Have a chat with other Sonos owners. What's going on in the world of music and technology? What's playing?

I’m new to the forum and can’t figure out how to navigate to the question I posted yesterday; but I’d like to add that the problem I’d encountered with the 800 error code and failure to update must have been an internal issue with the Sonos website as it self corrected this morning. Today I was able to successfully get my app to update and properly set up my boost. I would add that the Sonos2 app does not properly reflect the procedure for installing the boost.
I've read a lot about the S2 upgrade. I have old products and while I don't love the whole S1 , S2 compatibility issues with the hardware I'm here because of the oft repeated statement “ you can continue to use the S1 controller same as you always have”. This however doesn't seem to be the case. It seems that I can no longer use the Sticher podcast service unless I updrade to the S2 controller. Am I missing something here or are the poor S1 holdouts going to be squeezed out one service at a time? Jason
I use the Sonos Controller on MacBook Pro (Intel) and I like to add artists and song to the queue to play them then save them. It would be nice to save more playlists from the queue or save it locally (on my machine) but I keep getting there is not enough room. Then I remove an old playlist, but it still cannot save the playlist. Would be nice to add songs in a batch select to a playlist. Drag and Drop song to a playlist -- with multiple selections also.
when ? u used to have it , sonos are used for movies , movies take place in the dark , this should be a no brainer and so easy to implement.
So I didn't want to have to post on here but I feel it's my only choice as I'm ready for pulling me hair out. It's difficult enough dealing with a mental illness never mind having to keep calling customer support and emailing them to be fobbed off.All I want to do is get the items returned because they are no use for what I need. Despite letting Sonos know of my predicament plus not being able to get to a printer or leave the house I'm promised it will be dealt with. It's nearly 2 weeks now, i'm no further forward and this evening I just had an email asking me to print of labels and arrange a collection myself just a generic email. How difficult is it for this company to understand and do what they say to customers.I get the feeling they are being extremely difficult with me so I dont return the goods. I hope Somone from Sonos sees this and helps as I'm getting rather frustrated by this and for my health it's not best to be in this situation. I just want to return the goods and get my
Does Sonos display any message when playing a Hi-Res audio track (e.g. 192 kHz) similar to displaying ‘Dolby Atmos’ etc. I have just signed up to Qobuz and it would be useful to see such a message.
Inadvertently, downloaded S2 app and my Sonos speakers are S1 compatible. When deleted S2 app, and reinstalled S1 app, it only shows S2. Can I delete app and reinstall S1 app as currently all speakers not working as says not compatible on S2 app?
I have recently purchased an Arc for my new TV and am impressed with the sound. So much so that I also purchased 2 subs, and 2 surrounds and it sounds even better now. Having said that, there are some shortcomings. I subscribe to Qobuz which has music at 24 bit 192 khz. Currently the max I can get out of my Sonos setup is capped at 48 khz. I would like to be able to listen at the best quality Qobuz offers. I also noticed that Bluesound has products that can go that high. I hope this can be remedied by a simple software update or by some other means. If local wireless bandwidth is a concern, perhaps give the option for the highest quality to those of us that have gigabit ethernet networks and wire their Sonos products, myself included. In addition to the above, the user experience when using the Sonos controllers to play Qobuz is severely lacking in features and information available on the Qobuz app. I think the better option would be to switch this to direct control from the Qobuz app
Hi. Just wanted to share my (frustrating) experience with ordering a Sub on backorder. On 3rd of February I order a Beam and a Sub. Beam is in stock, am charged for it instantly and it gets delivered on time. Sub is put on backorder for 12th of February. On 11th of February I receive an email saying Sonos was unable to charge my card due to some issue on THEIR side. They suggest calling support. I call sales support. My previous order is cancelled. New is created on my behalf and I will now have to pay for an invoice via bank transfer. I am promised that my location in "backorder queue” will be kept and I will not need to wait for weeks+. As you can imagine, order is created - estimated delivery 19th of February (so I have lost my backorder queue, irregardless to what the sales rep said). I have to call again later that day to receive the invoice (although 1st sales rep said it'd be sent asap). I receive invoice, pay for it immediately. No email confirmation for 1 day. Next day I call a
I am using Amp to power 2 pairs of outdoor speakers. One pair will be located in the back of the house and the other in the Front. I will be connecting each pair to a single channel on the Amp. Is it safe to use the Balance control to essentially turn off the front speakers while using the back speakers or the other way around?
This may be way off the mark and totally impractical but bearing in mind that Sonos speakers now have built in microphones that listen for Alexa or Google etc.. would it be possible for Sonos to listen for sounds in the house that are unexpected or do not belong there? ie use the speaker as an intruder alarm, listening for breaking glass or noises when the occupants have left the house? Admittedly its not an area that Sonos are currently interested in but could some cleaver programming make this possible thereby increasing the use of the expensive speakers. It could even be developed to be used as a baby monitor. The list goes on and I can hear people saying about their human rights being infringed but there would have to be the ability to switch this on and off through the app.
