What to get

Hi there, I have been searching around for an answer on this, and I am not sure. Help much appreciated. - I already have a good Denon AV Receiver with 5.1 set up. However, I want to have wireless rear speakers - If I buy a Sonos Connect and two Sonos Play:1's can I hook the Sonos Connect to my AV Receiver - And then have the two Play:1s talking to the Sonos Connect so I get true 5.1 sound delivered to the rears wirelessly? - I would also like to have my turntable hooked up to the same Sonos Connect, but I am not sure if I'd be able to do this as well? Hopefully this makes sense! Any help appreciated.

I connected Paybar to TV and two Play:1s in the rear. iPhone music playback I can rattle the walls and music comes out of the rear speakers. But when watch TV I only either hear background noise or none at all. What do I need to buy/connect to my Playbar to get TV voices in the background?

Hi, I am currently opening my own Micro bar. Whilst music wont be the driving force of the pub, it will still be on in the background and want to make sure it sounds great. The size of the room will be approx 580 sq ft. I will be playing off a tablet playing spotify. My question is, would a Sonos play:5 do the job for the entire space or would 2 Sonos Ones in opposite sides of room be better for sound quality? Many thanks in advance!!

Hello I purchased a pair of the Sanus Adjustable Speaker Stands_Sonos One/Play 1/Play 3_to mount a pair of Sonos One's. In the past I'd always gone with Flexson but I decided to give the Sanus brand a go. First impressions: They are well constructed with a weighted base. The adjustable rod is aluminum and the base is covered in a PVC plastic. The cable channel is a tuck n' conceal in the rear of the grooved adjustable rod versus the total conceal pass through of the Flexson brand. There are 3 mounts included_one for each type of Sonos speaker. The Play 1 and Play 3 actually screw into their custom support bracket. The Sonos One sits on a custom piece that slides into the cavity around the power cord where it attaches to the Sonos One base and is held by light padded friction. If you lift the Sonos One it will detach from the support bracket however the tension caused by the cable tuck and friction on the support base prevent the Sonos One from being dislodged by a sim

Hello Sonos people! My current system is a sort of a mess, and I'll do my best to explain it. I really only use it for 2 things, watching TV and whole house tunes when I have company over. I have a Vizio TV in the living room and the sound from the TVs built in speakers are pathetic. So I have it plumbed from my cable box to a basic Sony receiver and listen to 2 Sony speakers wired to that receiver. When I have people over or on the weekend when I want to listen to music, I typically listen to Pandora or Spotify that I airplay through an airport express that is then plumbed to that same Sony receiver and speakers set but I also have prewired outdoor speakers for the patio/ pool area that come from that same receiver. When I have both the outdoor and living room speakers going, the outdoor speakers sound decent enough, but I think the draw kills the power to the living room speakers as they sound like garbage. Hello there folks. Need help setting up with SONOS and it would be great if U guys could advise me on which products to buy. So, let me explain the situation: I am moving into my new home and plan to place sonos on the ground floor and on the bedroom upstairs. On the ground floor: I want a system that provides 5,1 sound from my tv as well as general music. I want to be able to do Alexa voice control. Due to the size of the tv (55") and the size of the living room I have decided for the playbar and sub and 2 Ones. Do I need a boost or use the home wifi? What are the advantages os conecting the playbar to a ethrnet port near the TV? Does it make the conection better for other speakers? Upstairs: bedroom is quite small, so what to buy? I am currently deciding whether to upgrade my current connect:amp to the new Amp or buy a sub instead. In my living room I currently have the following setup : Music :- Sonos Connect:Amp Mission QX-2 speakers Pro-Ject debut carbon Turntable Movies / TV :- Sonos Beam Play:1 x 2 as surround speakers I am trying to decide if it makes more sense to upgrade to the new amp or get the sub to make a 5.1 system. I have worked out two options Option 1 : Purchase the sub and leave everything as it is. The advantage of the sub for me is that as it is wireless I can hide it pretty much anywhere in the room. Option 2 : Upgrade the amp. If this was the case I would use it also for my home theatre and get rid of the beam and use my current hifi speakers for front left and right channel. I have an Audio-Technica AT-LP1240-USB Direct-Drive that I would like to add into my current setup and I want to know if the new Sonos Amp or perhaps a Play 5 will work. My current setup is the following: HD TV connected via optical to the Playbase w/a Sonos Sub and 2 Play 1's. My turntable is located right below the TV in a cabinet. I had previously looked into getting the Sonos Connect. The goal is to be able to play my vinyl through my Sonos sound system with the best sound possible and w/the least amount of cables (obviously 😉 ). The turntable I own has a built-in preamp w/both RCA and USB out. Any thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Hey all, I'm looking for some advise. Currently I have an old setup (like 6-7 years old, and it was already a budget option back then). It's starting to fall apart, quite literally tbh. As I want to upgrade it, I would love to get in the Sonos ecosystem. But I'm wondering if it's Worth it, and if yes what would be the best way for me to get in. Currently I'm thinking about getting a Beam, most likely together with 2x Play 1's. I like this, as I can also expand it in the future. Maybe even add in a sub, but those are a bit to expensive I guess. Would that be an overkill? Its coming in to a small appartement. The measurements/size of the living room are about 40m2 (8m (L) x 5m (W) x 4m (H). The ceiling is quite high at about 4 meters. Will this make any difference in which products to buy? Also, are there budget stands you can recommend? As it's a rental appartement, so I cannot drill walls. I'm not interested in a multi room setup, as its just a 1 bedroom apartment.

