I recently purchased the arc ultra and it's amazing. I have 2 choices for my next purchase due to budget constraints.

1. Sonos ERA 100 with Sub 4

2. Sonos ERA 300 with Sub Mini

What do people recommend? Uses mainly for TV and sports. Medium sized room about 3ft from TV.

If there is any way possible to fit the 300s to your room get them. I couldn't and swapped them for 100s and while they work well they are a step down that you can really hear.

When you can afford to get a Sub 4 then a second if it seems like a good idea.

I'd save the mini Sub for very small rooms and a Beam or Ray in TV setups.

The issue is three fold:

  1. It’s your ears that needs to be satisfied.
  2. Your room is likely different than every one else’s
  3. Your wallet needs to be satisfied.

For my purposes, I’d likely go with the second option, then update at a later date to the larger Sub, but the first option would work extremely well.

I’ll push farther: 300’s and two SUB’s. The second SUB will not offer quite as much payback when added to ARC ULTRA as it would with ARC, but I think that it is worth it.
