Can someone confirm for me that an Apple Time Capsule is no longer compatible for use as a NAS with Sonos?

I have been unable to use my Sonos since the app update however many months ago. Prior to that, my Time Capsule functioned as my NAS (in addition to being my router and where I back up my Macbook). Since the update, I have spent hours and hours googling and searching YouTube videos to try to play my music but I’ve never been able to reconnect my music library with my Sonos.

Yesterday I finally found this thread that appears to say the Time Capsule is no longer an option but I’d like to get another confirmation before moving on. I don’t know what generation my Time Capsule is, but it’s at least a decade old. I don’t know exactly what SMB v2 or v3 are, but it looks like the Time Capsule is SMB v1 which I understand is now a no-go. Is that correct?

Anyone who is kind enough to respond, please bear in mind that I am not technically savvy. Thank you!

If the Time capsule wont do anything other than SMB v1, (and I gave up years ago on my Time Capsule), then it can only be used with a Sonos S1 system, which can only use SMB v1.

Sonos S2 operating system requires use of SMB v2 or v3.
