What to get

It looks like Sonos have shown where their priorities are: I have just received an email promoting their “fantastic” headphones, but I never once received an email telling me that they were going to do a major overhaul of the app, remove SMB1 shares or remove critical pieces of functionality from the app. So to anyone thinking of buying the headphones - beware that Sonos are likely to screw it up when they have another new piece of hardware they want to sell, since they don't care about existing customers.

I was determined to buy the Sonos headphones as soon as they were released. Now I'm hesitant, to put it mildly… My trust in Sonos has diminished considerably after the debacle of the ‘new app’ that removed much of the functionality I'm depending on.

Hello, what needs to be added to a Sonos system to give you the option of adding a remote control (Roku in this case)?I have 2 Five’s giving me sound from my projector. I through adding a Sub would give me the option to sync with a remote, but not luck. Just making sure I’m not missing anythign before I return the Sub.(happy to see lots of other users requesting Sonos to introduce a physical remote control)

So, I’m thinking about putting together an outdoor theater on my pergola which already has the Outdoor (Sonos) Sonance speakers wired to a Sonos Amp. The last piece of the puzzle is getting a projector and setting it up to work with the Amp and speakers. What I’m wondering is if this is possible using AirPlay 2 completely through WiFi. The projector I’m looking at is either the Samsung Freestyle 2 or the LG CineBeam PF610P.  Does anyone have any advice they might offer?Cheers!

I'm trying to figure out a fully wireless amp and speaker solution. I sent the below to support over 3 months ago and never got a response. I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction and what if any devices sonos sells that I would need to make this work. And if they don't offer what I need, what other company's devices should I look into?This is my desired set up. Unsure if it is possible.:I live in a 3 story home. I have a wired turntable with its own phono pre-amp (among other audio devices) which live on the 2nd floor of my home.Taking just the turntable as an example:- I want to be able to listen to that turntable on the 1st floor of my home.- It is not feasible for me to run physical speaker wires from the 2nd floor down to the 1st floor. I also don’t think a Bluetooth signal will pass reliably from the 2nd floor down to the 1st floor (but maybe it would?). If Bluetooth wouldn't work/be reliable, then I'd be looking specifically for a WiFi solution.- In other wor

Hello, i’m looking to buy the Japan set of the Sonos Beam. Japan uses 100v and has 50-60hz. Singapore uses 230v and 50hz. The beam specs are 100-240v, 50/60hz  will it work? also, should i buy the Singapore cable, or should i use an adaptor for the japan plug? 

Afternoon everyone, I’m building a 24’x36’ garage gym and want to build a surround sound system that will rattle your bones when lifting. I powerlift and want something that melts your face when you’re going for a personal record on deadlifts or heavy squats! I know very little about what setup would be the best to go with and was hoping for some guidance and recommendations on what you think would be the best for that. I appreciate any feedback.

Hi,I have had Sonos for many year, using  2 zone players to drive some hi-fi bookshelf speakers. This has worked well but we are now renovating and looking at the ERA 300 mounted on high on the wall to free up some space.These will be for music only not TV. I’m not interested in having built in speakers. Most of the listening will be in the sitting and dining area, I’m wanting to fill the space with music. Not intending on critical listening so thought ERA 300 will be better than Play 5sThe plan is to put an ERA 300 at points 1 and 2 on the diagram below. I have a few questions:I presuming that ERA300 would be powerful enough for this space? Number 2 will be near the ceiling so I will install the ERA 300 upside down, I presume that number 1 should also be placed upside down to match even though the ceiling is higher on that side? (see second pic for ceiling difference) As the speakers are so far apart (5m) I’m presuming they should be set up as separate zones rather than a left and rig

I'm looking to set up my home with Sonos. The living/dining space is about 450sqft. I'm thinking about starting with an Immersive Beam Set (Beam, Sub Mini, 2x 100s). I have a record player in this space that I use regularly, and an old Play:5 as the speaker. I was thinking about a Play:5 to Five upgrade, but I'm worried the Five would be overkill in a <500sqft space where there's also a Beam and Sub. Could the immersive set get me sound as rich as the Five in this space?My office is 150sqft and serviced by Vanatoo T0 desk speakers that I'd like to integrate. They are connected to the PC via USB. I need to make sure that I can go between sound from the PC to the speakers with no lag (for audio/video editing) while also being able to go through Sonos for whole home audio when needed. I'm a little confused on the Port's functionality but I'm wondering if it could be a solution here. If not, how else could I selectively integrate PC audio to the Sonos system?TIA

I have a set of play:1’s sitting on Sanus stands as part of my Sonos home theater system. One of them has been acting up and not working, so I need to replace it. I was thinking of just getting a new set of era 100s, but I’m not sure they will work with the existing stand. Hi, I have a Panasonic 50HX800 used for streaming video and music from Apple TV 4K (Netflix with subtitles, Spotify, podcasts, my own music on a server). Need help in selecting amp, 6 speakers for my outdoor patio (4 indoor and 2 outdoor), I need 3 zones so I can control music in speakers. so basically I have 3 separate section. I have a stereo pair of wall-mounted Play:3 speakers in the corners of a 7x5m room. They are approximately 20cm from the ceiling and 20cm in from the outside wall as shown by the red markings on the floor plan below. I have high-level power outlets just behind the speakers to avoid cables running up/down the wall.I feel it’s time to upgrade from the Play:3s (especially with Sonos offering discount for trading up) but don’t know what to buy. Whatever I choose needs to be able to fill the room reasonable well for social gatherings, which the Play:3s just about do.I was thinking a pair Era 300s, but Sonos advise more space above the speaker than I have - will this be OK or am I paying for the spatial and not being able to use it? Would a pair of Era 100s be man-enough for a room this size? Would a mini-sub help? Perhaps a pair of Move 2s (or even Move 1s if I can find any), although this feels like I’m paying for the mobility and not using it? A pair of Fives would certainly be a step up,

