im about to buy a turntable to connect to my sonos system, i own a play 3 and a connect amp. only problem with the connect amp is that its in a central cupboard in the house and wouldn't be able to wire connect to the turntable. Can i buy a gen 1 connect to be able to get the turntable playing through my current system? Would i need to have the S1 app to do this?.

Depends upon how your current system is set up  If it is S1 then you will be fine.  If the existing speakers are S2 then you will need an S2 compliant Connect (gen 2 onward) or a Play 5 gen 2 onward.

Can you not move the existing connect to where the Turntable will be?

Would a Bluetooth transmitter and receiver reach between locations?
