I have severe high frequency vocal sibilance distortion. Had it bad with both Arc and Beam. Lowering treble to minimum or TruePlay doesn't help much. The problem is my auditory perception. Someone advised to place a bath towel over Beam. I thought it was a joke. It's no joke. The thick fabric absorbs much HF energy while the midrange mostly passes through. Works better than any treble adjustment for me. So now I want to implement this on Arc. Since it is so wide I would like to target the center tweeter and tape a piece of fabric. Does anyone know the exact tweeter location in the center? Right the middle where it says Sonos or slightly to the left? Slightly right? Can't make it out exactly from thishttps://media.wired.com/photos/5ed7f8f4181421e8a6345331/master/w_2400,h_1800,c_limit/Gear-Sonos-Arc---Exploded-View.jpg I would appreciate only concrete helpful replies. Hi,I can see that there is a new upgrade programme for the Sonos Play 1’s, Play 5’s and Connect AMP etc… Can I choose to use the discount on any products within the Sonos store? How does this work?EG: Can I use my Play 3 upgrade to get 30% discount on a Play 5 for example?I can’t really see this explained in the small print…Thanks!
I want to opt out of the new S2 download. The instruction screen says to click learn more and then click continue using S1. When i click learn more their is no option called S1. Any suggestions
I want to order a new gen2 Play 5 on the upgrade program but it is over the VAT threshold value. The check out screen does not show the VAT content so am I likely to get charged an additional 20% by HMRC or does SONOS reduce the invoice price by the 20%?
I’ve just moved and have a Beam and 2 SLs Ones as surrounds.I’ve run Trueplay but just wanted to check does it automatically work out which SL One is left and which is right? I couldn’t remember which one was which in the original setup and now I’m over thinking when I’m watching content whether they are left/right correctly. Thanks
Hi everyone. I'm using the Sonos app on Android. I simply want my morning alarm to play radio everywhere in my flat. But the group's aren't appearing when I go to set the alarm. I check 'include grouped rooms' but they don't appear. If I go out and come back in, it is unchecked. If I go to groups, the group's I've created aren't in there, but they are if I am playing music?I have a Move (based in one room), a One SL in one room; and a Beam and 2 X One SLs grouped as 'Lounge' for my TV in the living room. So that comes up fine but is more a group for surround sound rather than a bunch of speakers IYKWIM.I have a group called 'Everywhere' but it isn't showing even when grouped rooms' is ticked, and I just want it to play everywhere when I wake up. Not the end of the world but annoying daily...
This has been asked before, but the answers haven’t addressed the confusion - so here goes:In the app, click My Sonos->Edit. The message on screen says “Long press to rearrange content.”Bearing in mind that long-pressing does *not* allow me to rearrange content, what exactly does that message mean?Supplementary question: By default, stations in My Sonos are listed alphabetically. This does not correspond with how people normally select stations. The names of my favourite stations do not start with “A”. Yes, could rename them but that is a pretty inelegant solution. How about a new feature … perhaps something like “long-press to rearrange content”? Crazy idea?
Once upon a time, I owned a PS3 and a Sonos Playbar. I seem to remember that I was able to force the PS3 to transcode DTS to Dolby Digital and I would then bypass my tv to get that to the Playbar (as the TV would convert anything from HDMI to PCM). That PS3, TV and Playbar is now long gone and instead I have an LG GX and two Sonos AMPs. I now again need a Blu-ray player to play my old collection of movies but it needs to have HDMI-CEC and preferably also some app-control. Do I remember correctly that the PS3 would transcode on the fly and is that still the case? I can pick up used ones for pennies so it would be an easy solution.
Up dated to IOS14 yesterday, SI app refused to work. After an hour of doing the turn it on and off again dance, with no joy… in installed the app and reinstalled it.The app then asked permission to connect to Wif and Bluetooth- system is now up and running.