Hello first time here, Sonos user. Happy with what I have. Took a while to set up my system, but now is working fine.my question is if adding an Era300( only 1) would be ok. Or have to be 2 Sonos (Era 300).my system consist of;beam 2, sub 3 gen, 2 Sonos SL, 1 roam.it would make it better??  

Hi, My daughter got the ProJect T1 with a Sonos 5 speaker last year. Honestly I thought this was just a whim for her and we end up with it in a few months. But - that has not happened. She loves it - and now we’ve all started to love listening to vinyl ( and amazing to me - how it sounds over Apple Music streaming.) It sounds great even when we send it to our paired set of sonos ones and sub mini in the living room.  So know we are going to purchase a new turntable for the living room and I’ve been down the rabbit hole of upgraded turntables and speaker sets. I think I like to get the ProJect Debut Pro or Pro S. The five is an awesome sounding speaker - but will the quality match the higher end turntable - or should I plan to connect it to a better pair of wired speakers and connect it of our Sonos system through the Amp.  And a further question - if we go with the five and end up buying a pair for stereo - do we need to wire them both to the turntable?  Thanks for any advice! Hi guys, I am helping my friend with his Sonos purchase and well I wanted your opinion on the 2 proposed setup: Setup A: Zone 1: Kitchen/Living room combined → Sonos AmpZone 2: Dining Room → Sonos AmpZone 3: Family room (Arc sound bar + Gen 3 sub) This setup visually looks better and has a steeper price tag, main concern is , is it an overkill? also if 5-10 years down the road he moves, well the in-ceiling speakers stay! Total: 10 in-ceiling speakers | 2 Sonos Amp | 2 Era 300 | 1 Arc Soundbar | 1 Gen 3 Sub  Setup B: Zone 1: KitchenZone 2: Mid-Kitchen Zone 3: Living RoomZone 4: Dinning Room (group the 2 Era 100 with 2 Era 300) Zone 5: Family Room (identical in both plans)Main benefit, cost is lower as Era 100s are cheaper and no Sonos Amp is required, in addition if he moves, he can take the speakers with him! PS) I would have suggested to replace 2 of the Era 100 with Era 300 but with his floor plan, there is no way to place the 300 in such a way that their “top” is going to be clear! 

I’m ready to dip my toe into the Sonos ecosystem and am looking for some advice.I’ve been streaming Spotify in our kitchen daily for the past eight years using a first-gen Amazon Echo. I’m excited by the prospect of better sound quality. An Era 100 seems like an easy decision... Swap out one smart speaker with Alexa for another with much better sound.However, I’m wondering if I might be better served with a Beam Gen 1 or Gen 2, as it could serve as both a smart speaker for music streaming and an upgraded soundbar.For context, my family lives in a small two-bedroom apartment with a combined kitchen, dining area, and living room. Our TV is an old LG with RCA and Optical outputs only. Has anyone used military discount?  I saw ID.me show 25% military discount for Sonos.com, I log in to my ID.me account as it already had my military record.  It generated a code and redirect me to Sonos.com.  I add sub and speaker to cart but the coupon code is showing “Coupon cannot be added to your basket”.  Anyone know if this is an error or is ID.me discount is only marketing gimmick?  Thanks in advance.  

I'm currently using a Denon AVR with 5 Teufel speakers connected to the AVR with cables. The Samsung TV is connected to the AVR via ARC HDMI. Now I would like to transmit the TV sound in another room parallel to the 5 speakers. Which AVR / AMP do I need and is it even possible? 

I’m looking to create a Sonos sound system for my large open space area: living + dining + kitchen. The main purpose we want to use the system for is listening to music and occasionally movies.The main area where we want the sound to excel is the living area, on the couch, but we also want good sound quality in the dining area. Sound quality in the kitchen I believe is not so important (correct me if I’m wrong) because you have noise when you’re cooking anyway, so just hearing the music is enough.Since we’re not watching movies too often, we think we don’t need a Sonos Arc, but I might be wrong. We’ve been impressed with the sound quality of Era 300, but we’re not sure how to place the speakers for optimal sound quality:We were thinking about mounting 2 Era 300 on the walls on the left and on the right of the dining table, swiveled towards the couch. Hello,This is my first time investing in speakers and I am looking for recommendations for setup. I have a 65 inch LG TV in my living room and the distance between the screen and the sofa where I usually watch TV is 137 inches. This is an apartment and my living room is open with kitchen. The whole dimensions for the living room including kitchen should be 820 cm length and 462 breadth. In terms of cost, I want to limit it to 1000 euros as I will eventually move out of this apartment for a big home. Here are the two setups I am considering:Beam Gen 2 with 2 Era 100’s Standalone ArcWhich setup would be best for my setup ? I have heard that beam gen 2 is only good for TV’s up to 55 inch ?
