I have two play five in my living room, but when I play movies I don’t hear enough of voice all I hear is background music. How can I set up, and if I need to upgrade is beam the way to go or arc
Was going to buy a turntable and a preamp. Would people recommend connecting to a Port or a Sonos 5? The Port and 5 are a similar price but didn’t know if audio would be better through either connection because of the 3.5mm jack versus RCA. I am placing the turntable in my living room where I already have an Arc, 2 play 3’s and a sub.
HelloI am looking at buying a Record Player for my other half for Christmas. He has mentioned buying himself a Sonos Arc to use with the TV. I therefore wondered if it was possible to get the Record Player to link to his Sonos Arc rather than buy a seperate speaker system. It would be better if it was wireless too. Longer term, looking to set up more Sonos speakers around the house, so it would be useful is solution could also play with them too. Thanks
Hello everyone,I have an outdoor living area (under cover) approximately 2500 sq ft. I would like to use Sonos wireless speakers, but I’m unsure what equipment to purchase? The sound would need to broadcast over our swimming pool and patio, with the ability to turn it off and have music inside our outdoor living area. Can anyone help me please? Thanks.
I want to buy a Beam, but my wife doesn’t want it mounted under the TV. I can’t find any mounts that are specifically designed for mounting it above the TV, but it seems like I could just use the normal wall mount and some after-market brackets. Can anyone recommend a specific product or give me some advice on the best way to do this? Thanks.
I’m trying to understand the best layout for sonos that i’m about to buy.First question, about my indoor setup:In 3 rooms in my house, for each I’m planning to buy sonos speakers- and I’m trying to understand should I go for 2 units of Sonos One (to get the stereo effect), OR one unit of Sonos Five which is stronger and have deeper basses. I’d appreciate any ideas? Second question, about my outdoor setup:I have a small yard where I can put sonos speakers in a way that it’s not going to get direct rain or direct sun, yet it’ll still be outdoor. Will I be able to place a Sonos Five in there? Will it hold? Thanks!
I have a lot of sonos products and my bridge and gen 1 play 5 are eligible for the upgrade. This makes me assume that all of my other speakers are s2. My question: if I upgrade my gen 1 play 5, do I even need a bridge anymore? can I use the trade up program with my bridge but use the discount on another speake since I, presumably, don’t need the bridge anymore?
So I have 9speakers around my house with one sonos one wired .. I have dropouts all the time. Sonos informs me I need more than one speaker wired (ratio off 1 wired to 5 wireless). So much for a wireless system. So my question is if I use a boost will it be better. I have only one place to wire in so I would be replacing cable from Sonos one to plug in boost. Sonos also informed to move speakers closer together.. so much for multi room setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Like a lot of people, I was pretty upset when I found out that the Sonos equipment I spent thousands of dollars on just a few years ago was no longer going to be eligible for updates. Despite that, I still think the Sonos system is the right one for me. But I really don’t want to pay a bunch more money to Sonos to replace my equipment, so I’ve started looking around for good deals on gently used Sonos components. How can I tell whether a particular component is new enough that it’s still eligible for updates? Thanks.
I was just hoping you might be able to help me with the setup for my Sonos Arc. I recently bought the Arc, Sub Gen 3 and 2 x Fives. The issue I'm having is how & where to place the Arc. Wall mounted or on a shelf under the TV. After looking at some videos on best positioning for Atmos, I'm not sure what option to go with. If I wall mount the Arc straight to the wall 4-6" below the TV it will be very low down, lower than ear level. So, I am considering placing a wooden strip 90x10x2.5" on the wall underneath and then mounting the Arc to that so it's secure and will clear the TV, I could then place it 4" below the TV, Or closer if that works? If closer is ok I could have the back of the Arc flush with the TV so all the speakers clear the tv and the height of the Arc would be ear level this way?If I go with a shelf it would allow me to adjust the angle of the Arc to get the best MLP distance but it wont be fixed which i would prefer with a child in the house. It would be great to get som
Hi,I own 2 connect units and have never had any Problems. The only issue I face now is that I am operating both S1 and S2 controllers. I would like to operate only S2.Do I upgrade to the Sonos Port? I have been reading on the forums that the audio quality in Variable control falls short of the connect . I have also read about numerous problems with the port. Thanks

trying to convert .cda files to mp3, cant find a proper free programany suggestions
I have an arc, gen2 sub and two ones as my rear speakers but am considering upgrading to fives if I can get a cleaner, crisper sound on audio tracks. I like the original Bose low mid sound and can’t get the equalizer to make it happen. Funny enough, I can on the Move.