I recently purchased 4 Play:1 and a beam. I have 2 play:1 and the beam in my living room and 2 play:1 in my basement. I am looking at getting into vinyl. I am looking at the most economical setup. Any suggestions on a turntable setup that will play throughout the house? Can I just get a turntable then add a connect and play it throughout? Suggestions on turntables? A little confused on the difference of the connect and connect amp and if there is a cheaper solution... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Our living room is 20x16 feet. I have Denon AVR1601 Dolby Digital Audio/Video Receiver and JBL S26 speakers that I bought used 15 years ago. They still work but we don't use them much at all. We mostly use Spotify with the TV (Samsung Electronics UN40KU7000 40-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV -- 2016 Model). We are Apple users and would like to update the sound system setup, which has been clearly neglected. Our kitchen is 20x11 feet. The kitchen is close to the living room (no doors in-between). I just discovered Sonos and need advice. What kind of setup Sonos should I do for the kitchen and the living room? I'm thinking Sonos One for the kitchen. For the living room, I'm still confused. On one hand, I think Sonos Beam would be more than enough for the living room. Maybe expand from there later. In this case, I'll probably get rid of (sell?) my old speakers and receiver. I have a very nice 5.1 surround system which I use for watching movies in my man cave. I entertain there - often. When entertaining I will usually play music via Apple TV streaming from the collection on my server. (I even have some of my favorite commercials, MTV promos, and clips of VJs from the 80s.) I often also will cast videos from my iPad to the Apple TV (like when we are doing Karaoke - and for Karaoke I run the audio out the headphone jacks and through a PA instead of my 5.1 speakers) My parties often spill out onto my patio. I would like to be able to set speakers out there that can carry the music outside. I tried using bluetooth, but the Apple TV makes me choose between HDMI to the receiver or bluetooth - never both at once. I am suspecting that Sonos may be the way to do it, but I am concerned that if I try using Sonos with my Apple TV (or a replacement receiver) that it will be the same problem that I have with bluetooth; always be an either/or - never both.

I need some expert advice from the users here. I currently have Sonos through out the house but within my man-room I have my connect hooked up to my record player and it powers the speakers in there. I have a play bar, a sub and I have 2 Sonon 1's in this room. Hi, My father is a die-hard fan of the Logitech Squeezebox duet, which, unfortunately, we haven't been able to find a replacement for - the fact that you have several physical controllers that you can use in different rooms isn't something i have seen in other systems (here, first floor, ground floor, basement) - and carrying around around the mobile to control via app is not an option (he is older, but frankly I wouldn't myself want to carry around my mobile each and every time I want to switch music). Main use case is online radio. In brief, I just wanted to ask what components I need if I want the following set up: - input (here, Logitech Squeezebox, but could be anything really) via optical or cinch, which connects into the Sonos device (how is that signal then transmitted further to the other speakers? I'm trying to decide what I should get. Some background: I already have a Google home mini. I would like to use voice command for the new Sonos speaker I will get. I'm debating between One and Play 1 because I have heard the Sonos One doesn't seem to have the best mic to pick up your voice and Echo dot seems to be superior in that regard. However, a big negative thing with Echo dot and Play 1 is that I always have to say: Play X on "living room" etc. Haha I know its not the end of the world. 😉 But I guess when I have more Sonos devices that's something I need to do any way? (specify which speaker to play from) Unless I want the whole house to play in a group? 1) Play 1 and one Echo dot Or another route 2) Sonos One What would be the pros and cons for alternative 1 and 2? I guess what I'm trying to say, what are the disadvantages to go route 1 except that you have two devices(more extra space)?

Hi! I just bought some old and used Bowers and Wilkins speakers (DM302). I have heard them myself because I bought them online but watched some videos and it sounded very good. A few weeks ago I listened for the first time to a Play 1 speaker and was blown away by the sound quality. So my questions are, how will the sound be with these B & W compared to let's say two Sonos One/Play 1? I know that it might not be fair to compare this but how would the two B & W in stereo be compared to one Sonos One?

I just purchased a two story home, the house is prewired with Ethernet and coax, but no speakers. I will probably be doing the speaker wiring myself, but that's not the concern here. I have a few questions with the hypothetical setup, or if you guys can recommend a different better way to approach this would be phenomenal. My current setup: I have a Yamaha RX### that has 7.2 powered channels with a powered zone 2. 5.1 of those channels are fed to my floor standing speakers and sub, 2.0 channels are fed to my outside patio speakers. Hi guys, first post here. I’m considering changing the setup in my lounge but wondering just how good the Play ONE can sound in a pair? I currently have a Play:1 in the office, a Play ONE in the bedroom, Connect in the lounge ( going into Cyrus amp, CA DAC and PSB speakers) and Play:3 in the garage. I’m considering the change more for practical reasons as my current system sounds very good. Just wondering how a pair of ONE’s may compare to the Connect and Cyrus/PSB setup. Hi all, I own a project turntable that I'm running through an AV amp on my living room to 2 X monitor audio RX6s. I'm look to "Sonos" up my life! In the living room I plan to swap the AV amp for a Beam, and eventually upgrade with a sub & 2x Play:1s (maybe on black Friday!). The question I have is that I plan to move the turntable to our dinning room. It's a 11' X 15' room. One of the key features I'm looking for is that I don't need to turn the speakers or "amp" on, and that they start playing automatically when I play the turntable (which probably negates a Sonos Connect and dedicated Amp). Either way I'll be getting a pre amp but the choice I now have to make is below. I welcome your thoughts, comments or any other suggestions...
