I have been trying to figure out what had happened to my setup with Play1, Mini Sub and Playbar… and have discovered a community who are feeling as I do. It is unfortunate that we were made to be an experiment and have our ‘sound’ lives turned upside down. I am not the “teckiest” but can get by….but this latest blunder is going to be a week’s worth of devotion to try and figure out how to fix it. After reading some of the comments, I have deleted the new app from my iPhone and will delete it from my iPad….my laptop has the old SONOS app on it….so I will keep it and try to muddle through until SONOS decides that their timeline is effective in fixing all of the issues that they have bestowed upon their customer base. I am seriously thinking of jumping ship .. very bad, very unprofessional...just so odd why SONOS would do this without first testing it….
Why did you do this,I consider another system right now,it is terrible, all changed, no connection.****!!! Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
After disappointment with being unable to connect my £500 Move 2 and bracket to my app and existing whole house Sonos system i am trying to return. printed off labels packed back in box however the instructions given and illustrations do not match the UPS form so how on earth do i return? can I just stick label on boxes and take to UPS store?
I have purchased 6 ROAMs over the past couple of years. 3 of them have completely died and not rechargeable. I was able to speak to customer support before the app change and have had one replaced. I am trying to get the other 2 replaced but cannot get through to support. Wait times over the past few days have been 145 minutes, 75 minutes, 80 minutes, and 60 minutes. The Live Chat is mostly unavailable. The one time I got a live person, they ended the chat mid chat and no I didn’t go idle for 5 minutes. The one time I waited 75 minutes and got a person, they disconnected me after 3 minutes of conversation. Please let me know when you have time to help me. Thanks
Hallo since the latest update manage network is emty i cannot add it also when i go to my device its not showing a network.
I currently own more Sonos products than I can count, at least 15 to the tune of probably $10k. They have been reliable for the most part and, in the past, when they were not, I simply called Sonos and the unit would be exchanged for a working one in a simple quick, understandable transaction. The last time I had an issue was several years ago.Fast forward to the present. Without question, the absolute WORST customer service!!!!! I recently purchased 2 Roams. The charging wire on one of them was defective. I called Sonos to replace the wire. Very long story short, after over an hour on the phone which included the necessity of a video over my phone to show the defective wire, Sonos told me I would have the wire within 3 to 5 business days. 10 days later - nothing. I called again and spent more than 2 full frustrating hours on the phone with 3 different people 2 of which disconnected me and did not call back. All three representatives asked me the same exact questions at least 10 times
I performed the true play steps but it doesn’t save the information
I listen to my tuner radio stations a lot, after new updates both recently played and favourite stations do not work, something went wrong message appears. I can still get the stations to play by finding them again but it is a bit of a pain. I would love to go back to the previous version if possible, at least it worked, come on sonos get it sorted.
The new app is terrible and very frustrating to use! As a previous Beta tester, I can’t believe this new app was beta tested because there are so many things not working as well as the previous version. Specifically, loading the app is taking up to 15 seconds to come to life; the speaker group does not default to the previously selection and the volume changes with too much latency with the delay irritating. I would love for someone to point out what I am doing wrong or for the app to be fixed ASAP!
So I'm fed up with hardware being forcibly outdated and then an app released which removes functionality and is basically pushing UAT to us consumers. SO... what is the alternative to Sonos? There must be a better platform who respect their customers!!!???
Why are you not giving customers the opportunity to go back to the previous app version ?stating that it with take months to sort out the vast amount of kinks is just a huge disservice to your users. There are so many things that my system is unable to do. Half off the network. Can't add voice support. Alarms.. the list goes on.
What were you thinking, this new app is NOT ready for prime time! No playlists, no alarms, cannot delete music services, my favorites are all missing. Individual volume of rooms that are grouped can only be done in the groupe list!?!. These are issues on both Android and iOS. All you have done is pissed off your customers and created a ton of headaches for your support team as well as your dealers! For anyone who hasn't upgraded yet, DONT! The old version is far better. Once they FINISH the app it should finally be the “better experience” they promised, but right now it's minimally functional at best!
How could Sonos have released such a disgracefully flawed update? Or is this an undiagnosed case of corporate suicide?
I've had a Sonos system in my house for 10 years and there are lots of reasons why I will continue with it. But the Sonos app sucks and has always sucked for the past 10 years. Why is it so bad? Why won't anyone fix it?
Someone forgot to add the alarm function to the new Sonos App.. Bring it back.
I am aghast that the new Sonos App does not feature an alarm. The work around is to set the alarm using a laptop or computer. It is totally impractical in bed at night to set it up that way. I like waking up to music from my Sonos App, and I am going to miss it. I thought an upgrade was meant to be an improvement, but I wouldn’t have upgraded if I had known how bad it was going to be. I suggest you facilitate going back to previous App.
I’ve been using the latest update today, and I have to say it’s working the best I’ve yet experienced. They’ve actually got it working all quite well!!
I just had to highlight this seemingly bizarre and absurd response from the (equally bizarre and absurd) AMA.An app is never finished? This app seemed like it was never started properly. The way this is described, it sounds like the design team was slaving away for years on the new app and decided to just ship it. Yet when using the app (especially the iPad version), it feels like the design team only spent a few months on it at most. You need to stop spouting stuff like this to try to justify the intentional release of an incomplete product that you were fully aware had numerous issues but you decided to ship anyways.Just admit you messed up pushing the release and apologize. Be human about it. That’s the first and most important thing you can do for customers, so that you can start this relationship over…because for some people it is over.PS. You also might want to put one of your Community Managers (ie Keith) in charge of speaking to your customers in a human voice for you because you
The desktop app not being able to rename devices or pair to them is just silly in 2024. Could we get the same admin and setup features on the desktop app as the mobile app? At least if the computer is on WiFi then it should be able to function the same as the app this feel archaic currently.
I recall when Sonos 2 was introduced older products would be functional only under Sonos 1 and that Sonos 1 would not have updates.I have been using the two without a problem, is the update of Sonos app only for Sonos 2?Will the new Sonos update operate the functionality of both Sonos 1 and Sonos 2?Thanks in advanceTony McMillen
Moderator Note - Translation by Google:New sonos app🙄☹️ once again the developers have struck, change for the sake of change and user comfort takes second place and it is impossible to return to the old application. Does anyone have the link to the ask me anything session today at 11am PT?
Arc and TV remote sync went bad. Lost volume control and could no longer mute. So I Factory reset the Ark but the Ark failed to register with my account. I tried several times with no success. I then noticed that my SonosID was not visible within the app so assumed the Ark didn’t know where to register. I logged out of the app and back in again and then tried the whole process of registering all over, this time it worked with no issues.
I upgraded Sonos and it is not working it says it cannot access the music on my computer which I could access prior to this update. (I am on an Apple iMac)1. I was on hold for over 1h and 15 minutes before I got to speak to someone. 2. After spending more than another 30 minutes on the phone, the support person told me I needed to make sure my iMac was using SMBv2 or v3. That will fix the problem.3. I am now on the phone with Apple and they tell me there should be no problem that Apple Software is compatible with those versions based on the OS version I am running. They are continuing to help, but it seems like this is a Sonos problem.4. Apple support tried to help but said this is not a Mac or OS issue it is a Sonos issue5. I do not want to waste another 2 hours wasting my time, so please tell me how to resolve the issue.
Since Sonos 16.1, I no longer have access to my own music base on a Mac Mini running under El Capitan.
