Hi Sonos designers, I would like to request the function to be able to play the sonos stream from my pc through my bluetooth or even wired headphones. We are in an office, and although the music choice is great and sonos platform works a treat, the general background noise of the office means I end up regularly swapping back to the spotify app/you tube through my headphones. Any ideas? Many Thanks
Selected a playlist from Apple music for an alarm music on my brand new Sonos One. Unfortunately it is impossible to snooze the alarm music when selecting "snooze" from the menu activated by 3D touch on the notification on the lock screen or after unlocking the screen. Instead I get a bizarre notification "No alarm playing." The only way to stop the music is by unlocking the phone and pausing the music, which defeats the convenience of snoozing the alarm. Any workaround or is this a defective feature?
Volume across different songs varies way too much
I’ve just bought the Sonos One. How do I get Alexa to play my playlists from Apple Music? I can physically select music to play off Apple Music but when asking Alexa she won’t play, something about Amazon Music is mentioned
Feature request: it would be great if we could create a list of songs that could not be played on the Sonos. We use Sonos in our office and some songs get overplayed. Ideally, this list would prevent a song being played through any connected service if requested, and it would skip these songs if they were on a playlist.
I’ve had Sonos installed on my Macbook for several years without problems such as this. However, having had a clean install of Mac-OS Catalina and reinstalled the Sonos app, I cannot gain access to my music library. A flag tells me that access is denied. I’ve searched everywhere for a solution but without success. Any help would be appreciated. Here are the Sonos details:Associated ZP: 192.168.1.42---------------------------------Play:3: KitchenSerial Number: 00-0E-58-FC-2A-6C:EVersion: 10.5 (build 53270100)Hardware Version: 1.8.1.2-2Series ID: A100IP Address: 192.168.1.42WM: 1OTP:---------------------------------Sub: Living RoomSerial Number: 00-0E-58-99-DA-3E:BVersion: 10.5 (build 53270100)Hardware Version: 1.8.2.4-2Series ID: A100IP Address: 192.168.1.132WM: 1OTP:
The only reason I purchased Sonos was for the compatibility with my iPhone. The sales person pointed out Sonos vs other available systems and demonstrated how easy Sonos paired with my iPhone. No streaming apps or other options necessary. So I went full in. My house is totally Sonos linked to my music library and playlists on my iPhone. And now Sonos has killed the only reason it was purchased. I understand technology upgrades, as Sonos seems to force weekly, but now my entire purchase is useless. I'm not on a streaming service, (extra cost) and I don't use a PC for iTunes. Bottom line, I spent a lot of money on Sonos vs Bose, and Sonos abandoned their advertised product. Looking forward to the class action. I'll be first in line!
I can't turn the mic on on a pair of Play One (Gen 2) speakers. The mic light is not on and no amount of poking, swiping or stroking of the mic logo will get it to turn on. My system has 2 other sets of paired Sonos One (Gen1) units hooked up to it through a Boost plus a Beam paired with two Play 1's. There's a pair of Play-5's on the system too and I'm wondering if there's a conflict??? All the other units fitted with mics work with Alexa ok, just this latest set doesn't. I've removed the speakers from the system and started over again with connecting them (several times in fact), with no joy. In all other respects the speakers work fine regardless of whether I use the Sonos app or the Alexa app. This pair just won't respond to voice commands.
A trenchant critique from someone who always comes across as resolutely supportive of the science. http://archimago.blogspot.com/2019/09/musings-democritization-doublethink-mqa.html (The older related threads here, with subscribers who might be interested, are either locked or hornets' nests that I'd rather not poke.)
The company plans to release the new Echo by next year, according to people familiar with the product. Prototypes of the cylindrical speaker are wider than the current Echo to squeeze in additional components including at least four tweeters, said the people, who requested anonymity to discuss an internal matter. https://www.bloomberg.com/amp/news/articles/2019-07-12/amazon-plans-high-end-echo-ramps-up-work-on-alexa-home-robot
my Stitcher app logo appears as Napster and when I click it all the settings have disappeared. Have I been hacked?
I have been having two issues with Tidal - one of which I believe I have fixed which is Within the Sonos app when accessing my Tidal Music Library nothing would come up yet when searching I could search Tidal, Today I have got my music library from Tidal now playing within Sonos. This is what I did.. In the Sonos app go to Settings - in Music Services section tap on Tidal - then Reauthorize Account. That seems to have solved Sonos accessing my Music Library of Tidal including Playlists, which I saw someone had others working but Playlists stopped working). Still having an issue casting from Tidal to a Sonos speaker but now at least I can play my music from Tidal to my Sonos speakers. 👍😁
So I have had my sonos for over a year. I am using a play 5 gen 1 that has a stereo patch cable connecting it to the tv. I am an employee with a home integration company so it’s no where near my first time using this product. About 2 weeks ago I noticed that only the HBO GO apps sound quality has changed drastically since the last time I had used it. It used to be pretty clear, crackle and pop here or there but nothing crazy. All of the sudden it is muffled and I can hardly hear the words being spoken, I’ve tried adjusting the EQ, even going though my tv speakers on my Sony it doesn’t sound quite right. So I’m sure it’s something with the way HBO go formats it’s audio. I’ve eliminated the possibility that it’s an issue with my fire stick, I see there seem to be other issues with hbo go as well thought the forum. I’m just wondering if anyone has ran into this issue before, All I know is winter is coming and I hope to be able to hear it properly!