Beam and surrounds (play 1s) go into mute mode when I turn tv off (solid green light). Have to manually hit volume button now to play music. Never used to happen. Started this week after Sony update and move to S2. TV Sony xbr55x850D. Hookup thru arc. Diagnostic number:302588424
Hi, I tried to add a new Sonos One SL to my system last night using my Sonos S1 app, but it stalled. I eventually deleted that speaker, realising it must have shipped with the S2 operating system unlike my previous One SL.However, the Sonos S1 apps I have running everywhere now refuse to start up. As soon as they start, I get a message saying I need the S2 app. There is no other option to ignore this.I only have S1 devices on my system. I have 2 Sonos Connects & 1 Sonos One SL - all on S1. (My new One SL on S2 is not connected yet.) I can’t update these to S2 because the fixed in-wall Crestron screen won’t run the S2 controller. Apparently, the Crestron devices run an old Android system & Sonos has said they won’t make their S2 app work with these any longer. The Crestron can’t be updated from Crestron OS 2 because Crestron OS 3 doesn’t support the Philips Dynalite systems in the building. So, bottom line. I’m stuck with Sonos S1.So, how do I get my apps working again with my s
Hi everyone, sooo, I have the Sonos Playbar and 2 Play ones in my living room. I mainly use the system for listening to music and not actually to watch many movies (contrary to what I had planned years ago when I bought the playbar). Anyway, I am moving to a bigger apartment so I would like to add speaker(s) to my setup. What would you recommend I should add (all in the same room). Shall I go for one play 5 or another play 1 and the sub? I appreciate that it won’t improve my movie sound experience but that’s not what I am going for as I said earlier.thanks for your help !
Hi Sonos I’m new and love your products. I’ve just bought a beam and one and have now bought a move and 2 further ones as surrounds. The move seems like a great product. Expensive, but suits a number of my needs. My question: How long is Sonos committed to stocking replacement batteries for the Move for? Do you for instance still stock spares for some legacy products?. I don’t want to invest in the speaker now and then find out in 4 years when the battery permanently dies (which it will) that you no longer sell replacements. As a solution, I’d be tempted to buy an additional battery now but am not sure how best to manage this for its lifespan. Should I alternate the batteries e.g swap out each month or just put the 2nd one in in approx 4 years time when the first one dies? I see this is a question a lot of people have alluded to, but haven’t seen it answered as yet. Thanks a lot !
I've set my record player up to play through my Sonos with a Sonos Port, but it created a new room in the process. Is this normal? Or can I change it so I just have the record player set up within my only existing room. It works fine, just that I have two rooms now within my Sonos S2 app when I only have one!
If I play music through Spotify on my TV, it sounds amazing, the sound is balanced pretty well between each speaker and the sub sounds great. But if I pick up my phone and start playing the same songs through the Sonos app, the quality is absolute garbage, it sounds completely drowned out, not nearly as loud despite the volume being the same and the surrounds are horrible, basically just playing the song as if they were unpaired, completely ruining the soundstage if you’re not sitting in the very center of the room.
Good day, i have searched through the history and am still unclear of what my best option is. Apologies if I’ve missed it. Currently i have the Sonance MAG 6.1 set up for my back yard. This system has a sub and six landscape speakers running to a single Sonos amp. Sounds great. My patio has a TV that i would like to integrate and be able to both play the TV output just on my patio (separate from the landscape speakers), as well as with my landscape speaker or just through my landscape speakers. I have yet to purchase the audio (speakers/amp) for my TV patio, would in ceiling with a sperate Sonos amp or sound bar (beam/arc) enable the above desired end state? Would i need something different? Appreciate any intelligence you can provide. Thank you.
Amp audio for projector. Posting because of frustrating customer service call. To hook up you may use the rca in from the phone/computer/dvr to 3.5mm headphone jack and video hdmi to the projector. So 2 connections, one to headphone jack and other for video to projector. Alternate is use hdmi ARC to projector and if it has output, then go to rca in on the AMP. there, fixed until the software engineers ger their butts in gear and patch the wireless option in, why, because its a wireless system!
