What to get

Hi,I am new to the whole audio surround system and I have a question. If I have the Sonos-Ray Soundbar along with a few Sonos-One G2 speakers can I play music on the Soundbar along with my Sonos-One speakers or is the soundbar only able to play sound from the TV? Would I be able to use the soundbar as an extra speaker when I’m playing Spotify?

So I first apologize because I know this topic has been asked repeatedly, but this time it’s a little different…… Is it possible to get Atmos quality sound if the speakers were positioned closer to the ceiling?  In my living room we have 20 foot ceilings (not vaulted), but we also have a ledge that goes up about 12 feet.  I wasn’t sure if being higher would help reduce the distance for the up-firing speakers?  Thoughts?  Or does anyone have suggestions for another sound system at that would be a better fit for my room type?  Oh we also have a Sony TV with the acoustic surface so the sound projects directly from the screen. Not sure if that would help with choosing a sound system. 

Hi,I’m remodeling my house  down to the studs.  I’m planning on doing in ceiling speakers in family room, kitchen, mater bath.  The Sonos in ceilings are too expensive so I was going to do non-sonos in ceiling connected to Sonos Amps.  We entertain a lot so I want to be able to have music on in the living room, kitchen, family room and backyard, but I want to be able to control which is on when and sound levels to each speaker set.Can you pls advise on what I what I think I should buy?Family room w large tv (this will be the “media room”: I was thinking sound bar and in ceiling dumb speakers.  Can I connect the Arc to dumb in ceiling speakers?  do I need an Amp for that?  will there be any audio lag?I think the Arc surround package might be a better way to go, esthetically, I’m not keen on having exposed speakers in the corners of the room.Living room w Samsung Frame 55”This will be the room I’m sure I’ll watch weekend sports while the kids are in the family room watching Disney+.  thi

More for management of Sonos vs. a conversation. I ordered 5 AMPs, three in late June, two in late August. No communication on any status until I called in early October. I was told all five would ship 10/18, but only the 2 ordered in August actually shipped. The June order is now expected to ship 11/18. Called Sonos again (no proactive update) and they said there was an issue with orders from June and July and those were skipped.Note to those with outstanding orders, it appears you have to call about items to get them shipped otherwise you may never get moved up the list. So i have an older Sonos One that i use along with Alexa for mostly playing music via Spotify.Im considering the upcoming deal at Costco on the Sonos Beam 2 and Sonos One SL 2 pack. Ill most likely grab a Sonos sub Mini with my 15% off upgrade coupon after.So i mostly watch streamed content of which much is non 4K and a mix of 2.1 and 5.1 audio. TV is an LG 55” with ARC input (no eARC) but does have Optical Out. Living Room is open concept into Dining Room and Kitchen. L shaped basically with the viewing area measuring around 8’ x 13’. Entire living room is 13’x19’, Dining Room adds another 8’x11’ which then opens to the kitchen which measures 11’x12’ approximately.So the existing Sonos One sits in the dining room and my plan was to leave it there.The Beam 2 would sit under my TV and id most likely get a wall mount for one of the One SL’s and a stand for the other. Sub would go alongside the TV stand.Onto my questions: Are my choices adequate for the room size?Will i be able to use my

I was wondering if some one could help me make the right choice to upgrade my setup My current setup is aLG C1 TV In the same room I have 4 speakers in the ceiling connected to Sonos amp for music.I sometimes connect TV to Sonos amp with hdmi to get sound from ceiling speakers instead of TV.I usually watch movies or play PS5 I was considering one of the following upgrades for this roomOption 1. Sub miniOption 2. Beam 2Options 3. Sub mini and beam 2 Please can you explain in each of these options how and if they can integrate with my Sonos amp system to have sound come out of all speakers? Could I use the beam 2 and amp at the same time? Or does have the beam 2 negate the need?

Hi Everyone. Looking for some advice. I have 2 Sonos ceiling speakers connected to an amp, and a sub and looking for some soundbar advice. You’re probably wondering why I have the ceiling speakers prior to a soundbar. It was because the house is new and we wanted them signed off as part of building regs with fire hoods etc. Now it seems the key selling feature of the ARC is Dolby Atmos with up firing speakers. As I have ceiling speakers is there any need to go for the ARC (have I got Dolby Arnos covered??), or shall I go for the Beam, noting the cost difference. We sit about 5m from our normal family living room Tv. Does an ARC, Sub 3, ceiling speakers and amp seem overkill for watching Transformers on repeat? Or am I not doing the Sonos products I already have justice by not going for the ARC? thank you!!     

I have new lg 77, optical not working with playbar. So as ants me to buy new playbar with ARC.  Not what Best Buy told me when I bought. Looks like lg found a way to sell more ARC systems.  Disappointed in Sonos lg

Hi Sonos Guys and Girls Can I get peoples advice on what Sonos set up I should purchase I enjoy both music and TV and can’t decide between the following set ups Arc, surrounds, sub gen3 and 1 x five (for music) or Arc, surrounds, mini sub and 2 x fives (for music) Both set ups are similar priced and I want to watch TV and music I have an open plan kitchen/living room. I have a sonos beam gen 1 will this work for surround sound if I add 2 sonos one sl’s

Some while ago @countryman came up with an answer to this Question, but the eBay links that pointed to his solution have now expired. Does anyone have the answer?I have a Samsung TV that currently feeds a Sonos Beam via the HDMI-ARC socket on the TV.  I need to extract the audio from this feed so that I can drive a pair of headphones at the same time as feeding the Beam.   @countryman solution was as follows. Just need the original values of X and YAvoid the passive optical splitters.  You get what you pay for. Buy an active optical splitter such as X . Note that the identical unit on Amazon is about 3x the price of this one ! Buy a simple DAC such as Y Connect up the Samsung to the IN of (2), the Sonos Beam to one of the (OUT) and the DAC to another (OUT) Job done. 