Interesting tease here: https://www.engadget.com/2019/08/08/sonos-fall-event-IFA-2019/ Seems odd that no FCC popups have occurred yet, but I'm not one to be looking for those kinds of things, I count on others in our community for that 🙂
I've seen a lot of web articles from the normal tech sites talking annot Sonos Event that should have happened today. Everyone thought Sonos would be announcing new speakers during this 2 day even but I haven't heard or seen anything at all.
I have bought all your products. The only thing I really listen to is my Itunes and you "Edited Clowns" Edited that up. I have 50 gig of Itunes that used to work but now does not. I really only listen to the Sonos thru the house when I rarely get an opportunity to have sex with my wife and yes you always Edited that up too; With the updates and other Edited. I think your product was great initially, what are the fascist millennial's running this company now. It does not work more than it works and I have no itunes now period. Sonos holds a two day press briefing in New York and not a snippet of news about the event anywhere. Anybody have any intel on the event?
This will be interesting, especially after Denon. Sonos invented wireless multi room audio, and owns all the patents. Hard to imagine they won’t win this one, too. https://www.cepro.com/article/sonos_sues_lenbrook_for_bluesound_bluos_alleged_patent_infringement
A few months ago I lost the ability to control my Sonos system with my iPhone 4s because the software updates were no longer supporting the 4s. What a waste of equipment...! That phone became totally redundant and now sits in a draw doing nothing... Customer services were useless with their hollow apologies I looked to sell all my Sonos equipment - 2 x Zonebridge 100’s, 3 x Zoneplayer ZP90’s and 4 x Zoneplayer S5’s. I used to use the Sonos CR 200 but that was crap and after five replacements under warranty I gave it up as a total waste of money, hence using the 4s. I tried to sell all my Sonos kit and find something else that wouldn't be hindered with this update/redundancy but that wasn't easy. In the end I purchased another iPhone - the 6s, to control my Sonos... But now - another problem... the 'On This Phone' feature is being removed!!! So now, my few-months-old iPhone 6s will be useless for playing my music!!! I am retired, living in Thailand. I cannot afford to upgrade to Airp
Hi. I purchased (5) Play:1, (1) Play:3, and (1) Boost about 2 years ago and have been using them around my house ever since. All of the speakers still work perfectly and sound really great. But I just learned that the ability to play the songs that I own on my iPhone and iPodTouch on Sonos will no longer be available shortly. The only way I can continue to use these products in this way is to purchase a new device for example the Sonos One. I have spent roughly $1550.00 on Sonos products and the functionality that I bought these products for is simply going to be removed because your company will not continue to support it. So what will the Sonos app be used for? Streaming radio? I have no interest in listening to the radio. I purchased your products to listen to the music I want to listen to. I listen to thousands of songs I have purchased over the years in multiple playlists. I will not purchase a new Sonos product at this point to continue to get part of the functionality that I cur
Hello, I cannot make the Beam work with my telly; it's got the optical Audio output (no ARCH) so I used provided HDMI-to-optical adapter. The beam recognizes it during the setup, but again, no sound. I saw suggestions to unplug other HDMI cables from the telly, but this is how the signal comes to it - through a single HDMI from a receiver, so how can I test the speaker if no signal is provided to the telly and, consequently to the Beam? I used a different (working) HDMI cable with the provided adapter, no luck. I then hooked the Beam to the PlayStation 3 optical audio -- no sound from there either. Is the adapter faulty or shoulod I send the Beam back for a replacement? Also, the Beam works great streaming Spotify from my phone. Thank you
Why is sonos getting rid of direct play direct from my iPhone. This is madness, wouldn’t bought sonos if I New this was going to happen. Good luck sonos guess you be getting some rubbish reviews if you go ahead with this change
Has anyone been to the new web site? Terrible. Hard to navigate, hard to search, less information than before. It Really has no purpose, it is a terrible upgrade. I have 12+ products, they are great, but this is an abomination, please fix it. There is no technical information, only product placement and sales, does not help anyone. Sorry, not liking the new site at all, a major step backward, and room for competition to get a step up as potential buyers will go somewhere else, i would.
Hi all, Up until HomePod appeared I had multiple sonos players in my home for years. From connects to play 5s and play 1s. When HomePod came out I got one and sold all my sonos stuff. Despite this I was never really happy with the HomePod sound. (It replaced a play 5 2nd gen) I thought a software update might help and eventually it did, with Apple altering the original sound signature. But this didn’t end the list of things I didn’t like. For starters this “place HomePod anywhere and it will sound great” is rubbish! Despite adjusting to its location, it’s still highly temperamental in its placement. The sound curve changes dramatically based on where it’s placed. The last straw was last week I bought a third one to stereo pair with the one in the lounge room. It didn’t work correctly. Even after the room correction stuff the right speaker was clearly louder than the left but the left had a higher overall bass response. Nothing I did fixes it. Even reversing the physical positi
So if this is going away and I have the Amp how am I supposed to play my music on the Amp without subscribing to a music service without a home computer? Seems ridiculous
