I've just repurposed two Play:1 speakers to act as rear speakers in a surround sound TV setup. I have a Beam connected to my LG TV via HDMI ARC which seems to work fine, receiving Dolby Digital 5.1 from the TV.The first problem I faced was getting both Play:1 speakers connected. For a long time they refused to connect as surround speakers, with the setup routine failing with a non-descript error message ("failed to connect" or similar). After resetting both speakers to factory settings, they eventually connected and the app shows them as "Play:1 (Left)" and "Play:1 (Right)". So far so good!Unfortunately I'm still not getting full surround sound since the left speaker stays completely silent, whether watching TV or playing music from Spotify. It successfully controls TV audio (e.g. for volume adjustment) but it's not playing any sound. The Beam and the right speaker are both working fine.Suspecting a latency issue, I re-installed an old Sonos Bridge and restarted all my speakers t
I can’t possibly be the only Sonos user who wants to use their Sonos Ones for stereo versus surround sound am I? My beam is connected to my Google wifi and TV but my speakers are over wifi. We have vaulted ceilings and my Beam is about 10 feet away on the wall. It’s hard to make out words from a speaker so far away and I want to use my Ones as stereo but my only option is to “group them” which is a pain because we have to manually regroup them on our iPhones every single time we turn the TV back on. Don’t even get me started about adjusting the sound while you’re watching the TV. I have to find my phone, then log in with PIN or face, then open the app, then adjust the sound EVERY SINGLE TIME I WANT TO ADJUST THE SOUND. All because I want stereo instead of surround. We can literally fly a helicopter on Mars and Sonos can’t fix this?? Really?? Had I known this I never would have bought the Sonos “system” which isn’t really a system. It’s just a bunch of component pieces. The sound qualit
How does the Roam compare with the Tap?
My sonos five, unable to detect my 5Ghz Wifi. It only appear the 2.4Ghz Wifi. All my other device connected to my 5Ghz Wifi just fine.I try manually type the Wifi network but still unable to connect.
Can the roam charge wirelessly while laying horizontal?
I just bought an Arc and two Ones. I ran TruePlay and music is fantastic. TV dialog is hard to understand, I've tried several shows and movies. Can I adjust at all? The TV controlled don't allow for HDMI output. Thanks!
This new feature doesn't seem to work for me with any of my Play1. Works great with my playbar but nothing happens for the Play1 s.
Any idea when preordered white Roam will be available?
I needed to reset my Roam, but the controller is still showing the device as ‘offline’ despite it being removed from the system. Any thoughts? App all up to date.

When listening to tracks in Sonos (linked to Deezer) I have the option to Like (heart) or dislike ( restrict symbol). Now like songs are added to favourites but does anyone know where the dislike list is?
Hi allI have a beam and just purchased 2 ones to act as surrounds. I have a Samsung tv which is about 6yrs old. It has a hdmi port but it is not hdmi arc so I am connecting the beam via optical. I also have an Apple TV I use as a set top box. Difficulty I am having is because my beam is connected via optical I can only get pcm audio from my tv and the surrounds are extremely low volume. The tv supports dts neo 2.5 but only through the hdmi not the optical, it seems. Is it even worth having the surrounds with just pcm? i have to say I expected a lot better than this for $400. Any help much appreciated
So I’ve connected the roam at home, works fine. 👍So can I now take the roam to work and use it via Bluetooth? (Without Wi-fi)At work it’s showing I’m connected, got a blue light and on my phone it’s connected, but I can’t select any music from my library!! In the setting menu, my email is clouded so I can’t open it!!
Just curious, anyone else order a arc set around the first week of April and have had their order shipped? I got a estimated ship date of April 23rd back when I ordered it, but all it says is order is placed and it’s backordered. Is there still hope for it to ship on or before the 23rd? Thanks!
Hi allI am trying to determine whether the Sonos Arc will work with my setup… PS5 and a gaming monitor that does not have HDMI Arc or eArc Trying to understand the connection options for the Sonos ArcDoes the PS5 plug into the Sonos Arc and then the Sonos Arc plugs into Monitoir (HDMI) - passign through the video signal or is the inteded setup that the PS5 plugs directly to monitior and in order for the sound to get back to the Sonos Arc it requires a eArc/Arc HDMI connection to the Sonos Arc?Not 100% sure on how eArc/Arc works as never had to use it before… I understand the relvance for TVs but with a monitor that receives its video/audio one way from source (PS5) also any limitations in passign through the arc to monitor in this way (if the first way oif connectivity is possible ) ? I did have an older bose soundsystem but the passthrough capped me at 1080p and obvioualy nowadays I want greater .Cant find the manual for the Sonos Arc online - assume all done through app Any advic
Hi all. Am I correct in thinking I could buy a usb turntable then connect it to play through my MacBook and then output via Airplay to any or all of my Sonos speakers? Or am I missing something?Seems a better idea than a bluetooth turntable to my Move because the other speakers can't get involved. Roam sounded promising until I read that Sound Swap cannot swap a bluetooth source back to the other speakers that are on wifi.I realise that a port or sub or 5 or connect with line in would probably be better but just trying to work with what I already own after buying a turntable. My old vinyl wants out of the loft!!
