Hi all,

I currently own a Sonos Play 5, Sub, Sonos One, Move, and Beam.  I just purchased a house that has a built-in system consisting of a Denon AVR-X3700H, Onkyo 2-channel Amplifier (M282), and a Nikes Speaker selector (SSVC4).  This equipment is powering a total of 9 speakers (7 indoor, 2 outdoor).  I would like to integrate my Sonos with this system to provide additional sound to the house.  What is the best route to do this, and how?  It looks like I will need to purchase a Sonos Port, but I’m not completely sure.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Without looking at the amp specs, if there’s a line-out you could connect to your Play:5 line-in? 
 

The Port would be the best choice for your situation. There are many inputs to choose from on that receiver, so you can connect the line out from the Port to in input and have whatever you stream from Sonos through the other speakers in your home. Although the Denon has Heos built in, it is not directly compatible with the Sonos ecosystem.

Thank you—Would I need multiple Sonos Ports or would one allow for all of my wired equipment to pair with my Sonos equipment?

You would use PORT as if it is a cassette deck. PORT’s Line-out would be “Play” and “Line-In” would be record. You can Group any combination of SONOS players with Line-In or Line-Out.

Note that some receivers will not convert digital audio input (HDMI audio, for example) to analog and therefore will not be available for Line-In.
