Ok, just got the Sonos Roam. Is the power button really this awful or do I have a bad unit? I’ve read some threads of same problems I am having. If this is normal, then it’s a fatal flaw. It’s just awful. Completely unresponsive and borderline useless. I am legacy S1. I cannot try my Roam until I remove all my S1 products and upgrade to S2. However, my replacement speakers are on “back order “. So, cannot cut the S1 ones off just yet. The Roam sits on a shelf, useless. my issue is, do I return it now so I don’t go beyond the return window while I wait my new speakers? I am worried the Roam may not work at all. The power button has me really concerned. Spent the extra money to have a full Sonos system. But maybe I should just go JBL for the BT speaker. They are reliable .
I bought a pair of Sonos Five and they were shipped with DHL. I waited all morning for the carrier without hearing the doorbell or a call. Suddenly I received an email and a sms saying that delivery had been attempted but that it was not at my address. My shipping address was missing the letter of the apartment. On my purchase receipt, and the DHL receipt, the letter doesn’t appear. Those kind of details that people who do things wrong don't care about, make customers lose whole days. I like Sonos, but there is a difference between the brand image they convey, and the price, and a ton of setbacks and heartaches they bury their customers with. Now I'm worried about whether the changes Apple is going to make to Airplay 2 will carry over to existing Sonos products, or force the purchase of a new generation of speakers. When your business is not selling products to new customers but selling only to those who have already bought some from you, the business closes early. And if they don't ev
I’ve watched Sonos do shady things with their apps over the last decade. It went from assuring users that there was no need to update the app -“We would never force anyone to update their app to allow their system to work” I was once told - to collecting user data, etc. Then came the infamous recycle program. Well, now it seems the nefarious nature of the first and second issues have merged to become one and Sonos looks to be forcing units off-line in order to force users to replace older units, even if the old unit was working just fine.My ZP-120 (which is the most-seldom used unit of my system) worked perfectly fine until I updated my app. Then, suddenly “poof” it no longer would even power up. I was on at least 5 phone calls with Sonos, and no one could figure it out. While I was on hold for 20+ minutes, I started poking around to see how many others had this problem. IT WAS A LOT. Not all of them seem tied to app upgrades, but the timing of my failure was beyond coincidental
I have 5 Sonos devices. All been working fine. Half way through the day, 4 disappear from the app. Managed to reconnect most, but my beam now won’t connect to the wifi. Wifi is fine, and the connected devices are working. This has happened a few times and is really annoying. Was considering more Sonos devices but not sure it’s worth it now
I see SONOS connects to multiple dozens of music and other services. I want the same ability to have app integration, air-play or "cast" audio from my Peloton Android bike to Sonos. The speakers that come with the bike are week. This would be a great feature and really spice up the workout experience. It would also benefit SONOS for users (and there are many like me) that want more sound when they work out. Bluetooth is not enough as I have the workout room setup with speakers through a SONOS port. I would think its best to setup like Pandora, Apple Music, Spotify and similar services. An “airplay” type of casting to a SONOS one would be secondary as an option here. Summary: Connect both services, benefit tens of thousands (they have millions) of Peloton users. The benefit goes into exposure to SONOS for these new users. The byproduct is the benefit of better sound than the tiny speaker built into the bike. Reach out if you would like this feature added!
Hi there,im currently building a stud wall to house the tv and ARC sound bar. Because the bar is going to be recessed is there a certain clearance needed for the side and upwards firing speakers? many thanks
I accept I have to listen to ads if I don’t subscribe to the PRO, Premium, VIP service. That’s fine. What about the volume of the ads? Does SONOS have to crank up the volume so much? It’s jolting! I read another similar comment elsewhere on these pages and the answer was something along the lines of “ it depens [not on us but] on who is serving the ads.” Thanks but I don’t buy it. The high volume ads is an old radio tactic so the excuse is invalid. SONOS: WOULD YOU PLEASE TURN THE VOLUME DOWN FOR THE ADS? or TURN IT UP FOR EVERYTHING!
