So long SONOS! After years of being an overzealous supporter of SONOS and suggesting to friends, making excuses to my family, spending hours weekly on “some new issue” and still purchasing over 40 SONOS products for multiple locations... I just can’t do it anymore. Selling my units to some other poor fools who are excited by the prospect of wireless sound. It’s amazing about 20% of the time. Then another update comes... I can’t do this anymore.
I'm not sure how many customers you have so this may not be feasible, but would you consider offering one share of Sonos stock to existing Sonos customers?
I have a playbar, sub and 2 x play 1 speakers which is great for tv, streaming and cd’s. I have a separate analogue system for vinyl but would like to play it through my Sonos system. I have been given all sorts of advice on how to do it but it all conflicts, the end reult is I have bought a Connect on the advice that I can pay my vinyl on existing Kenwood turntable through existing Kenwood KA-3020SE amp and connecting the tape out to the Connect. This doesn’t work as it seems to me like the tape out isn’t amplified. My questions are :- in simple terms please! How do I play my analogue turntable through my Sonos sound system? Do I need to buy a pre-amp? Am I wasting my time with the Connect? Given that it’s possible, what connects to what and do I have to hard wire connect an output from the Connect to my Sonos speakers or will it connect wirelessly? No jargon please guys I’m not a young guy and I’ve only just moved on from a wind up gramophone :):):)
Is the new? I like! https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/accessories/apparel Only thing I'd say is... more options, more colors. I think "Listen Better" will be added to my Christmas list. Maybe a hat.
Hi everyone, im pretty new in this community here. Been reading and eyeing on new updates always and often wish there are newer ones. I’ve been a sonos lover since 2016 yet unfortunate enough to afford any of them. Been saving up my penny as much as I could to purchase one of them. Initially, my favourite is always the PLAY 5 (Gen 2) as I just want them in my bedroom and some nice stereo surround. Im no audiophile or whatsoever but i do enjoy good music and watching movie. So, basically Im based in Melbourne and been to few general stores like jbhifi and myer to test out how these bad boy sounds. Unfortunately my surroundings are always too noisy and distracted therefore I cant really determine how good the PLAY 5 would be. I was comparing it to the BOSE soundtouch 30 to be honest as most my mates do own BOSE and make me to get them instead of SONOS. Alrighty, here we go. So, one fine day i decided to search up for some personal stockist that sells SONOS, BOSE, B&O and etc. I fi
New to Sonos but understand that playing music off my iPhone 6S is a problem with my Sonos home entertainment system installed in our new house. Music stops and jumps to another song or stops all together. A real pain in the butt. Streaming Sirius, Pandora, Amazon...not an issue. I’ve read similar posts from a month ago. Any updates on this topic?
Am I the only one getting fed up with the Sonos policy of forcing updates whoever they feel like it. I am an intermittent user and have a couple of old iPads that I use as controllers. Now it appears that I Can't use them until their software is updated. All I want is a basic and stable system that operates when and as I need it. Unless I want all the extra features I don't see why I should have to waste so much of my time Grrrrr!
In my Media Room, I just swapped out my Connect:Amp for an Amp. The most disappointing thing on both setups is that when configured as part of a surround system, the sub output is disabled. While I'm generally ok with this for the TV setup....When listening to music in "Full" mode - why disable the sub output? This is more of a problem for me, since my Media room configuration started with just a Connect:Amp driving speakers + a sub. Now I've added a Beam...Which has effective rendering my sub useless if I want to use the original speakers as surrounds (which was my intent). The work-around for this is to constantly remove the surround setup when listening to music which is a horrible solution.
When the hell is sonos going to deliver on promises to work with google
For those who can’t quite seem to grasp why Sonos can’t support older versions of iOS. Apple’s policies dictate. Sonos must play by Apple’s rules. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2018/02/apple-dictates-that-all-new-apps-must-fully-support-the-iphone-x-screen/
I cannot connect my SONOS to my NAS where all my music library is siting. I have tried many options: "Manage Music Library" - > "Music Library Setup" -> "Add new Share" -> Enter static IP address, or enter \\myNASname\music, or enter "Music", or many other options. Nothing works. I have also downgraded security to SMB1. I am using Windows 10, and am trying to connect Sonos from my iPhone. The NAS is a DS218+. As far as I can tell, the whole music library is shared. I'm a bit at a loss, any help most welcome.
