Product idea- offer something to replace and fill in the holes in my walls where the home intercom system devices were installed.
Systems typically have a centrally located master control that could be replaced w a device to run Sonos App. It typically has a doorbell intercept wire and a microphone and a wire to each remote intercom unit. I’d bet Sonos could build a retrofit adapter kit and do something cool to give these homes a modern update to resurrect these features.
Such a product already exists and is made by Brilliant.

Notice that it can be used to control Sonos and other smart home devices, and has the intercom feature built it. I’m not sure it’s going to fill the holes in your walls though, as it’s designed to replace light switches, not old intercom units.
