Theres a ton of questions on this and other forums about surround speakers not working well when PCM (Stereo) feed is detected and it seems there is a setting missing from the “Surround Audio” page of the controller. This is especially the case in my set up, where my speakers are used primarily to fill the space in a large area so that music primarily fills the room, this set up works really well with stereo audio sources and really comes to life when we use surround sound (and apple spatial audio does this well). However every time we come across a video source where stereo (PCM) audio is present, the ambient rear speakers just are not powerful enough to fill the room. We have the option for Audio sources in the “Surround Audio” settings that allow for Ambient or Full Music Playback which is great for audio, but we need the exact same option for Stereo PCM (Video Equivalent) - Maybe this could even be solved by a tick box that just says “apply these settings to PCM Audio”Obviously I rea
Hello. Before I return my speakers - I thought I would check here for advice/ideas. I have 2 kids who do not have tablets/phones in their rooms. They do have their own Spotify accounts on my family plan. I bought 2 gen 2 Sonos One speakers hoping I could put then in their rooms and set speaker 1 to leverage Alexa to play Spotify account 1, and speaker 2 to leverage Alexa to play Spotify account 2. I see that I am able to associate multiple Spotify accounts within the Sonos app, but it appears that I can only able to select 1 account to play on either given speaker. Further, when 1 speaker plays music, the other speaker is not able to play different music. For example, if speaker 1 plays song A, and speaker 2 starts song B, then speaker 1 stops playing song A. My goal is to allow kid 1 to listen to Spotify account 1, and kid 2 to listen to Spotify account 2 at the same time, without conflict, and to have this able to be controlled via voice controls. Do I have any options here? If not
I have a set of Dali Rubicon 2 stereo speakers that I was planning to be run by a Sonos Amp. I have been told (not tried yet), that the Amp will not have sufficient power. The setup is primarly to be used as a stereo for music, but I also wanted to be able to connect TV sound. Any recommendations how to setup my stereo speakers? Can I use a Beam connected to the TV and stream audio to a Port connected to external amplifier for the speakers? Will the be a delay?
I contacted Sonos 3 separate times to find out what devices support Trueplay (please do NOT send me links to Trueplay compatible devices on Sonos site. I’ve seen it and it doesn’t tell me anything.) I was told that the iPad gen 8 WAS compatible with Trueplay so I bought a used one and come to find out it doesn’t work. I was also told by others on forums etc. that it would work also. Between this and the last update I’m at my wits end. Why can’t Sonos put out a complete list of every individual ios device that supports Trueplay. Now I’m out hundreds of dollars. No, I don’t know anybody that I can borrow a device from. Can anybody tell me exactly which iPads (not iPhones) support Trueplay please!!!
If I watch tv I cant hear the people’s voices clearly as they speak. Can it maby be my optic cable?
I am in the process in getting a new TV (Samsung Frame) which will be mounted over a fireplace. I previously had a setup using a Sonos Sound Bar , Sub and two Ones. Mounting a Sound Bar (even the Arc) is not going to be feasible above the fireplace. What option do I have for TV sound without using a Sound Bar? (e.g. just using the two Ones perhaps)? Thank youAnthony O.
That's it... That's my question! Reasons please... Thanks in advance community.
I have an ATV connected to a projector. it goes through an Arcana before the split HDMI feed gets to the projector and Arc When I finish using the ATV, I leave it at the Home Screen. It is set to sleep after an hour’s inactivity currently, and I’ve previously tried it with sleep disabled. There is no HDMI-CEC on my Sony projector so the only thing that controls my ATV is me, with the remote, and the sleep function. Fairly regularly (maybe 1/5 of the time) when I turn on the projector then try to wake my ATV I get no picture or sound. I can successfully ask my iPhone to Screen Mirror to it. This makes me think the ATV is functioning and waking up, so I’m assuming the Arcana isn’t noticing it waking. Does anyone else have this setup or this issue?
I have an ARC and LG C8 connected via the HDMI ARC port. About 6 months ago, the sound started not to come out of the ARC and when I tried to turn up the volume, I received this volume bar at the bottom of the tv with a green music note merged with the bluetooth symbol. I disconnected and rebooted everything, some times the problem would fix itself, sometimes nothing would change. I can’t figure out why it’s doing this… I’m in the process of purchasing a new cable to see if that’s the issue. I have ran a diagnostic - 740537237Has this come up before? Is there any solution beside someone blowing me off and telling me it’s the TV or something else?
Is SUB compatible with SONOS 5 gen 1 AND 2?