Hello, I just wanted to provide a thank you for good support regarding a Sonos Five that died on me.It took about 48 hours from first contact with customer support on a warranty issue ( as it turned out to be ) where the unit needed replacement until i had my replacement unit up and running in my home. I did choose the option that they were to ship the replacement after receiving my unit ( did not want to hassle with a credit card to speed things up ). One hour after UPS picked my parcel up, i received a notification that the replacement unit was shipped. I had estimated a 5 day turn over so this was a really nice experience. Thank you Sonos for that. Regards, //Lennart
Maybe a week or so back I changed the email on my Sonos account, coming to the Community forums here today I was prompted to create a Community username. My forum account was disassociated. I changed my email back and voila I’m back into my existing forum account. Maybe I’ll try changing it again, see if it updates across both this time. Not sure how to proceed...
I am sure this must have been requested before BUT can you look to add a feature in the app where you can save your setting for watching TV and then for listening to music? It’s frustration to have to keep changing it when you move from watching to listening and vice versa.
I have a beautiful new Arc with subchannels and subwoofer. It’s Amazing!! The only problem is that when I rent the house on AIrbnb and my renters click play, they are using my Spotify credentials. Which means I can’t play Spotify myself at the same time. I was literally out for a walk playing Spotify and fighting with a renter and didn’t realize it. Pretty please fix this for Airbnb hosts.
Ran across this article and thought it was an interesting topic of discussion. https://www.musicradar.com/news/an-audio-engineer-explains-why-dolby-atmos-music-is-definitely-going-to-supersede-stereoDo others agree that atmos is going to supersede stereo? I don’t, for a few different reasons.1 - We have decades of music recorded in stereo, music which is still highly consumed. Attempts to modernize that music in to Atmos (Tidal) simply don’t sound right. Of course, that doesn’t mean new music can’t be recorded in atmos, but unlike movies where you can upgrade to atmos and the audio comes out ‘right’, the same can’t be done for music.2 - Live music comes from a stage, not from all around you. I would argue that even when you can an original track in atmos, it doesn’t sound right to the brain since we instinctively know that music comes from a stage. It always has throughout history. Again, movies are different.3 - Keeping with the live music aspect, I don’t know that artists want
Cadillac has Bose, Lincon has Revel it would be nice to see SONOS in a luxury car brand, preferably American Luxury brand. I personally hope they could swip Lincon from Revel. lol Though Revel is okay as it is a Samsung own brand and connected to JBL, Harmon Kardon, AKG and etc.
Just a little light hearted bantercr200 What a great piece of kit. Why's it not on the list of items I own. Surely it should be in the hall of fame. I'll miss this when it finally gives up the ghost 👻 or Sonos finally pull the plug on it. As I'm sure they will.🔌
I have noted that Sonos removes posts and topics on subjects, products and policies it would rather not seen discussed. Are there any other forums that are not policed by the Sonos speech police?
It would be great if you could add a feature that allowed automatic grouping. If you ask for a song or radio station that is already playing on another speaker. It would make sense that Sonos would automatically group it so you didn’t get the echo effect.
I'm looking to order a speaker set consisting of the Arc, sub and 2 Ones. Sonos is showing out of stock. Does anybody know when the likelihood of these being available to order?.…Seems like either Sonos is hugely popular or their stock management is pretty non existent. After reading a few comments its not looking good. Appreciate the unprecedented times we're facing but you would think given the quality of the product its a shame the online ordering is not so good.
Hello, I can’t find the email support address for support issues?
I have many many playlists and albums. Scrolling the long lists of alphabetical details is frustrating and time consuming. It would be very helpful if clicking on the letter of a section would collapse the lists to a list of alphabetical letters. This would speed up locating the correct section. Clicking on the desired letter would display the entries that started with that letter, This sure would make the application easier to use.
I know this probably falls under “silly” but hey a guy can ask. I really like the earned Badges. They are simple black and white (like Sonos speakers) but just have a cool aesthetic to them. Wondering if it would be possible to have Sonos either send these out as 2” or 3” circles as we earn them (we could even pay for shipping as it would be like less than a $1) or email us when we do with a hi-res file to print it as a sticker. Maybe expand the badge out and add in the Sonos logo underneath. As someone who decorates all kinds of stuff with various stickers (water bottles, laptop, etc.) it would be a really inexpensive marketing campaign to promote Sonos but also be a little bit of an insider thing as well. Thoughts?
Aujourd'hui je trouve ça dommage qu'une marque comme Sonos n'ai aucun autre moyen de communiquer si ce n'est que de parler l'anglais pour interagir avec ces clients.
