Would love to see a cord with the flat, low profile type plug on it (the end that goes into the wall outlet)
So we all remember the debacle last year when we were told that our older devices wouldn’t be getting updates after a certain time, but we could brick them for recycling and get 30%. According to Sonos I had several devices that would fall into this category, but everything else was good to go. Now I login and I’m told my Sound Bar and two of my Play:1 speakers aren’t compatible with S2, which I’ve downloaded and seems to be working great with them...but hey, according to Sonos I should upgrade them...but this time they’re only giving a 15% upgrade credit. Why do I feel like we’re getting bent over again?
So Sonos had their current quarter earnings call that exceeded the market’s expectations and more. This was after a few quarters of truly mediocre results. So what’s next for them? Just wanted to open it up to see what’s next for Sonos.
I’ve never done this before, had a terrible experience and posted it. But this frustrated me and the lack of support was disgusting. If I wanted this type of quality I would have bought a Samsung or Sony box system for half the price. But no, we all bought Sonos because of the expected quality of the product. Here’s my experience, take from it what you want… For only two years I enjoyed the sound quality from my Sonos system only to find for absolutely no reason whatsoever last night, the Sub quit working... Strange right? it has been in the same place on the same settings since I bought it. All of a sudden, no lights, no power, nothing... Contacted support and ran through a bunch of troubleshooting options only to confirm, the sub power supply is dead. Wow, only after two years. I've never abused the system, the sub has always been in a well ventilated safe place - this must be a one off right? A faulty sub? Wrong!!! This is a very common problem, just search it in these message board
I have now owned my Arc for three weeks and for the first two days it worked great. Then gradually it started to experience sound cut-outs and although I have followed all of the recommendations on this site and Reddit, the issue persists. The culprit seems to be the built in Netflix App which we like to use because it has better scene search/skip options. My TV is a Bravia KD65XH9005 with the latest update from Sony (last week) and the Arc is also on the latest version. The Arc is connected to HDMI 3 and an Apple TV 4K to HDMI 4 (both are set to enhanced mode). There is also a Nintendo Switch on HDMI 1 (Standard) and an old Humax on HDMI 2 (Standard). Switching the TV audio from the Arc to TV speakers and then back again fixes it but it is now getting very irritating.
Trying to view my Subscriptions gives a error.Probably related - no number is shown in my profile menu:
Hello, I was thinking that it could be great to have a Sonos Web App for control a Sonos System. It will allow to have a Desktop controller app compatible with all OS (Linux, Max, Windows, etc). And it would be an easy solution for people who cannot Install software, too. Kind regards, Ian
Well, about a year ago, I used a Sonos Speaker (don’t remember which one, I remember it was white and kinda round but also tall). I used it because it was set up in a lodge I rented for a few days to go skiing. So, I set up an account and linked my Spotify to it. Well, yesterday, someone, who probably rented the same lodge as I did, connected to the Sonos speaker, and my Spotify account started playing random songs on my phone. There is absolutely no way I can get to that speaker to reset it since it’s in the lodge. I tried to go unlink devices in the Sonos App, but all of the Settings are greyed out, is there anything I can do, because I don’t want to create a new Spotify account because of this. Thanks
I used to be able to play my own music from my iPhone music library but I have not been able to do so for a long time. My collection of 5 sonos speakers (multiple Play:1, Soundbar & sub) are just sitting in the rooms collecting dust while waiting for sonos to come up with a reasonable simple solution (via either an app update or a service to the app). Disappointingly, I don’t think this is going to happen after reading sonos’ responses to other users with the same problems. I will never buy any sonos product again because it’s not just a waste of money, it a bloody waste of time too!
Hi Sonos,I have been a loyal customer and strong supporter of your products for many years. Now you are telling me that a number of my products are incompatible with your Sonos S2 and needs to be replaced or moved to a separate system that no longer will be supported. This is a huge disappointment to me and causing me to lose my trust and appreciation of your brand. I’m not expecting you to change your strategy, and I will follow your recommendation and update my system (with a brand that I can trust and admire), but I will for sure NOT spend more money on Sonos and I will STOP promoting Sonos to my friends. thx….
