What to get

I’m planning to add a Sonos Arc Ultra mounted to an 85” TV in my large master bedroom. Off to the side of the bedroom, there’s a small covered patio where we are able to see the TV.I’d like to add a speaker on the patio so we don’t have to crank up the Arc Ultra just to hear the TV outside. I already have a pair of outdoor speakers on the patio powered by a Sonos Amp, but since that setup still runs on the Sonos S1 controller, I can’t integrate them with the Arc Ultra (S2-only). That’s fine — the Amp system will remain separate. The new Arc Ultra will be used only for the TV in the bedroom. The patio speaker would not be used as a surround, just grouped with the Arc Ultra for TV audio. I do have AC power available outside. Question: Which Sonos speaker would be the best choice for this setup? Should I go with a Sonos Five, or is there another speaker better suited for this? 

Hello, I am asking for help in choosing additional SONOS sound system for the following set: Sony XR-48A90K 48" OLED 4K TV + Apple TV 4K set-top box (2022) + SONOS Beam 2. Living room about 15m2, I watch streaming Movies - music. What do you recommend to buy? SONOS Mini subwoofer or SONOS ERA 100 pair.

hi guys i have just bought x2 Sonos roam 2 speakers what other portable Bluetooth speaker would you suggest buying to complement the roam 2 speakers i was thinking the move 2 ? Im very new to the Sonos world thanks in advance 

For years there has been only problems with my sonos system. I’m so close to chucking it all out the window. The last hour: Playbar works, unable to add livingroom speakers, try ten times, playbar disappears from system, app goes completely blank, livingroom re-appears, unable to pause, playbar reappears in app but without sound, and on and on and on and on ad infinitum et absurdum. Where can I send it all for incineration?! 

Hi,I am updating a 475 sq ft covered patio where I have a barbecue area with a high table, a dining area, and a living area. Next to the high table I'm placing a TV. The ceiling is 9 feet high. There are walls on the left and top side, while the right and bottom sides are open.What Sonos setup do you recommend? I was considering a soundbar for the TV, complemented by two Era 100/300 speakers hanging from the ceiling in the two lower corners (blur crosses). There is little to no rain here, and very low humidity. Thanks!  

Previously used Connect to connect TV using 3.5mm audio out on TV to RCA input to connect, worked wonderfully! Connect was many years old and bit the bullet finally! Using the proper adapters, has anyone used the Era 1 to connect their TV? Does it then play throughout the entire SONOS system? Or only on that speaker that is connected? Needing new device to connect TV, and dont really need a soundbar for the one im connecting to! Any suggestions from member currently doing this?

Hi all,I recently purchased the Sonos Arc Ultra for my living room and I love it. I would like some advice on expanding my system. :)I have a small, 900 sq ft house. I was thinking about adding:Living Room - 2 x Era 100 + Sub 4Office - Era 100 Bedroom - Era 100Deck - Move 2The office faces the dining room and the bedroom is off the kitchen. If I group all of these will it be good for whole house sound? Should I go with the Era 300s instead of 100s? I don't want to overbuy with a small space, but I love my music too!Thank you for any assistance/feedback!-Rebecca

Hello all, After some advice regarding my current setup, and potential upgrades. The system is in my pizzeria - simple setup, a pair of OneSL’s with Sub, and a Five in a seperate room. I stream music from my macbook air all day long, works great.I’m looking to add a TV. Would like to be able to airplay video/audio from my macbook to the TV, and obviously have the Sonos system take care of the audio.Was thinking of adding an ARC Ultra to the setup.Just wanting to make sure this is technically feasible before purchasing. Thanks! Larry

Good morning. Have a couple questions on placement in my new apartment and my speaker choices. I was recently blessed to have been gifted four era 300 to me by my employer.  (I know.  Lucky me!).  Anyway, I’d like to use these as music and theater set up. I was originally gonna put that two in the living room and then one each space throughout possibly the bedrooms?  Reading through some posts on this forum I’m getting kind of confused.  I’m even thinking of selling twoof the era 300s that I have and getting either a beam two and a sub, or just an arc sound bar. Any insight or help I’d appreciate it thanks guys. Or if there are any other articles in the community to point me in the direction that would be great. I will send you a picture of my layout of my apartment.  I have 2 of the Era 300’s set up in my living room currently and they sound unreal!!   

Longtime Sonos user that is looking to upgrade their setup. I currently use Sonos mostly for music, but have been eyeing an upgrade to my setup for a while now.My main space is pretty much open floor plan. I have a great room with 15 foot ceilings, and behind it we have our dining table. Our current audio comes from a Sonos Move and an old Sonos 1 in the kitchen.I am looking to upgrade the sound experience in the Great Room for music listening and the TV experience. I am initially thinking of replacing the Move with a Sonos Arc. I can place the Move somewhere else on the first floor. I could also look into doing the Arc + 2 Era 100's on stands behind the couch. Just not sure that my wife will go for it "aesthetically" since the dining table is already in pretty close proximity to the couch.My photos attached show the Great Room, and my floor plan. I am on the fence about getting a Sonos system.  I’ve read reviews where users are having speakers disconnect from the system, they are not found, or random volume control issues.Is this still happening, as of July 2025?