Plan to power my B&W LM 1’s with my Connect 1 amp. Will use my wonderful Denon DCD 1560 and, I hope,Qobuz. I don’t want to add on to the Sonos hookup that runs elsewhere. Two question: the office room for this is going to need its own router, and the Connect has lost its power chord. (It couldn’t be me.) Would welcome suggestions and a power cord for sale.
I have had sonos for a few years now. I initially had a play 3 with a bridge (this worked fine). After the system upgrades a few years ago the bridge went, along with the play 3 (different reasons). I now have a move and a play 1 and no bridge. Almost every time i come to use it i have to restart the router to make it connect. Constantly i have “unable to connect fix it” message, using that link does nothing except make you reconnect everything, utterly useless. I use the speakers without cables, since this is by far the most convenient setup for me. But it simply doesnt work. My laptop, my tv, my phones, everything else works fine, never a problem. But the speakers just dont work properly. I try them separately, together, through spotify, through sonos app nothing. Only a router reboot does the job. This is hardly a seamless system. I have moved house 4 times with this system, each time have a new WiFi network from a different provider in a different location. And always never a probl
How do people generally interact with Spotify and the Sonos App? I’m keen to use the Sonos app as I like the user interface but the biggest issue for me is that it doesn’t have an offline mode in the way Spotify does. So if I start to create all my playlist in the Sonos app using Spotify subscription, but then leave home and want to listen on headphones (without connection) I’d have to go back to Spotify direct which won’t have my saved playlist. This keeps me using Spotify and just using the connect feature to put music to my speakers, but I’d imagine Sonos want to address this. It would also be a reason I would be reluctant to buy any future Sonos headphones. How would you use it on a plane for instance?
Hiim looking for recommendations for best most suitable Sonos set up for our morning room which runs into the galley kitchenthe Morning Room is 12ft x 12ft and the kitchen is 17ft x 9ft. At the moment I just listen to music and radio on a 2nd gen play 5. We are putting a tv in the morning room and I’d like stereo sound, I’d also like the option of having a speaker at the far kitchen end for when I just want music or radio in the kitchen. It’s rare that the music is played at any great volume, just want the quality therefore thinking of Sonos Beam with Alexa under the tv, poss 2 x SL Ones in the morning room and then 1 x SL One at the far end of the kitchen, and then sell the play 5. I gave an arc in my living room but don’t want to spend that much on the set up for these two rooms. any thoughts/ suggestions for the best system for this room combination thanksdave
So I have previously had a Sonos Connect for a long time as my way of playing through my Denon Av receiver. I used to have Russound but have since replaced that with 3 Sonos Amps powering in wall speakers with numerous Sonos 1s around the house. As the Connect is aged and doesn’t mesh with the new updates I would like to replace it. That said it would be nice if I could find a way to have my Sonos turn on my Av receiver like my Apple TV when I use the remote and then play music into the Denon say from a Sonos Port or Arc or whatever. I’m just tired of having to turn on my Denon and then change the input to have my Sonos music play in my living room. I only use my Sharp Aquos Quattron LC-60LE832U as a monitor with the Arc HDMI feeding my Denon. So my Apple Tv, bluray player, and xbox are connected to my Denon. What are my options?
I send back the roam speaker. I have a few components as well a move running under S1. Roam is not compatible with S1. Makes no sense to keep it.I guess I will change to another system in the future. Sorry but incompatibility is a no go
Hey Sonos Engineers! I know this has been touched upon. I previously submitted this request to support and they encouraged me to share here to keep the conversation going. Is there any chance we could implement a soft switch for line-in audio to bypass the computer for "delay disable" functionality. I understand and appreciate the reason for the delay. However, I'm running turntables through a mixer and into the line-in of the PLAY:5. Can't teach my son to mix records with that delay, and since we're set-up in a communal space, my wife is not too keen on bringing out the old mix monitors. Can you dig it? Can we figure out a way to manually disable the delay on an individual speaker basis? Otherwise love the gear! Thanks! Here's quote from customer support. Hope it isn't too heavy handed or out of school to post: "I'm not on the development team, but I personally think that it wouldn't be too hard to implement some kind of soft switch to bypass the computer
So….. With the new S1 & S2 controlers now discriminating devices i am no longer able to play the same music in all rooms in my house !!!!!The 4 play 5 speakers i have in the livingroom can now ONLY work with the S1 controler. And the bedrooms, Kitchen, Garage & Office only work on the S2 controler. So im either Forced to buy 4 new play 5 speakers to enable all music in all rooms.Or live with the fact that after years of excelent service …. Some bright spark at Sonos thinks this is an exceptable UPGRADE !!!!!!!I THINK IT SUCKS !!!!!
Dears I still have 3 x Play:1’s in my system which is controlled by the S2 software.Controlling these Play:1’s goes smoothly with the S2: I have a stereo pair which I can group with the eARC etc …The SONOS scan of my system tells me that these Play:1’s are not S2 compatible. Is there an issue that I’m not aware of ?Will there be an issue in the near future ? rgds Luc
