Have a chat with other Sonos owners. What's going on in the world of music and technology? What's playing?

Hi, I stopped using Sonos players some time ago and I do not intend to participate in this forum any longer. How to remove my account from your servers? I can’t find the option. Maybe I’m not looking in the right place. Thanks
Has anyone taken a Sonos from the US to Japan? Does a US model work in Japan?
I'm having trouble connecting to Virgin Radio UK through Tune-in. I live in France. Does anybody know if this is possible? I can connect to just about every other radio station in the UK just not Virgin!
The Sonos Community does not remember my username and password for very long. When I go to access it the next day I am signed out and have to login again. I wish that it would remember my credentials (despite me checking Remember Me). Is this an issue for anyone else? I experience it on Safari (Apple iOS 12.1) on both iPhone and iPad and also on the latest version of Google Chrome on macOS Mojave.
Can others recommend any of a list of their favorite reggae internet radio stations? Ideally, I was looking for ones that play more of the old school artists like: Yellowman, Steel Pulse, Eek a Mouse, Burning Spear, King Tubby, Third World, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Mikey Dread, Sugar Minor, Culture,Israel Vibration; Gregory Issacs , Black Uhuru, etc. However, any feedback or recommendation would be welcome. Thanks for sharing.
I bought a Beam a few weeks back to go with my new OLED and thought it wasn't quite punchy enough so I added the Sonos Sub to the mix and Trueplayed it yesterday. The result is excellent and am extremely happy with the products. I now get the product and what it is and isn't and why it's configured the way it is. The system is deceptively loud when cranked a bit and does exactly what it's supposed to do perfectly. Streaming music is a new concept to me .... im an old guy🆒 .... but now have my pc library linked to Sonos and about 20 tunein stations Fav. Wife is getting in on the act and setting up her stuff as well and i've been ripping my CD collection so we can turf our stereo and go 100% Sonos. Have over 200 vinyl albums we havn't played in 12 years and might use em as wallpaper actually. I can see a few Sonos Ones in our future and will recommend them to anyone. Thanks Sonos
Ya never know. It would suck big time, though. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/apple-buyout-targets-could-netflix-141628746.html
Me: "I already have the Connect:Amp. I don't really need to upgrade." Also me: "Something new from Sonos? TAKE MY MONEY." ----- In all seriousness: If you have the coin to upgrade and plan on sticking with Sonos long term, I can recommend getting the newer AMP. My B&W CCM382 ceiling speakers never lived up to their potential with the older Connect:Amp. They sounded OK but unremarkable. Powered by the new AMP, they carry so much more punch to them. There's a richness that was simply was lacking in the previous setup. Pluses: modern design, expansion capabilities (up to 4 speakers instead of 2) Here's what I should have known but didn't: swapping out amp devices means reconnecting all the speakers and services that were tied to the old amp. That took longer than swapping out the hardware. If you have neither and you're deciding between Connect:Amp or Amp, spent the extra $100. All day long.
Before the community existed in this form, Sonos had a website where feature requests had a separate status, and could be voted for. Some features introduced back then were based on popular demand. Now, requests are scattered across the community and receive the same (non-)reply every time. I think it would be good to have a separate place on these boards for feature requests, just like the "Ask a question" board. Adding a "me too" button or using the original "like" button, votes could be cast for a feature request. It wouldn't necessarily change Sonos' policy on giving information on the status of development - the previous version of this system even had a "under consideration" and "rejected" status tag - but it would at least give some visibility to highly requested features.
Soundbar connection problems
I travel quite a bit, one thing I miss or wish I had when in the hotel is a good sound system to pay my music\podcasts. I think the better hotels would be open to a complete system. How I see that working •Registering with the hotel wifi using your room number. Marriott, Hilton and most others use this method to prevent people leaching free wifi. •Sonos would need to develop a new enterprise back end that would acknowledge that registration\checkout and know which speakers are in what room. The tie into the registration would also allow you to know which user devices are in what room. •Adding a function to the app would grant access only to those devices that in a room. •Device security is always a concern. So Provisions to cable secure the speakers. •Upon check out the registration of the device would be wiped.
