What to get

So i started out with one Play:5 in my kitchen area, it sounded amazing, deep bass etc.., so i went and bought another one for my bedroom, my bedroom is huge and it didnt sound to great there so i moved the 2nd one into my master bathroom, it sounds amazing, then i bought another for our entry way, so now i have three Play:5's, all sound great, these things are starting to get expensive so in some random areas of my house i purchased 3 of the Sonos One's. Now i have 6 of these speakers and i almost feel like the nice clean sound i had is getting watered down, is it possible too many of these can actually cancel eachother out? Maybe i need a Sonos Sub? But if i get that i have no idea where to put it, i already have a nice 3 piece setup for my TV which isnt Sonos... decisions decisions...

I'm possibly going to order a Play:5, but do I want the Gen 2 version? And when was the second Gen launched? (How can I tell whether the unit I get is Gen 1 or 2?

Hiii guys,,,, I am new to the Sonos system and buying speakers in general. I am much more of a music listener then I am movie/tv surround experience. So far I just have two Play:1s and don't want to start getting to far down the road without considering the road to take for building the best music listening setup. So those of you that are true audiophiles, in your opinions, what is the best Sonos setup for the ultimate music listening experience? Hello, I saw the Sonos system and was impressed with it. The question I have is... I have two home theatre receivers..One of them is upstairs hooked up to speakers that are in the living room and kitchen, while the other one is downstairs hooked up to a home theatre. I want to be able to play the same music on both systems at the same time. I can't connect them with any cables since they are in different parts of the house. What Sonos equipment do I need to buy? Is it even possible? Thanks for your time and help.

I just purchased a beam (has not arrived yet). I have a fairly small house with small rooms. Each floor is probably 800 - 800 square feet. I'd like to buy a used play 1 or 3 to save some $$ but is it worth it and what is the earliest gen that would be compatible with the beam. Also, would the 1 be adequate for my size of home or would a 3 or 5 be a better choice for richness of sound.

We use an Amazon Fire Stick to watch TV. If I want to stream from the TV using a Beam, do I need to use an Alexa-enabled Sonos speaker? We passed on getting an Amazon Echo out of privacy concerns with Alexa (don't want anything in the house that is listening to all our conversations). And is it different if we use a Roku instead of a Fire Stick?

Is there any mount out there to buy to mount the beam to the TV's VESA mount? Like this one: https://www.flexson.com/by-sonos-product/sonos-beam/flexson-tv-mount-attachment-for-sonos-beam Unfortunately that mount has been out of stock for about 3 month. And they aren't even responding to emails. And to clarify. I DO NOT want a mount (vesa) to mount both the TV and the beam. I know those exists. And I don't want them. Just want to mount the beam to the existing vesa mount. Easy as that. 🙂

Hello I am setting up a new connection in my den area and was looking to setup an atmos. I was wondering if your system allows that.

I am currently re-doing my master bathroom. I have in-ceiling/wall speakers throughout my house and now is my chance to add something into the bathroom. Has anyone put in-ceiling speakers for their Sonos inside a shower? Obviously it would have to be water/moisture proof. I was thinking about putting one speaker in the main area of the bathroom and one speaker inside the shower. But I’m open to any other feedback or suggestions. I’m trying to figure out the best move and the associated budget. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm planning a setup for my bedroom. I am either going for a 3.1 or a 5.1 setup. My main uses will be Netflix or audio through Bluetooth. I have a few basic questions based on what I'm planning to purchase - Sonos beam as my centre speaker.. Two 1s as my surround and the sub 1) do I need an amp or this will work by itself by plugging just the beam to the TV. 2) do I need any wiring? Also since my 1s will be placed on the walls in the background, do I need a power socket right there to avoid any wires been seen? 3) I'm planning to buy it in USA and get it to India where I live. Will it work on a 220v powerline without the use of any power convertor? Thanks in advance!

Buying a few speakers in the Sonos system. For a small room, where theres no room for 5.1 surround setup Would you set up Two 2 Sonos ONES, via Airplay 2 for sound from Apple TV (Netflix and Itunes rented movies mainly, DirecTV occasionally) on each side of an LG TV/Apple TV 4K, pointed at the listener? Grouping them in the app for TV sound, and use the speakers for general music when not watching TV in this room. Or, would you buy 1 Sonos BEAM for TV sound, and 1 Sonos ONE in the room dedicated to music. I kind of liked the sound of two Sonos Ones on my left and right but it might be a hassle to have to activate them via Apple TV each time? Thank you.

