What to get

I want to set up a home surround system with Sonos speakers.  My preference is to use four in ceiling speakers and one Beam.  Will this do for a good setup?  My preference is to primarily use in ceiling speakers for this purpose.

Hello, I know there are a lot of similar discussion, but I did’t find my solution now. Maybe it’s just to individual, but let’s give it a try.For years I have my two Sonos Play 5 (1st Gen) in the living room, one Play 1 in the kitchen and another Play 1 in the bedroom. For now I like to upgrade my living room. Mostly listen to music => Spotify, mainly Rap & Pop, therefore the Play 5 as a stereo pair are perfect.  But I like to add a Soundbar for a little home theater. Beam Gen2 in mind. Ratio Music to Movie is about 70:30 Room is around 40 square meter. Now my question: Which would be the best solution for listen to music in a good stereo quality but still have the option to enjoy movies with Dolby Atmos?Option 1: Two Era 300 and Beam 2 Option 2: Two Era 100, Sub Mini, Beam 2 Option 3: Open for suggestions in ± same BudgetWhat do you think?

I am wondering which would be better for listening to music - mostly vinyl at low ish volumes in a smallish sized dining room 3.5 m x 4 m.Cost is about the same ATM with upgrade pricing. Era 100 x 2 plus sub mini or 2 x Five? many thanks

Hi there.I have a Play 5/Play 1 system (at least that's what I think it is as I’m using the S1 App) and it is time for an upgrade.I’ve looked at the latest products, but am not sure what the equivalent or better system is in the new product range, so would like some advice on what to get as a replacement.I’ve attached some pictures of my current system so as to confirm the model. Thanks!Main SystemI Have 2 of these

So. Lived in cheap rental. Got 55"tv, sonos beam gen 2 and sub mini. That was eargasm compared to what i was listening before.Fast forward not 2 years later, bought a small flat.  Now im sitting about 1m further away from tv with sofa right in the corner against the wall. And now i just dont LOVE my setup. Now dont get me wrong, still a big upgrade from tv, but feels like i have to turn sound up too much to get the same effect. And beam just feels... smaller? sub still shakes the window easily so not looking to upgrade that. My sofa is maybe a couple inches from the back wall and maybe 20cm from side wall.  So my question is. If i want…. More. do i have space for surrounds? Would 300’s be wasted in less  than ideal placement? should i get 100? i cant move sofa forward. Maybe just a little to the side.Or i have no space for surrounds and i should upgrade to arc? For lack of better words, im looking for ‘bigger’? sound so i can listen quieter and still be happy. mostly video streaming, g

All of my six Sonos speakers are compatible with S2 except two of my Play 5 S1’s. Decided I don’t need new Play 5 speakers but would like to replace them with what use to be called Play 3 instead. What is the closest match to the old Play 3.Thank YouJohn

HelloI know many are disappointed that the coming Sonos Ace headphones will not act as a “room’ in the Sonos ecosystem. However, there is a plausible explanation that may apply to a limited number of Sonos users. More on that later (see Side Note). Also at launch the Ace headset will only receive TV audio (no music audio) from an Arc soundbar to be followed by the Beam (Gen 1&2) and possibly the Ray. But perhaps the biggest disappointment is that they are Bluetooth for everything else audio (or could they be more later on) 🤔Sonos may have a plan that will make the Ace more promising in the future through the incorporation of the Bluetooth 5.4. codec. Bluetooth of any sort is considered a short range connection. However Bluetooth 5.4 would appear to open up new possibilities such as:Bi-directional Communication * Improved lockout of outside interference which causes signal loss Increased data security  Longer range/penetration for a more stable connection **I have included a few lin

I am building a new house and trying to figure out the speaker situation in the entertainment room.  I want to make it look as sleek and minimalistic as possible, so was thinking about using the in wall/in ceiling speakers.  Given that it is a new build, I can still run wires wherever needed.  Just need some help or recommendations.  In general, what I as thinking was 2-3 (right, left, center) in ceiling speakers in the rear and 2-3 in wall speakers in the from (right, left, center).  Is this reasonable.  Would it be better to use an Arc instead from the front, or would it be even better to use an arc at the center and then two in walls as the front left and right?