My bass was a bit too deep for how late at night it was and the song I was listening to, and I wanted to just go quick change the volume on my bass in that room. I was told it'd been a while since I'd logged in and that I needed to log in again before I could go into settings. What user-friendly advantage does requiring me to log in before I can go and change local settings like volume do for me? I bought Sonos because I was very excited about having wireless sound throughout the house years ago. I've since been told that I not only need an account ( I don't remember when I registered for one, but I did ) and then that I need to log into that account again, randomly, to change some settings like bass volume in a room? Why? This is not user friendly. I didn't want an account in the first place, I don't know what sort of information, telemetry or otherwise, you want from me. I never have any intention of buying any Alexa-integrated products from you; and, I'm really not a fan of be
How do you Symfonisk? https://www.engadget.com/amp/2019/01/18/ikea-sonos-smart-speakers-release-date/
I'm looking at the possibility of setting up a Sonos surround system upstairs and downstairs as well as Play:5's for music in different areas of the house. This is a lot of money. My concern these days with technology is that it seems to have a shelf life of max 5 years and then it is considered throw away. You used to be able to buy a expensive set of speakers that would keep their quality sound for 20 years. To prove this, all you have to do is go to any high end stereo store that sells old high end systems. Amazing sound! I'm in the financial industry and I've learned over the years that even the good companies don't always last. Their products though should still be usable. What I would like to know, if Sonos, for whatever reason, goes bankrupt. What is the implication for my system? I know that there would no longer be any updates for the software, but would the system still function as it did at the moment that Sonos no longer existed? I tried searching this on the
was reading about your new IPO and in the article it said you would no longer be supporting some of your older speakers in the near future, what speakers do they anticipate no longer supporting?
Wow. May have to stock up while they’re still available for $15. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2019/01/google-kills-the-chromecast-audio/
Before buying my Play 5 I was in conversation with a representative from 'Sonos Chat' One of my questions was "If I find one cheaper will you price match"? Categorically Yes was typed by the representative. Amazon are selling UK plugged Play5 for £449.00 Recently another representative from Sonos chat said they DO NOT price match and whoever said that should not have said it! I'm already over it but just wanted to post in case some of you think ....... Cheers
Currently the Sonos can be integrated with Alexa. There are plans for including Google Home an I even seen plans for integration with Siri. Are there any plans to integrate with Mycroft (https://mycroft.ai/) as well? I would be greatly interested in this integration as my recorded data will not be stored on a server and it is not used/sold for marketing purposes. In addition their new speaker with a display would be a great addition to the Sonos line as well. Anyone who would support these features here on the community? Kind regards, Frank
I am trying to set up new speakers at my second home using the same app I use for my main home. Can someone provide me with assistance? I am teying to connect a beam and two 2 play 1. I want to use it as a center and two fronts. When i turn on my app, it recognizes the wifi at my second home. I tried to add these speakers to this by clicking on more options. On there, it gives me an option to add another sonos system. After clicking here, it gives me an option to sign in or create an account. I chose to sign in and followed the prompts. When it comes to the part where I need to push the button on the back, this initially flashes red or orange then eventually solid red or orange. Not sure what to do from here. Thank you.
Love the Sonos gear and ease of use. It just works, and that's all anyone could ask for - almost. :-D Here is a feature request - I'm asking for Google Home and Sonos be integrated to work together. I'll not be using Alexa, so that won't help. Google tech covers much ground and is quite a bit ahead of Amazon - IMHO.
I have just spent close to £1000 on Sonos kit after reading that the set was a 'breeze'! I cannot add my itunes library despite trying for the last 4 hours - time i will never get back. I have checked all the firewall advice, rebooted all devices and router. Turned off devices close to router. I need this resolved or the system is useless and it looks like it is not just me who is affected - the speakers will be going back. Diagnostic response number is 1167535472.
Can I connect my beam to a Samsung sub.
It would be good to have a few home security features in the Sonos Android remote app. If we receive an alert from our home security system. It would be great to be able to: A) speak into our phone and pur voice to be heard through our Sonos speakers. 😎 play an alarm & C) play music at maximum volume Would this be possible please? What do others think?
I want to set up my Sonos network. My router is in a different room will not have music, does a Boost do what the Bridge use too?