Hi Everyone! I have SUB configured with two PLAY:1's in a stereo pair and was wondering what everyones favourite songs are that you think really brings out the best of SUB and the wonderful stereo imaging that the PLAY:1's provide! I'd be keen to hear any kind of music and really want to bring out the most of my system with a wide variety of tracks! Thanks in advanced!
hi this appeared on Facebook this morning ,what do you all reckon copys or don't exist https://www.sonosstores/////com
It's time to give the Connect a much deserved update. Hardware seriously outdated. I mean has it even been changed at all since 2005? Too big. Should be no bigger than a Chromecast. Too expensive. Should cost way less than a Play:1. Probably around €50. Digital/analog 3.5 output. USB powered. Exactly like a Chromecast Audio but for Sonos. Guys, it's almost 2019. This needs to happen.
I love listening to songs on crossfade, and every so often I'll find two songs that just line up/mix perfectly, have you guys discovered any with a pleasing/cool mix on crossfade?
Hello, I am tech challenged and I have 2 Sonos One speakers which I control with my phone and a tablet. Recently my phone broke and was replaced...I also changed wireless so have a new router and service. The problem is that I have lost all my playlists stored with my Sonos system and am unsure how to restore/find them. On my phone, I have a new Sonos App, and just set up my 2 Speakers by "factory resetting" them as instructed on a youtube video. They then were found and reattached as new speakers and are working again. Are the playlists stored IN the speakers? If so, have I lost them forever by resetting? I assumed that my tablet, which has not changed, was storing the playlists but find that it needed to search and find my "New"system and shows no playlists as well...:( My playlists were sourced primarily from my Amazon Prime Music account, but no personal stored music files. If lost, how can i prevent losing all these hours of creating playlists I have set up in the future?
2018 is starting to wrap up and we’re curious — what’s been your favorite sound experience on, with, around Sonos this year? Was it a movie? A podcast? An album? Who was with you? How did it make you feel? We want details! Share your tales here!
Hello everyone, I found this site through instagram with Sonos products at very low prices: [removed] Would you confirm it is a fake? Thank you
How many Sonos users out there have a music library that is greater than 65,000 tracks?
Hi, I have a faulty speaker which Sonos are replacing. They have provided me with a DHL RMA Label to return the defective unit to them but no instructions as to where i need to take it to get the return processed. The carrier is DHL. Can anyone advise what I need to do??
Was in BB the other day, checked the Bozo display. Noticed it had been completely updated, yet again. After three... three!!! generations of their miserable Soundtouch multi room system, they’re finally throwing in the towel. It must have been a very expensive mistake. The death is confirmed over on their forum. https://community.bose.com/t5/SoundTouch-Speakers/Deezer-HIF-on-Bose-amp-Bose-is-stopping-soundtouch/m-p/151902#M69961 😃
Stupidly I decided to get rid of the annoying update icon in the Sonos app. The result is a broken home theatre setup. After spending a whole day of reading support and trying every possible scenario to get my setup working again the only noise coming from my sonos is silence. Does sonos do buy backs? I would like to add my frustrations with the other community members here. Sonos have broken my trust after singing nothing but praise about the simplicity of the setup and quality. 31 October 2018 is my deadline for a software update, after that I am going to rubbish sonos in every shape and from known to the internet world.
Picked up a Homepod over the weekend. No comparison to my Sono's system...in fact it has made me fall in love with my Sonos all over again. Whoever said that the Homepod is a Play5 killer is on crack 🙂
Just got a beam and want to pair it or bond it. Can’t seem to find how to do so Any help would be appreciated
I don't see these unpaid forum stalwarts anymore and I miss their posts. In my early days here, and even later, I learnt a lot from their posts on various issues related to both Sonos and home audio in general. Users and posters of today don't know what they are missing obviously; suffice it to say that they are missing a lot. In places like these, people move on and one loses track of them; wherever they are, here's hoping they are well and thriving in their present pursuits.