Hello,I’m new to Sonos system and I want to purchase the Beam entertainment set that includes:1 x Beam1 x Sub2 x One SLAnd I have 2 questions before I proceed with the purchase.1) I want to place SLs in front of and left and right of the beam will Sonos system allow me that or they HAVE to be behind me?My proposal2) In addition to that I want to put two more SLs behind the couch, is that acceptable by the system so you have a “souround” system? My main question, because I can’t access the app without speakers is, can you add as many as you like in a room and they all work together correctly?
Amps Arcam Alpha 8 & 8PSpeakers Kef Q55Do I purchase a Port and integrate with the Arcams or Amp to just drive the KEF’s. How would I connect the Arcam amps to a Port?
2 questions really. 1 I have 4 hdmi ports but no Arc or eArc. Would Sonos Arc function in a normal HDMI port. I have 4 Move speakers - would Sonos Arc connect to these.
We had several Sonos speakers before we bought our house with a Sonance system with two DAB1s and 15 built-in speakers through out the house. We’d love to be able to control the system with our sonos app and stream our music and were told a Sonos AMP system could do this. Is this true and would we need an AMPs for each DAB1? Would this allow us to get the best of Sonos functionality and leverage the existing Sonance system? Thanks!
Am I better to have 2 Sonos One SLs in proper position for surrounds, or to use 2 Play 5s as surrounds but improperly placed left and right of an Arc? As per picture, I have an Arc + Sub and 2 Play 5s setup as surrounds. However, due to aesthetics the only place I can put the surrounds is left and right of Arc. However, I could get two Sonos One SLs and place them in more proper surround positions. I know I’ll likely get better imaging via surround sound with the Sonos One SLs even though the Play 5s are much better speakers.I’ve had this setup for a while mainly because when I play music, I can leverage the stereo of the Play 5s + Arc up front, but only play music 5% of the time. Just wondering if I’m much better served removing the play 5s; position 2 Sonos One SLs properly, and then for music playback just playing out of that setup rather than the 2 Play 5s?
This is interesting and new for Sonos.https://www.androidcentral.com/sonos-giving-away-disney-subscriptions-when-you-purchase-beam-or-arc-soundbar 6 months of Disney + if you order Arc or Beam in October. Makes sense that the promotion is with their two primary home theatre products, but it a little odd that Sonos seems to be selling them faster than they can make them, so they don’t appear to need a promotion. Makes me think the deal was made a while back, or this is something Disney wants as much as Sonos. You pretty much can’t even get an Arc delivered till November after the promo is over. However, perhaps that’s part of the plan since this seems to mostly be about the Mandalorian, which doesn’t start season 2 till November 12. Perhaps it also helps to do this pre-retail season, so they people get their soundbar early, then get surrounds and sub for Christmas. Along with this Sonos is doing a new radio channel with Madalorian composer Ludwig Göranss...and I’m a bit interested
I am considering upgrading my original Play 5 to the new version. Two questions: 1. Does the new play 5 have the same power plug as the original (my plug is plumbed into the wall so don’t want to have to change it); 2. Will the new play 5 still fit on the Flexon wall bracket I currently have. I’ve also hear the new play 5 is 5 lbs heavier so want to make sure the bracket will take the extra weight. Any information would be helpful. Thanks, Gary
Hi I have just traded in my old Play:5 speaker, to get 30% off my Sonos Arc buy. As I understood it, I then had to recycle the old speaker. However, after an email I got from SONOS regarding the trade in program, they asked we what I would do with the old speaker, namely if I would hand it in to a SONOS store, recycle it, sell it or keep it. Have I completely misunderstood, can I actually keep my play:5 that I have traded in to get 30% off a new buy?
Does this come with a dust cover?
Hi all!I just acquired a new garage/storage facility with a big open square space (720 m2, 4 m high)I was wondering if 4 or 6 Sonos One speakers would fill the room without sounding to boxy. Kind regards,PP
I would like to purchase a Five and wonder if it will align with 3 One SL that I have in 3 separate rooms, so that all of the 3 One SL and the Five will play the same music and be controlled by the Sonos app?