When my Play:1 switched to a loud, obnoxious song I wanted to skip, I was not able to do it because my iPad’s S1 app insisted I input my Sonos password to confirm I wanted to continue to use S1, else it would “upgrade” me to S2. I picked up my Android phone and got the same message. I climbed up on a chair to reach the play/pause button on my speaker, then relaxed enough to look up the Sonos password, which I had not used in many months, and was able to preserve my S1 system. I am very disappointed in the Sonos effort to blackmail users into switching to the inferior S2 software. Whenever I look up the S2 app on the Play or Apple stores, the first several pages of reviews are always the same - it does not work, the app constantly loses the speakers and the users have to spend time troubleshooting, with no useful help from Sonos, instead of listening to music. For those of us who are happy with our S1 systems, why can’t you just leave us alone and let us use the software we paid fo
I have a turntable plugged into my Sony stereo amplifier and I wish to plug this into my Sonos port, thus essentially using the amp as a pre amp. Will the RCA output on the back of the amp work for this? I assume I just run an RCA cable from the amp output to the port input and then this will stream to all my Sonos speakers? The Sony amp is the Sony STRDH190.CEK.
Before Rogan went to Spotify I could stream his podcast through Stitcher. Now, Stitcher doesn’t work at all and even though I can stream Rogan directly through Spotify, his podcast doesn’t show up when I search for it in Spotify on Sonos. Is it not licensed for Canada, for Sonos? Thx.
I got a gen 3 sub recently and have tried to keep it in pristine condition. All I've used on it is the Sonos cloth that comes with it to dust it off. I was shining my phones flashlight last time I cleaned it to make sure I had removed everything, when I noticed a hairline scratch that was about 5 inches long on the top of the sub. This scratch is really only visible when I shine a flashlight near it although I'm wondering if this is common and the finish scratches from just cleaning it with the supplied cloth.Has anyone tried to get rid of scratches like these on the sub with a polish, or should I just leave it as is?
What’s the chance sonos will build a larger subwoofer with deeper extension? I know I can get the Sonia amp and use my own sub but I am so impressed with Sonos fit and finish of current products. I would be willing to shell out good money for a larger sub.
Hello out there,I have an sonos beam with two play1 and sub for about a year now. I just noticed recently that system is not playing in dolby 5.1, but instead in pcm,/ surround. My tv is a vizio 652ui-b2 and my cable/satellite service is direct tv. I looked at my audio tv settings and it was set on PCM. So I switched it to bitstream. And my sonos beam started playing in dolby. So I thought I fixed the problem. But when I tried to use my remote the sound cut off. I then switched the tv back to PCM, and everything worked ok. But I'm not getting dolby sound from my sonos. This kind of defeats the purpose of having a sonos system. If anyone out there had this issue? let me know please thanks
Hi!I’m looking for advice on how to play CDs through my Sonos speakers without spending a fortune on a Sonos Port or Amp. I currently have a Sonos One Gen 2 and an IKEA Symfonisk, none of which have line-in. I’ve also ordered the Sonos Roam, which also doesn’t have line-in, but apparently has bluetooth. So, could I:Get a portable CD player with bluetooth and connect that to the Sonos Roam via bluetooth? Would that only play on the Roam then and not the whole system? If I get an Apple Optical Drive, could I then connect it to my Macbook and send it to the speakers via Airplay 2?Any other options?Grateful for any advice!
Hello!I am considering a Sonos One SL to replace my Hitachi W200. One thing I am confused about is, if i am playing music from Apple Music to the Sonos, will it only play the music and not other things on my phone? For example, I can play Spotify to the W200 and if I play a Youtube video, or a game that has sound, those other sounds do not play on the W200 (which is the way I want it). The Hitachi has great sound but will not work with Apple Music over WiFi, I would have to switch to BT which would play the sounds I do not want. Will the Sonos work like the W200 does in WiFi?