The Sonos Controller for PC app keeps grabbing focus. This happens while minimized and while not minimized. I am experiencing this behavior across multiple PCs in the house. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?I’m using controller version 11.5.
Please bear with me, as I’m not an audiophile! We have a first generation Bridge and Connect, which we had connected to a stereo receiver to play on wired speakers in our house as well as outside. Our stereo receiver died, and hubby wants to replace it, but I’m wondering if we’re better off just changing up our whole system (and taking advantage of the upgrade program). I realize it’s 2022 and wires are no longer needed, lol!Without wanting to pay a fortune, I’m wondering what our best options are. Just get a Roam or Move for when we’re outside and a One for inside, and get rid of all the wired speakers in our house? Or what about the Amp — is that something that can just be hooked up to the existing wired speakers? (Though yes, I realize it’s on back order…). I’m assuming that an actual receiver is no longer needed, as everything we’d be listening to is streamable…Thanks for any help you can provide to an old dinosaur!
Hi everyone, I am finding myself a bit confused with all of the audio options that come along with the Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB Turntable and am hoping to find some input.I own several Sonos products such as the Beam, a set of the Play:1 speakers and the sub.My questions are:Is it necessary to purchase another speaker like the Five or can I use something to push the sound out to one of my existing speakers? If I do need to purchase a Five speaker, is it possible to group it together with my current setup and play the music through my existing speakers?Appreciate any feedback and insight! This is also my first time venturing into the turntable space. ☺️
Hi, i am restoring my living room and i am getting a steel beam in the roof behind the sofa.Inside the steel beam its room for one sonos ray on each side. can multiple sonos rays Play music together? also in the future, if i get an sonos arc for example, can the sonos ray work as a back speaker ? regards Benjamin
I know the topic of speaker selector switches has been discussed before but i would like to add a few points and or questions to the discussion. I’m presently using a sonos amp with 2 sets of wired speakers (one indoor and one outdoor). I understand the ideal setup would be to use two amps but that would be so expensive. The obvious option would be a speaker selector switch but there are complications with this eg. sound degradation, impedance, and possible damage to the amp. My question then is could Sonos not produce their own speaker selector switch that would be guaranteed compatible with the Sonos amp or at the very least make some recommendations of switches made by other manufacturers ?
Hello Sonos community! I have a Sonos arc and I’m using an arcana to get audio to it from my Apple TV 4K. As I currently have it set up I am unable to control the volume from the Apple TV remote, either the physical version or the iOS widget. Before I start tinkering around I would really appreciate it if somebody could confirm whether or not they have volume control working with a similar set up? If you do then it will either be my Sony projector or my HDMI switch that is to blame. Could these be the problem?
Sonos app on iOS (currently 14.12, but this issue started sometime before that): touching an existing alarm in order to view/change its settings freezes the Sonos app. Have to kill/restart it. Can toggle existing alarms off/on, can create a new alarm, but can’t get to the settings to change the time or volume. I know that I could access these settings as of late February, so the problem crept in after 14.2. I can access these settings through the desktop app -- but (for example) the volume control is an uncalibrated slider, so I can’t tell whether I’ve set the weekend volume the same as the weekday volume. So it’s not ideal.
The Roam charger cord is permanently attached to the base, which is already bad, but then the other end of the cable is a USB-A plug. Welcome to 2015.
Is it possible to have a quicker way to switch between Ambient and Full modes when listening to music? Depending on where I am in the room I may bounce between the two modes, currently a bit tedious to navigate through the settings to do this. A simple button on the main playback screen should suffice
I setup successfully my SYMFONISK speaker using my Sonos App in my Android phone. Few days later, I use my friend’s iPhone to setup the same but with different Sonos account. she was not able to. Now my Sonos App also not able to connect to my SYMFONISK speaker. Does anyone encountered this?
We have a new built house with an open space kitchen/living. We listen to a lot of music all the time. I have provisioned two play 5 at the corners marked with red (power and ethernet connection at 2.5m height). Will it be enough? Any other suggestions?
Best settings for each device for this setup: LG C1, Series X, Arc?
Hi my Sonos Move doesn’t charge through the USB-C port, never has worked. Is there a setting that I don’t know about or is this a common issue? I’ve seen a few people saying the same thing. I only discovered the port a few weeks ago and i’ve tried various different chargers none work at all.
My wife and I just set up our Arc+Sub in our living room, and One SL’s in each of our our offices. Everything was set up perfectly using my account/email via the Sonos App on my iPhone. Now my wife would like control on her iPhone so she can manage her office speaker independently. Can she create her own Sonos email/account and link up to our system at the same time as me? Or, does she need to use my email/account within the Sonos App on her iPhone? Thank you!