Currently the Sonos port has about a two minute delay after the music stops before it turns off the 12 V trigger. It would be very nice if the Sonos software allowed for an adjustable delay of five or 10 or 15 or 20 or 30 or 60 minutes. Sometimes it’s nice to be able to pause the music for a short phone call etc and afterwards start listening to music again, but the short delay means my big Adcom amp has to warm up again which takes about a minute on its own. thanks!
Alright, byebye. I have a playbase, 2 sonos one gen 2 and two sonos roam to give away. what a crappy and overpriced system. sooo many issues, so much hassle. router. connection, reset, yadiyah. man, i just wanna listen to music. putting on a good old boom box now. gee… sonos… sad.
I bought 1 Sonos S5 and 3 Sonos 3 a few years ago.it cost me some amount of money thinking that I had a system that could last for a certain time.then Sonos developed S2 which is not compatible with the previous generation. This forces the customer to let down their previous equipment and change the whole system. This is and stupid scheme of planned obsolescence which not acceptable with current sustainable policies and for this reason, I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE TO BUY SONOS EQUIPMENT ANYMORE UNLESS THEY CHANGE THEIR POLICY AND FIND A WAY TO MAKE THEIR 1st gen system compatible with the S2 App.Next time I buy a music equipment I’ll avoid SONOS.What a disappointment !!!Stéphane Begue.
I think this is for everyone (if not mods will delete and I apologize) but got an email for a cool free event this Saturday. Not a fan of this style of music but will tune in because it’s pretty unique and BEST of all, it’s FREE! Let’s support this so we can maybe get some more of these events. Thanks Sonos! Stay in with Sonos Radio Order in dinner and enjoy an evening of jazz with legendary musician Joey DeFrancesco, performing live from the historic Van Gelder Studio. Tune in from the Sonos app. Saturday, May 15 9:00 PM EDT
Hi, just a word of warning to Sonos UK customers returning faulty items to Ivy Technology in Poland via a prepaid Waybill with DHL. My DHL pickup was refused this morning as despite following the returns instructions to the letter Sonos omitted in these instructions the need to provide a commercial invoice with the package.DHL driver didn’t help by just refusing the package and driving off but that’s another issue. So, due to Brexit, you’ll need to fill out an invoice and tax information, hopefully Sonos will see this and update instructions for UK customers.
Is this somehow related to Sonos beta testing? Several people have emailed me regarding this. I received it from a different address than the one I use for Sonos. Is this just more google spam?
Please introduce a delay compensation for Sonos Port connected traditional speakers. Whatever you connect to your Sonos Port will inevitably introduce additional delays - it’s just a question whether it’s audible.I have Dynaudio wireless speakers in the Living Room (who use a Port as their source) and a Sonos speaker in my open kitchen (which I keep on selling/re-buying because it’s an annoyance both ways). There is a slight echo effect between these speakers.Ideally delay compensation would be a feature of the app, where the mic of the phone can be used to bring a sonos port and sonos speakers in perfect sync.I have no issue with the artificially high pricing of the sonos port, but in return I do expect a well working product - and for the purpose a Port is used that delay compensation IMHO is a core feature that I simply expected to be present.
Since one keeps hearing over and over about Sonos not being a HiFi system - leave alone a audiophile one, whatever that means - I thought of starting a conversation on the subject. Perhaps there will no takers…but most of us are locked down, so let’s see:-).To start the ball rolling, for those that do NOT see the best of Sonos - a 5 pair + Sub - to be worthy of the HiFi label, can we hear from you specifying the cheapest system that you have found to be HiFi, playing in the same room and using the same source music files used for ruling out Sonos? It would help if you named the speakers, and also amp used if the speakers are passive ones, and its cost. And then say, what is it that, in your opinion, confers the HiFi label on that system. Note that there is no reason for something to be considered cheap just in comparison to Sonos price points; it should just be the cheapest System you know that does HiFi. Never mind if it costs less, same or more than the 5 pair+ Sub.
