system, as well as not having to have a little Sonos port sitting in between two massive amplifiers, as some people simply have their amps resting an inch above the floor. Giving them the ability to switch between either having their speaker play as left/right or mono using only their phone when one Sonos port is used for each channel would be incredibly helpful to these situa

Hello. I currently have a Sonos Connect Amp (S1) connected to my Onkyo Receiver which is in turn connected to my outside passive speakers.how to I update this zone to S2? Sonos Port is 500$ and I don’t need external audio source AND I don’t need amplification. I just need my outside speakers to become a Sonos S2 zone. Is there a way to to this? If Sonos Port is the only way, then shame on you Sonos! There has to be another way right?Thanks for your help.Frederic.       

im about to buy a turntable to connect to my sonos system, i own a play 3 and a connect amp. only problem with the connect amp is that its in a central cupboard in the house and wouldn't be able to wire connect to the turntable. Can i buy a gen 1 connect to be able to get the turntable playing through my current system? Would i need to have the S1 app to do this?.

How do I use the Sonos Beam as a speaker for my Denon AVR X500 receiver? 

Looking for a solution to automatically turn on my Denon AVR-X3200Wwhen the Sonos Port starts playing.   My AVR has a 12v trigger out (which isn’t what I want) and a remote IR In/Out. The Port only sends a 12V “On” signal, as I understand it, so the IR In wouldn’t work either.  Are there any other options?  I tried setting up something through IFTTT utilizing my harmony remote but the Sonos IFTTT doesn’t work as a trigger.   Has anyone gotten something to work?

Hello, I have two Sonos One & one Sonos Play:5 and Sonos Beam in living room. I would like to use these speakers for my home party. The sound will come from my Native Instruments Traktor S4, but my question is – which device do I need to buy to connect Traktor S4 mixer into Sonos sound system? Do I need Sonos AMP, or Connect? Or something other? Master sound will go to the Sonos system in the living room + cue sound will go from mixer to the headpones.

I am looking to add turntable to my existing SONOS system and am looking at the Audio Technica LP-120XUSB. I have a SONOS port that I will connect it to. I am looking for input from anyone that has the LP-120XUSB or the previous LP-120USB.

I have Sonos Amp, but also have the problem on an old Connect:Amp. Both are wired, not WiFi. I listen to TuneIn radio. The problem is that playback begins to stutter after an hour or two of playing. The music cuts in and out repeatedly. I'm able to resolve the problem by stopping play, then starting again. The same feed no longer stutters for a long while after restarting. But this used not to happen. Suggestions? Dave

Hi all,I’m currently running 2 sonos one’s and a sonos sub gen3. What I’m trying to do is understand the options for connecting my turntableFrom what I can found, the Sub is not compatible with the Port. Does this also hold true when only using the line-in of the Port?What other options would be available for adding a turntable into this setup? Do you need a Sonos 5 for this?

I have a Beosound 8 I’m trying to connect to a Sonos bridge (well I think that’s what it’s called) the app can see the device but no music is coming out of the speakers. I have the cables supplied plugged into the out ports on the back of the Sonos thing. Any ideas?

I have a system with one connect and three connect:amps, no sound plays from the connect.  I have them grouped, with audio coming via line-in on one of the units. Which unit the line in is hooked up to (connect or one of the connect:Amps) has no effect on the problem. The connect line out is hooked up to a receiver. I’ve hooked another source up to the receiver’s line in and it plays fine.  If I have the line in hooked up to the connect, all units grouped, I get sound out of the connect:amps but nothing seems to be coming from the connect line out. The Sonos app shows them all playing and volume is turned up.  Any ideas what I’m doing wrong with this setup?Thanks!!  

I spoke with a member of the SONOS team via the chat feature on the website. They confirmed that I can use the SONOS Five’s line in directly into my mac desktop computer or laptop; enabling me to use it as a desktop speaker.I have purchased the FIVE on these grounds, but having done further research I am worried that there might be some delay in the audio. Would this be the case with the new Sonos FIVE?Also, does the type of audio (analog v digital) coming from a computer have compatibility issues with the SONOS Five as opposed to the audio from say a mixer (aux)? Thank you.
