Advanced setups

Hi folks!  I’m new to Sonos in a new home with new WIFI with mesh extension, and I’m having enough trouble setting up my system and consistently getting it to work that I’m coming close to throwing in the towel -- i.e. returning the whole system to the local supplier where we bought it and trying something else entirely.  Rather than spell out all the problems I’m experiencing, I’m wondering if anyone can provide real-time assistance for setup, or recommend a professional service that I can contact? I’m finding directions provided Sonos on their support site to be far too broad.  It tends to take me around in circles with few solid solutions.  I’ve gone one round already with Sonos customer service, and while helpful, my 45-plus-minute wait on hold was followed by one-hour of on-phone/on-line assistance from an off-shore tech to connect my Sonos account to my PC music library, so I’m reluctant to go that route again -- just too damned slow.  I find the apps -- both for my iPhone and PC

Hi, It always used to that changing your address to a different region within you Sonos account gave you access to that region’s services. Is this no9 longer the case> No matter what region I change to I get the same selection of services

Hi. I have an old connect amp powering two passive speakers. I want to connect the amp to a new frame tv so that the tv audio plays through the passive speakers. The problem is my connect is old and does not have an hdmi port. Can I get around this problem by using an hdmi arc extractor, and if so, will I be able to control the tv volume from my tv remote?  If so, can you recommend an arc audio extractor that will work?

The Sonos Amp is connected to power and initially connected via Ethernet. Steps Taken: Connected the Amp to the router using an Ethernet cable. Accessed the Sonos app, went to Settings > System > Network, and attempted Wireless Setup. The the app fails to find the device, even though it can otherwise communicate with the Amp (can turn lights on and off).   Troubleshooting Attempts: Restarted the Sonos Amp, router, and mobile device multiple times. Thank you sonos, it is now impossible with the new app to change the wifi network.I had to create a new account, re initialize and add again all the speakers…. Do the complete settings…. One word → bravo !

Hi. Trying to add a Sonos Port to my existing setup.  Port updated and seemingly registered on my Sonos system OK, but no sound output to hifi.  Connected via digital output to Hifi (Meridian).  Used existing "CD" input and cable to ensure it wasn't the input or cable at fault.  Tried adjusting volume levels on both port and hifi to no avail.  Only strange thing is that the Port shows up as part of my system on the Sonos App (iPhone) but no on the web app.  Any advice please?

Howdy,I would like to do the opposite of what I see many people want out of VLANs and Sonos. I would like to have multiple Sonos speakers totally separated by VLANS.My setup:- Two phones, two totally seperate Sonos accounts- All of the Sonos speakers are wireless- UniFi Express running:    - Three VLANS (default, 2, and 3)    - Two wifi networks mapped to their own VLAN (just 2 and just 3 respectively)- I want there to be a totally separate Sonos experience depending on which wifi network you are onWhat I have tried so far:- The setup above with “default settings”; this meant that multicast roaming was enabled so the systems everything showed up everywhere (unwanted)- The setup above with mDNS and Snooping turned off; this “works” in terms of the Sonos systems are indeed separate, but my Sonos speakers constantly fall off the network and cannot be found without a factory reset on the daily (unwanted)Do folks have any suggestions for which settings to inspect / investigate?

I upgraded from a two year old Netgear router to a brand new Eero six mesh router, significantly improving the Wi-Fi signal in my home. Unfortunately, that upgrade meant I had to spend many hours reconnecting all 21 of my devices to the new router. Some were very easy and some took a while. I was never able to reconnect the Sonos system to the new router by myself. It required an hour long on-hold wait on the phone and two hours with a technician that was very difficult to understand (he was knowledgeable but I could not understand his accent very well and had to ask him to repeat what he was saying many times). In the end my patience won out after we gave up on using the WiFi connection process and hardwired the base station directly to the router, allowing the system to finally function properly. At the end of our interaction, I was under the impression that I would need to leave the system connected directly to the router until a time down the road when the software would allow me t

Is there anyway without Telnet or rpc to a desktop to control a Sonos system remotely. I only have Sonos amps…no other Sonos products

I’ve had Sonos for well over a decade now and have upgraded to all of the new stuff when it comes out and for the most part Sonos has been very stable for me. however, I’m working on having a more elevated sound experience and I went out and bought some KEFLS50 and KEFLS60 speakers and KF92 subs. I still have a house full of Sonos speakers and that’s not gonna change. I just thought I would try a different music server.  I’m not sure if it’s in my head or not but I think that Roon just sounds more defined vs the Sonos App? The bass hits a little harder and the vocals sound just a little bit more crisp. Is this in my head or for those of you with Roon have you noticed a better quality sound through your Sonos speakers?  It’s super easy to group speakers, I can’t believe I set the Roon nucleus one up by myself! Have a long way to go to figure everything out given I’ve only had it now for 24 hours, but it’s pretty cool. 

