So I'm fed up with hardware being forcibly outdated and then an app released which removes functionality and is basically pushing UAT to us consumers. 

SO... what is the alternative to Sonos? There must be a better platform who respect their customers!!!???

I’m thinking of going bluesound - I have one of their players already. The app is good and the operating system is used by 3rd parties. It also plays high-res content.

currently have 10 Sonos speakers dotted around the house, so it will take sometime to transition.


I am a Sonos system owner since 2012. I am so disappointed and totally frustrated with the last App changes that they forced onto my telephone without so much as a notification (5-10-2024). DO THESE PEOPLE AT SONOS UNDERSTAND THEY DO NOT OWN MY TELEPHONE OR THE SONOS SPEAKERS SYSTEM I PAID FOR? THEY DO NOT OWN THIS EQUIPMENT, I PURCHASED IT FROM THEM. HANDS OFF!!!

Of course they changed my app on Friday evening when I cannot contact customer service to find out what happened to the “Line In” functionality on the new app. It is not there! So I can play no C.D.’s , no turntable, no internet streaming radio and when I go to their “Content Services” I get a message:  “401 Unauthorized” , so no Spotify!  What the Hell??? There was no warning, there are no instructions, no help, the app has no color (B&W), I have zero idea what has happened with this.  

Here’s my idea. I have a very good friend that is an attorney with the largest, national, class action lawsuit firm in the country. I will begin work Monday (Bro Bono) on a national class action lawsuit against Sonos for violations of the U.S. Consumer protection act. Maybe we can pull together 15 to 20,000 of us in the lawsuit and teach Sonos they have a responsibility to the consumer of their products. At the very least it will cost them major future sales and business, just as the country enters a major economic downturn and nobody needs their products. What you’ll see is a bunch of Santa Barbara, spoiled, narcissistic brats(I know them well, I lived there for 30 years) crying about losing their jobs just like the idiots that lost their do nothing jobs at Twitter when Musk took over. It can’t happen soon enough. These Sonos people are A-Holes of the first order and care ZERO about the customer that funds them everyday!

 


I’ve learned the past few days that Sonos hates their customers.