I am about to purchase my first Sonos system, after years of high end, old style equipment.  I could really use some input from sonos users in chosing between a pair of 5s or era 300s.My music is classical 75% and oldies rock 25%.I have a moderate to large room.My wife does not like the volume too loud, so I would say our volume is moderate: neither background nor conversation killer.My main reason for diving into sonos: while my system is extremely accurate, whenever I encounter that wide open sonos sound stage I really like it. I am also tired of ongoing speaker placement efforts to image well and put me in rhat sweet spot. So I'd sacrifice a bit of accuracy for a big soundstage.Based on the above would you advise me to  look at a pair of 5s or  era 300s? Thanks in advance for your replies.

I am on the fence about getting the original Arc.  I know that the Arc ultra is newer and has more bass than the og, but I’ve also read reviews comparing the original Arc to the Roku smart sound bar (which I currently own, and frankly enjoy the sound of, except for some quirks with my Samsung TV), and those reviews state that the Arc (og) has more bass than the Roku bar.  The Roku with the surrounds gives a nice home theater experience in my NYC home (which in New York City is still basically an apartment for most of us) and the Roku bar has enough bass for my needs.   I’m not looking for whole house audio, just a good and simplified home theater w/o the whole receiver & wires etc, (which I’ve had before)).   Soundbars are really some of the hardest things to really audition in-store.  Sonos & Bose are really the only two displays that let you hear them.  Outside of the TV displays, which to me are useless.  The rack of 10+ bars on display (that usually don’t work) is no help.

Hello, for my new house I was thinking about a PC monitor connected to an Apple TV and using a pair of Era 300 as speakers. I will mainly listen to music through Apple Music, and watch some videos.I read that the Era 300 will only play stereo and not ATMOS while watching videos, but I can accept that. Most of the time I would listen to music, so I prefer a pair of speakers rather than a soundbar.The most annoying thing I read is that Apple TV would reset the audio output every time it goes to sleep, so I’d have to change it to Sonos all the times. Is that correct? If so, any workaround?Any other drawbacks? Would you suggest a setup like that?Thanks in advance for your suggestions. 

Really interested in enhancing my TV/movie experience. Sounds like the Sonos Arc Ultra is the best, however I don't want anything rattling the walls as I live in an apartment with a shared wall. Is the Arc Ultra going to be fine in a relatively small space (roughly 400 sq ft), or should I consider the Beam/Ray models? Thanks.

Hi. looking for advice on upgrade. I currently have a old play 5 and 2 x’s play 3. used to stream from Spotify and also my Rega planar 1 plus. all works fine although not updated for a few years. looking to upgrade to a beam and a couple of Move 2. (I have been gifted 1 Move 2) I understand the turntable may be an issue and require additional components. can anyone help and advise on the best set up. regards mark

Hi All, recently set up the new arc ultra which is amazing! I want to finish my home theatre setup now. What are people's recommendations on completing this with a not so crazy budget? Would the sub mini and era 100 combo work? Room size about 19ft by 13ft. Thanks!

Our open-concept kitchen, living room, dining room is around 30x25 feet. No TV. We plan to listen to music at a low volume, and so was looking at setting up 3 stereo pairs using Era 100s (6 in total).  We likely would play the entire grouping of the 3 stereo pairs together at once. Was considering adding a sub to the space.  Is it possible [or desirable] to add two sub-minis for instance? Or is one likely sufficient? Or would a single sub gen 4 work better perhaps? Thank you for any suggestions

Hi, my living room is about 16ft x 12ft. I am in the market for a sub and surrounds to go with my Arc Ultra. Choices are between the sub 3 and Sub Mini. Would the mini go well with ERA 100s for surround?Thanks

Nice to meet you.I am a Japanese doctor and I am planning to open a new clinic this fall. I would like to play Dolby Atmos music in the waiting room. One thing that makes it different from a normal home theater is the spaciousness of the waiting room. The waiting room is approximately 750 square feet (74 square meters). The waiting room also has a unique shape. Here is the diagram: The area surrounded by a red frame is the waiting room. I was considering a configuration of one Arc Ultra and two Era 300s.Is this configuration not enough?If you have any advice on the best configuration please let me know. The music played in the waiting room is mainly designed to resemble forest ambient sounds, so that patients can wait for their appointments in a comfortable space. This is a different environment from a typical home theater, and Sonos does not have any directly operated stores in Japan. I didn't have an environment where I could ask for advice, so I decided to ask this community.

I recently purchased the arc ultra and it's amazing. I have 2 choices for my next purchase due to budget constraints.1. Sonos ERA 100 with Sub 42. Sonos ERA 300 with Sub Mini What do people recommend? Uses mainly for TV and sports. Medium sized room about 3ft from TV.
