Hello Hoping someone can help.

I recently upgraded my sound system from BOSE to SONOS. I have a Sonos ARC a Sonos Sub and 3 Sonos Amps. 

AMP 1 - Connected to my Bose rear channel speakers for surround (didn't want to rewire)

AMP 2 - Connected to BOSE 251 in my backyard

AMP 3 - Connected to BOSE Freespace speakers by my pool

all 3 of these sources work great individually or together.

so here’s my question - I just bought a MOVE 2 so I could have the flexibility to move sound around. I see it on my system In the SONOS app, but I can't play the same music. Did I do something wrong? or is this not possible? if not possible, why? and what can I replace the MOVE with to make it work?

You’ll need the Move on the same wifi to be able to group it with the Amps. Otherwise it’s a standalone Bluetooth speaker.

So what actually happens and what do you see/hear when you group/ungroup the players, as mentioned in this link…

…and play music to the group, such as say, Sonos Radio, via the Sonos App?


I can play music individually but when I hit apply to play the same music together it says unable to connect try again.

I’ve just tried grouping a Move (called ‘Portable’ in my system) with another Sonos Room and it seems to be working okay here. See attached.

I’m using an iPad as the controller here, what are you using and what version of OS is the mobile device running? I’m just wondering too if you’re hitting the Apply button on the room grouping screen? Are all your products connected to the same WiFi access point or are you using any kind of WiFi range extender(s)?

 When you touch on the Now Playing screen on the bottom of the Home page, then touch the bottom middle button, showing the name of the active room, it shows all your rooms.  Is the Move 2 on that list of rooms?

 If the Move 2 is there try touching the Everywhere group.  The Livingroom group is one I created.  The Everywhere group is there by default.

 


 


 So when you touch the group Everywhere do you still get the error Unable to connect?

Have you checked to make sure that your devices are all on the latest Sonos firmware update - check the ‘About Your System’ device list in the App and check for any updates.

Try starting with the playing room (Amp or Arc) as the group-coordinator - Also try grouping things the other way around. Consider rebooting your local network and see if that resolves the issue. I would ensure too that all products and controller are connecting to the same WiFi access point (router) only (that’s if you have other AP’s). 


Mopac. Yes when I hit everywhere and apply it says unable to connect 


 Look at what Ken suggested.  In the app Settings (gear icon) - Manage - About Your System.  Scroll down and see if all your devices have Version: 16.3.1 etc.


Hey Mopac and Ken. It looks like that worked.  I am able to play everywhere.   I guess I just need to update software.    Thank you for your help.