Hi all,Hope everyone is safe and healthy! I just got my Sonos arc and I am in market to buy a new TV. I understand not all TVs are compatible with Sonos to give the best experience. Can you please recommend a few tv models which work well with Sonos? There is no constraint on budget. I was thinking to get any TV with eArc, but seems like that alone also won’t solve the problem.
Problem:In a multiple family household, it’s possible for each member of the family to have their own own login to a particular service. However, you can’t associate that service to a particular Sonos within the house.I know in our household, I’ve setup the accounts on my controller, and now Apple Music is convinced that I’m really into Broadway showtunes, “Julie and the Phantoms”, and lullaby versions of popular songs. These are being played by my kid’s in their rooms, and they never remember to select their service/account to play from (especially because most of the time they are just telling Alexa to play something, so it just goes against the main account). Proposed Solution:Allow for a service/account to be associated to a particular player in the house. For example, if Amy had Sonos in her room, then we want to say always play Apple Music (or Spotify) on Amy’s Sonos from Amy’s accounts.
I am enjoying the new Sonos radio, and having been listening to the Concert Hall station. it is reasonably well curated and I have heard some good an interesting recordings. However, it becomes almost unlistenable because the station usually plays only one movement from a piece of music. This is fine for background music, but makes it intolerable for serious music discovery. Very few companies take classical music streaming seriously, but Sonos is well positioned to be better. I hope that they up they make their service better for classical enthusiasts.
Seriously...it barely works 40% of the time. A) I t can’t handle my full playlist, so I can’t listen to all my liked songs on random. B) Most of the time, it just says “connecting” for 3 or 4 minutes and then never connects. Rebooting phone, router, speakers...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.Oh...and yeah, I’m running the latest versions of Sonos, Spotify, iOS, router firmware, etc.
What happened to the Funk?
never seen such bad service For many days now I have been asking by email or through this community to send me an invoice by mail or by this community ...No reaction from support or sales ...I really thought sonos was a serious business ...So disappointed with my mistake ...it is certain that I will not recommend sonos products to my friends ...if they are not able to send a simple invoice I am afraid if I have a problem with my sonos move about the service they will offer me
Hi Sonos! I would love if the the S2 app were rearranged such that instead of having to navigate to the individual room setups to adjust the EQ, there were an EQ option under System Setting that had sliders for every room. If there were a toggle that could sort by option (bass, treble, loudness) and then by room or the reverse, that would be perfect.
After upgrading to desktop controller version 12.2.2, several of my old Sonos components are no longer visible, and can therefore not be used with the controller. They work fine with the old sonos controller version. Is this Sonos way of trying to force me to throw the older hardwre components away and buy new ones. The old ones works fine. Not even giving me a choice or a heads up when installing the new software controller. Very unethical and immoral. Is this correct Sonos? I hope I’m wrong! I’m aware that new hardware features may not work with old software. Fine, but not supporting old hardware in new software is almost criminal. What if General Motors made their old cars stop working after a software update..?? Best,-tk
Anyone have any experience with placing a Sub directly on a floor that is heated with hydronic radiant tubes? Just wondering if the heat would eventually damage the speaker cabinet or inner workings. should the Sub be insulated from the floor, or set above it?
Iam currently using version 12.2.2 and was working until yesterday and today it stopped working with a message 'unable to connect to sonos, learn moreI have tried to reset app, reconnect the playbar, sub, play speakers but nothing changed, this ain't the first time this is happening. Could someone help pls???I'm using wireless router to connect and still the same issue and it's bloody disappointing and annoying!!!
I find my room’s humidity to be at 27-30% these days, due to extreme cold in the Northeast USA.I have a humidifier running, but wonder if this low-ish humidity can have a long term negative affect on the speaker surrounds…..I assume(and hope) that Sonos took this into consideration upon the design….Thanks in advance for any input
I've order a sonos product for 6 days now every the date for delivery changes I wanna why ? This is unacceptable!!I was supposed to get it yesterday.
As a listener, I wish my Sonos One could hear my voice commands when music is playing at higher volumes so that I don’t have to turn it down or use my phone in order to control the speaker.Look at the Amazon Echo Input as an example. I have one of those as well, and it does a really cool trick: when it is streaming music, it filters the music stream from its mic input. I can have the music up loud, and still very quietly utter an Alexa command and it will “hear” me and respond. That’s an awesome feature! I’d love it if my Sonos One could do that.
