I’m trying to understand the best layout for sonos that i’m about to buy.

First question, about my indoor setup:

In 3 rooms in my house, for each I’m planning to buy sonos speakers- and I’m trying to understand should I go for 2 units of Sonos One (to get the stereo effect), OR one unit of Sonos Five which is stronger and have deeper basses. I’d appreciate any ideas?

Second question, about my outdoor setup:

I have a small yard where I can put sonos speakers in a way that it’s not going to get direct rain or direct sun, yet it’ll still be outdoor. Will I be able to place a Sonos Five in there? Will it hold?

Thanks!

It depends on how you are used to listening to music, but most people seem to prefer how a stereo pair sounds compared to a single but better speaker.

The other thing to consider is that in a smaller room there may not be enough space to get a good stereo effect from two separated speakers, and there a single 5 may serve better.

For outdoors, Sonos now has the Move that should be the better choice.

The outdoor speaker should be stationary and should not be moved.

Is there any advantage for the Sonos Move as an outdoor stationary?

and back to the Five- will the Five withstand humidity outdoors?