I have an arc two subs and two ones. I won’t to be able to hear my music in other rooms.  What’s best options to group with?  

Hello! Considering the Arc or Beam but would love if I could use my existing Bang Olufsen speakers together with the soundbar and not have to get the Sonos sub. is there anyway i can do that?i have a pair of Beolab Penta and Beolab 3000 and a Beomaster 4500 amp.  is there some gadget that would make it possible to use my existing speakers with a sonos soundbar? best regardscarl  

Hi,I am planning to simplify my existing whole house Crestron system and do not want use any of existing kit which is getting old and takes up a huge rack.  Can someone confirm my understanding is correct please.My understanding is that I could get up and running using a Sonus amp and connect four wired (passive) speakers and sub to the amp and with the app I would have Sonus working in say the lounge.  Is this correct? Each amp is a zone, therefore, even though I only have 2 ceiling speakers in 2 other rooms, I cannot connect all four to an amp (number 2) as cannot control independently.  Is this correct? Assuming I have 1 & 2 above correct.  In order to control four rooms independently (using existing ceiling speakers) I need 4 amps?   Am I right in thinking the Sonos amp has the functionality of the port with the addition of ability to power speakers and therefore I don't need to purchase?Thank you!

Hi I currently own Sonos Arc and Sub. I have In ceiling speakers and outdoor that where already in the house. What products do i need to purchase so I can join the Lounge room in ceiling speakers into my theatre setup and also be able to choose to play music outside separately.

Hi all,  home has multiple Sonos products, many in stereo pairs.  I was going to add a turntable with pre-amp to the mix and I wanted to have those in stereo pair as well. My questions are: A: if I go with the Five, do the stereo pairs need to be close to have a split rca cable to separate left and right channels? And this would lead to longer runs of the cables if this was the case.  B: should go with 2 Fives and a port to run the turntable to the audio in, and from there can I arrange stereo pairs with the fives via wifiC: if I go with B, and the room is 20’x20’ are the fives in stereo pair too much and should consider one(s)? bonus question: will the analog output of the turntable, sound better direct from turntable to five, instead of converting to digital and using Wi-Fi for the signal and thus throw everything out the window and go for 1 five with direct input.  thanks for considering sharing your opinion! allan  

Hello Expert,I had a 10 year old tv which I already replaced with a 164cm QLED.Now i have to replace sound bar.  The old one is not worth mentioning. The room is 520 cm * around 500 cm (door on one side and kitchen at the other).My main problem is that the plan agreed with our bouwer does not have much space around the speaker compartment.  The plan may not make sense, hence sending a photo of what we started with.My friend suggested Sonos Arc.  I took some test in mediamarkt and like them as well. But the problem is that I am not sure how much space is needs above, below and on the side to give the Atmos affect.Renegotiating the agreed design with the builder is almost a deal breaker in Netherlands. And the again i might have to order the steenstrips etc, which may infinitely delay the project.Should I go for Arc or a lower variant? Or can someone suggest minor adjustment in the design that can help.Thanks a lot in advance

Hi All - Just started my journey into using Sonos following some research and guidance. I’ve purchased an Arc for TV viewing and impressed compared with flat screen speakers. However, I need to improve on the Music atmosphere in the same room as the Arc (base seems lacking for my taste for general Pop music). I know general guidance for music depends on what music you play so a good example is Kyrie by Mr Mister using Apple Music. This song has vocals, base, stage, etc. Question then, should I consider adding pair of Sonos One SL or Sub Gen 3 or some other configuration (reluctant to add both at this stage)? Hello my fellow Sonofiles,I own a BEAM which I set up just in front of my TV. I use it mostly with the TV, but also occasionally for music with AirPlay, mostly rock and jazz. I am very pleased with the audio quality.I have been thinking lately of adding 2 ONE’s, in the back of the room, left and right. The idea is to pair them with the Beam, and play together.The thing is, the financial effort would be substantial and I want to be sure it would be worth it.So the question is: adding two ONE’s to my BEAM, do I get a substantial improvement over just the BEAM, for both the TV and music, or not?Please share your opinions if you have been in my situation.Thank you. 

Hello friends,Unfortunately, today I'm saying goodbye to the LG C1 screen that served me faithfully, since I'm moving to a super bright living room, so the OLED will not having great affect  with daylight.I ordered a Samsung QN90B and I have a full Sonos system (Arc, subwoofer and 2 speakers)From a short reading on Dr. Google I understood that there is a problem with Sonos and Samsung.Does anyone have that setup and/or the same style  like the one I bought and can share their experiences of using both products together?I would love to receive any recommendation on the subject!

On Jul 10th I placed an order on the sonos website for the “Immersive Set with Arc” package and a 2nd subwoofer. Neither appeared backorder and even now on their website they appear in stock. I did get expedited shipping.I did not create an account before the order and I used paypal to checkout.It has now been 5 business days, paypal shows the payment as complete, the  money came out of my account instantly and I have 0 communication from sonos about my order. ( Besides my account confirmation email)After the order was confirmed the website asked me to create an account, i did and the order does not show up under that accounts order history.I contacted support via the web chat and apparently they don’t have access to order information?!Do I rally need to call in to get this resolved or is there someone that can look into this for me? 10am-7pm is very inconvenient for me. For a product with such a premium price tag I had hoped for better support.