HelloI’ll keep this short; but first let’s address the elephant(s) in the room straight away….Yes, the Sonos App is still somewhat of a work in progress. Enough said on that. Sonos Ace headphones do not connect over Wi-Fi in the same manner as other Sonos products; and therefore do not appear as a “speaker” in the Sonos app. That’s good news as the Ace Headphones will not impact the number of Sonos units on a single system which is 32. Assuming I’ve made the correct interpretation 😂🤔I imagine that the latter comes as a shock to most. I always thought putting Wi-Fi radios into a headset is a bit much…but maybe it will come in the Ace Gen2. 😂🤔Nevertheless, from reviews by the likes of The Verge; the Ace’s have the chops to compete with well-established headset competitors like Apple, Bose and Sony to name a few.Sonos (IMO) seems to have checked all the boxes such as: * Comfort and Fit for a variety of head-sizes (as well as eye glass and/or ear-ring wearers) Premium construction and

HiThe question is often asked “does a Sonos Sub improve the listening experience of Sonos speakers”. IMO the answer is “Yes”. The more prudent answer given by community members (in most cases) is to suggest that the person asking the question allow their ears to make the final judgement. Meaning…purchase a Sonos sub and return it within the Sonos return window for your region; if not satisfied.  In the US the Sonos return window is 45 days. You can also do the same from a local or online retailer that offers a reasonable return policy/window.Sonos speakers (IMO) are great but none offer the low-end that I prefer...not even the excellent Sonos Five. However, there are considerations. As you are aware Sonos offers a full size sub and now after much lobbying by community members the Sub-Mini. Both subs serve a specific purpose for their intended use. Before I go further…to keep things simple in this discussion…”Cost” is not a factor of consideration regarding the full size sub versus the

Hi this is somewhat confusing and would have expected the Sonos site to be more wizard like to assist choosing a turntable. We have an arc, sub and 2x plays 1s in the lounge, we have play bar and 2x 1s in bedroom. We have a 5 gen1 in kitchen and a play 1 in the study. we would like to add a turntable to the mix. Ideally hooked up in the lounge to the arc and I revive I need a pre out amp integrated into the turntable and connect that to a port or connect which will enable the turntable to play to any speaker? The other option is to buy a high end turntable that has WiFi built in? Thank you

I am new to Sonos and new to surround sound/Dolby atmos. I recently purchased an Arc soundbar and am planning on purchasing a sub mini. I believe this will put me at 5.1.2? I was originally planning on adding 2x Era 300s to achieve 7.1.4 but the decoration committee vetoed that and would prefer an in wall solution. Now I am looking at the sonance in-ceiling/in-wall options and I have a few questions: Can I achieve 7.1.4 by adding both in-ceiling and in-wall with two amps? By adding only the in-walls would this be 7.1.2? What is preferred and why? The 8in in-ceiling or the in-wall?  Thank you!

Is there a plan for Ace’s to be able to receive audio from the Playbase soundbar for private listening?

It looks like Sonos have shown where their priorities are: I have just received an email promoting their “fantastic” headphones, but I never once received an email telling me that they were going to do a major overhaul of the app, remove SMB1 shares or remove critical pieces of functionality from the app. So to anyone thinking of buying the headphones - beware that Sonos are likely to screw it up when they have another new piece of hardware they want to sell, since they don't care about existing customers.

I was determined to buy the Sonos headphones as soon as they were released. Now I'm hesitant, to put it mildly… My trust in Sonos has diminished considerably after the debacle of the ‘new app’ that removed much of the functionality I'm depending on.

Hello, what needs to be added to a Sonos system to give you the option of adding a remote control (Roku in this case)?I have 2 Five’s giving me sound from my projector. I through adding a Sub would give me the option to sync with a remote, but not luck. Just making sure I’m not missing anythign before I return the Sub.(happy to see lots of other users requesting Sonos to introduce a physical remote control)

So, I’m thinking about putting together an outdoor theater on my pergola which already has the Outdoor (Sonos) Sonance speakers wired to a Sonos Amp. The last piece of the puzzle is getting a projector and setting it up to work with the Amp and speakers. What I’m wondering is if this is possible using AirPlay 2 completely through WiFi. The projector I’m looking at is either the Samsung Freestyle 2 or the LG CineBeam PF610P.  Does anyone have any advice they might offer?Cheers!

