One thing you can say about the new app debacle is that there has probably never been such passionate and intense engagement by the use community.

When you buy in expensive hardware that is controlled by software you are putting a huge amount of trust into that company to continue updating the app, not change priorities or remove features, and even continuing to exist.
Sonos have totally broken that trust. Who knows they could turn the app into a subscription or a crypto mining spamware and we’re all forced to use it now.
The CEO knows this too.

I am now looking to move from Sonos over 5k worth of hardware that I can't use. It's beyond a joke with Sonos not owning their mistake, I have now asked about my consumer rights due to being sold a product due to adverts in bad faith

You're kind of right, I never expected to create a profile here, didn't plan to rate the app on the store.

I have just expected to be a happy customer.

Man, was I wrong.

There has - about 4 years ago, when Sonos decided to threaten all their existing users with a “if you don’t replace all your hardware units with new ones, we may send out updates that will make them useless” - that caused a very heated debate.