I have an original Sonos 1 system that was wired to my old WiFi system via a Sonos bridge, the WiFi has completely changed and we have also added 3 x TP-Link WiFi boosters around the ground floor to give a better WiFi signalThe system has stopped functioning following this upgrade and attempt to reset have failed? The speakers ( Play 1,3,5, Playbar) are completely wireless and do not have Bluetooth capabilities.What is the process to reset the system successfully , and will I lose my current Sonos playlist etc ?The WiFi  network I would like to use is the TP-link via my I-phone 14 controller Sonos 1 App?

When I bought the speaker, I thought it would be possible to switch the “move” between networks. Namely, from friends, work, and home. After a lot of searching online, I still don't know if this is possible or not. Hence, my question, “how can I connect my move to multiple networks without a factory reset”. Online, it states that the move can remember up to 6 SSIDs. The Sonos app 2 also sees the move when I switch networks and even tells me to add it as a trusted network. Then, when I click the ok button, it keeps on “searching for system…”. Do you have a definitive answer as to whether or not it is possible to move between networks without a factory reset?  

Good Afternoon.I read various sources on using SonosNet for my speakers.  I’ve attempted to switch over and I am missing step.  The next steps feel like basically deleting what I have set-up and starting from scratch.I current run eight Ones, two Move 2, and a mini sub throughout my house.  the two Move 2 are paired, one set of Ones are paired, and the second paired set is connected with mini sub.  the rest are singles in the house.I have one speaker plugged in directly to the network, the rest run on Wi-Fi from same network.  This next step is where I hesitate.  Do I basically delete the Wi-Fi settings from the main menu and then walk the house, going to each speaker and re-add them?  There should be a SonosNet choice this time for the network name (WM:1), correct?I just need to document the MAC address before starting to know which speaker is being reset so I go to the right place?  I wanted to ask this question before doing this action because it feels like a destructive to the set-

Looking to put Sonos in a community pub. Four rooms but ideally would like to add a microphone to allow use as a PA for quiz nights etc. Is this possible?Any advice gratefully received.

Bought a brand new Ray, cannot get past message saying update required to use. When I press continue I just get home screen where Ray is not showing. This is the second speaker from the shop, same issue with first unit. The shop also could not get it to connect. Fist time SONOS customer, extremely disappointed and frustrated with set up difficulty. Can this be resolved somehow? I've factory reset, rebooted router, tried setup on 3 other routers in different houses. Same continous problem. HELP!! Thank you 😊 

Hey everyone, we moved and I’m reconnecting two Sonos amps. In both instances I was able to restart and get them connected to my wifi (shows up as devices in the xfi gateway list).  When I go into to Sonos app it doesn’t show up but then I click join network and get a message “you’re connected to Sonos” but I can access the amps from the app.  Really confused and frustrated, been two hours. 

I have 10 Sonos amps.  I only use Sonos for music -- none of my amps are connected to a TV.  For each amp ‘TV Autoplay’ and ‘Use IR’ are turned off.I have set up each amp as a device in my Alexa app.  However, for each amp Alexa has created two devices -- a speaker device (which I want), and a TV device (which I don’t want).  It I delete the TV devices in my Alexa app, Alexa just adds them back.  How do I stop Alexa from adding Sonos TV devices for Sonos amps that have no TV connection?

I have different places with different Sonos systems. Each with their own individual Sonos account. When moving form one place to another EACH TIME I have to "search for system" on the current network and login to the account attached. EACH TIME. @Sonos: WHY?!?!?!?This used to work flawless in the previous app. Only one time discovery per system and one time login per system and from then I could flawlessly switch from one place to another.