Hi, just wondering if anyone could recommend a good (or even just functional) multi-room sound system?!

Hi Sonos Community,I plan to swap my exisiting in ceiling speakers to Sonos ones and wanted to ask which size would fit.The hole in the ceiling is 210mm.Would 6” or 8” fit best. Thanks in advance

I'm trying to figure out a fully wireless amp and speaker solution. I sent the below to support over 3 months ago and never got a response. I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction and what if any devices sonos sells that I would need to make this work. And if they don't offer what I need, what other company's devices should I look into? This is my desired set up. Unsure if it is possible.:I live in a 3 story home. I have a wired turntable with its own phono pre-amp (among other audio devices) which live on the 2nd floor of my home.Taking just the turntable as an example:- I want to be able to listen to that turntable on the 1st floor of my home.- It is not feasible for me to run physical speaker wires from the 2nd floor down to the 1st floor. I also don’t think a Bluetooth signal will pass reliably from the 2nd floor down to the 1st floor (but maybe it would?). If Bluetooth wouldn't work/be reliable, then I'd be looking specifically for a WiFi solution.- In other wor

Hello, i’m looking to buy the Japan set of the Sonos Beam. Japan uses 100v and has 50-60hz. Singapore uses 230v and 50hz. The beam specs are 100-240v, 50/60hz  will it work? also, should i buy the Singapore cable, or should i use an adaptor for the japan plug?

Afternoon everyone, I’m building a 24’x36’ garage gym and want to build a surround sound system that will rattle your bones when lifting. I powerlift and want something that melts your face when you’re going for a personal record on deadlifts or heavy squats! I know very little about what setup would be the best to go with and was hoping for some guidance and recommendations on what you think would be the best for that. I appreciate any feedback.

Hi,I have had Sonos for many year, using  2 zone players to drive some hi-fi bookshelf speakers. This has worked well but we are now renovating and looking at the ERA 300 mounted on high on the wall to free up some space. These will be for music only not TV. I’m not interested in having built in speakers. Most of the listening will be in the sitting and dining area, I’m wanting to fill the space with music. Not intending on critical listening so thought ERA 300 will be better than Play 5sThe plan is to put an ERA 300 at points 1 and 2 on the diagram below. I have a few questions:I presuming that ERA300 would be powerful enough for this space? Number 2 will be near the ceiling so I will install the ERA 300 upside down, I presume that number 1 should also be placed upside down to match even though the ceiling is higher on that side? (see second pic for ceiling difference) As the speakers are so far apart (5m) I’m presuming they should be set up as separate zones rather than a left and rig

I'm looking to set up my home with Sonos. The living/dining space is about 450sqft. I'm thinking about starting with an Immersive Beam Set (Beam, Sub Mini, 2x 100s). I have a record player in this space that I use regularly, and an old Play:5 as the speaker. I was thinking about a Play:5 to Five upgrade, but I'm worried the Five would be overkill in a <500sqft space where there's also a Beam and Sub. Could the immersive set get me sound as rich as the Five in this space? My office is 150sqft and serviced by Vanatoo T0 desk speakers that I'd like to integrate. They are connected to the PC via USB. I need to make sure that I can go between sound from the PC to the speakers with no lag (for audio/video editing) while also being able to go through Sonos for whole home audio when needed. I'm a little confused on the Port's functionality but I'm wondering if it could be a solution here. If not, how else could I selectively integrate PC audio to the Sonos system?TIA

I have a set of play:1’s sitting on Sanus stands as part of my Sonos home theater system. One of them has been acting up and not working, so I need to replace it. I was thinking of just getting a new set of era 100s, but I’m not sure they will work with the existing stand. What current offerings work with that stand?  https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/sanus-floor-stand-pair-play1-play3-one