I deeply want to get rid of those terribly annoying ads that strongly affects my consideration for Sonos. I just can’t understand why Sonos tolerates such invasive behaviour from their partner. I pay for Spotify and YouTube music and I still get useless and untargeted stupid ads from TuneIn radio. I have no other choices to listen to my local radio. No comments among the numerous amount of post I read found THE solution to this real plague.
DearsI was ripped off whilst I was selling 3 Play:1 second hand.I don’t have any contact details of the guy, but I have the serialnrs of the Play:1If I file a complaint at the local police, could Sonos disable these PLAY:1 as the are still listed in my system. rgds Luc
Its more of a suggestion Feedback. Would be great to have a EQ mode which voice enhances Podcast. I would imagine it to work very similar to the „voice enhancement“ button for the tv. Just for all the speaker, similar effect, as podcasts can lack that clarity sometime or are to bass heavy.
I am new to the Sonos community and product lines. I ordered an Arc and Gen 3 sub at the same time on 4/15/21 and was met with, what I would consider, a very long delivery timeframe. This seems par for the course these days and I accepted it given there isn't much of a different option to get them faster. Fast forward they both shipped on 4/30/21 for delivery on 5/7/21, this seems like forever in today’s shipping times but okay. So we planned a family movie night to show off the fancy new equipment. The FedEx delivery stated Out for Delivery all day causing a lot of anxiety that it wasn't going to actually deliver. Finally, at around 7:15 at night (not very family friendly time to start setting things up) a single package arrived. It was the sub only! This does no one any good to get the sub by itself first! The arc isn't coming until next Tuesday now. This is certainly first world problems I understand that but this gear is very expensive and this was a terrible introduction to the So

Hi,I know a wifi connection is the preferred connection to configure your Sonos products, but I reckon we should have the ability to configure some, if not all of the settings for our Bluetooth-enabled Sonos products. I own a Sonos Roam and I do not have a constant internet connection due to an incompatible wifi network and every time I wish to configure my Sonos Roam, I have to look for a compatible wifi network. I know the Sonos Roam is still a wifi-first, bluetooth-second product but I don’t think the ability to adjust basic settings such as Alarms, EQ, etc. would be too much to ask for.Kind regards,CleffyHeft
Just got the Roam. Was very excited to buy it. Unfortunately it is not S1 compatible. Setting up a split system with S1 and S2 seems unnecessarily complicated, take down S1, add S2, recreated S1, etc. Alternatively I could just throw out my first generation S5 speakers and replace them at $500 a piece - oh wait, there is the 30% discount … seriously? The whole thing just turned into a very frustrating experience. I have been a Sonos customer for a loooong time - will use my current system for the time being but done with Sonos. Company does not stand behind it’s products and obviously doesn’t value long-time customers.
I’ve had an Arc now for about 2/3 months and I love the thing, I’m currently watching The Mandalorian as we speak, but I can’t help but think my room/trueplay isn’t getting the most out of the Atmos up-firing speakers.Trueplay does a pretty good job on the whole in terms of frequency response etc but I don’t think it’s all the way there yet with the level of the up-firing speakers. When I turn Trueplay off when watching Atmos content, and I know the upward speakers are in use, the level of them increases quite a bit, so all I ask is a setting in the app to control this, in exactly the same way as the surround speakers currently work. I’ve tried many different ways of measuring for Trueplay to try and rectify this but none of them seem to work, as obviously the algorithm thinks they must be too loud, and I disagree!
I’m sure I’m not the only person who has a head like a sieve and forgets where I left things (and has a fear of small but high value items being stolen, too). Apple recently announced that the Find My network now offers new third-party finding experiences. (See more here). I think it would be really great if the Roam (and other portable speakers) shipped with an option of having Find My built in. SONOS should apply to get into Apple’s MFi programme and start developing/manufacturing products with that the Find My feature built in. Images source: Apple Inc.