Hi there, I have a Sonos Beam with my TV and am considering turning it into a stereo setup by adding two Play 1s or two Ones. As far as I understand the main difference between the Play 1 and One would be voice control. However, wouldn't it be possible for me to group the three device and then voice control the group using the Beam, or am I missing something here? Thanks in advance!

Hi guys. I have a friend coming from Mexico and he could bring a "gift" since, in Brazil, we cant buy the Sonos products. I have already own a playbar and a play 5. I live in a small apartment (80m2 or 861 ft2) and I want to add another sonos to the environment. Which should I buy: another play 5 or the first sub? Regards

I just bought a new car and I am enjoying my time in the garage more now. I usually bring in one of the Play 5 speakers and it sounds great. Would you mount two play one or two play 5 speakers in a standard two car garage for nice sound when I am detailing?

A discussion of Sonos speakers for outdoors listening.

Are all speakers outdoor speakers ?

I’m looking for three speakers to go on the wall’s in my recently renovated and extended kitchen dinner, which is quite large and has two distinct areas. The dinning area has a very high ceiling so has a large space to fill with sound. I’m undecided - should I go big and buy three Play 5’s or three One’s and a Sub. Reading other discussion groups the One’s would benefit from a Sub and they also have Alexa built in which I would use with my Hue lights, but would the Play 5 provide a much better sound and I then use an Alexa dot? If there is going to be a replacement to the now discontinued Play 3 before Christmas then that could be an alternative option that I wait for?

Hi all, My wife and I are in the process of fitting out 2 dance studios - both 8m x 7m x 3m. We have had a studio in the past, and used a more traditional receiver/ amp/ passive speaker setup. Was initially heading towards that again, when I thought perhaps Sonos could work? And if so, what setup? While I did do quite a bit of research on Sonos about a year ago for our home, I haven’t really used the system myself (ended up with a more traditional setup at home in the end). We would have 2 classes running different music simultaneously, and being controlled separately by 2 different teachers - I presume this is possible? Thanks in advance!

The image is my living room, I have a small rented flat and I was wondering with this layout if there is any point to have a 5.1 setup (consisting of 2 of SONOS PLAY:1, 1 of SONOS PLAYBAR , 1 of SONOS SUB and set of floor stands) I know it’s odd but I mainly use my beanbag (I really don’t care for a sofa lol). I don’t have much room but I was wondering if it can be connect wirelessly (speakers, sub and sound bar) i really don’t want to bother with wires unless it’s for the power. Would I need anything else like a sono bridge? My wi fi is in the kitchen (stupid place I know) and i have a sonos up stares to play my radio stations on my hi fi in my bedroom. I will be getting an Xbox one (which model I’m not sure??) to play 4k too. Kind regards

I know this has probably been asked before but I hoped to ask the question a bit more specifically to my situation. I currently have 5 Play One speakers and would like to learn how to play Vinyl thru them. Been trying to piece together how to do this. Seems like i just need to have a turntable with RCA output (preamp not necessary) and a Connect:Amp and then I should be able to play my albums on the turntable, thru any of my Play:1 speakers via my phone Sonos App. Is this correct? Before I go out and drop $350 on a Connect:Amp I want to be sure this is what I need. Thank you for you help...Andy B

could I output the sound from a MacBook Pro wirelessly via a Connect to an amp whilst watching the movie via an HDMI connection tp an outdoor projector?

I am going to set up a Sonos system with multiple (3) zones. I have six Play one speakers and a Playbar for TV. I plan on having one zone upstairs and two zones downstairs. Do I need any other Sonos hardware or can I just simply set what I have up and create zones through the Sonos connect app?

Hi All Moving to a new house which has a downstairs surround system consisting of a Yamaha Amp with 5 indoor speakers (inside surround for projector room) and 2 outdoor speakers on the pool patio. From my understanding, it contains MusicCast and can be separated (ie TV inside and music outside etc). I currently have 2 play 1’s, 1 Play 3, and 1 Play 5. My question is, is there a good way to establish a whole home system with individualized components? My tech guy is rwcommending another Yamaha system on the main level with in wall speakers and Music Cast. My original idea was a Sonos Beam and Sub on main level TV with the two play 1’s as sureound. Using the Play 3 in my bedroom and my play 5 somewhere else. Then buying a connect to control the entire Yamaha system in the media room. I realize I’d lose the ability to control the 5 speakers inside and 2 outside with the connect, but I could do this on the Yamaha amp itself. Does that sound like the best way to contro
