HI all. I’me looking to move away from my Yamaha AV receiver which i use to power 2 towers and 2 bookshelf surrounds.I’m thinking of getting an amp to power the fronts, and either a second amp to power the surrounds or 2 * one’s.Looking for input from anyone that has done this and experienced any gotcha moments.Thanks.
Can I use my Belkin F7U054 wireless charger that I use for my iPhone 11 for a Sonos Roam?
I have an Arc/ 2 One speakers/Subwoofer system with Apple 4K TV streaming device; Sony A8H TV. The Apple TV is connected via the Sony’s E-arc port. I’m having an issue where the Apple TV sometimes doesn’t turn on the Sonos system along with the TV on startup, and an issue where the Sonos system goes into solid green status light mute mode after the Apple TV tries to shut down the TV/Sonos system. (Others in this community have posted about this problem in the past.)I went into the Sonos app on my phone and under System>TV SetUp toggled off Use IR. I think was was happening was the Apple TV was trying to turn the Sonos system off and on while the Apple TV remote was sending duplicate/conflicting or lagging IR signals to the Arc. Hopefully, with the Sonos IR recognition shut off, the Sonos system will receive instruction only from the Apple TV itself, and resolve my issue.I’ll keep everyone posted.
There is an easy fix! Going into the Xfinity app on your computer or device you need to check the connectivity of all your Sonos speakers, especially the Soundbar(s). The Soundbar(s) must to connected to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for the Surrounds to connect. If the Soundbar is paused or disconnected the Surrounds will not connect. My One SL would not update from 14.8 to 14.10 (now 14.12 as of today, 20 September) when that update came out. Sonos Support is still saying there are know issues. These issues are from customers; not Xfinity. Maria from Sonos Support got the problem fixed, albeit it took an hour on the phone and Maria remotely accessing my laptop, but once we got the connections in order my One SL updated in a matter of seconds and I could connect my One SL’s as surrounds again. Please note the Surrounds have to be in vicinity of the Soundbar you are trying to connect to; not your Gateway. I hope this helps all of you having this problem.
I am in the process of acquiring a Port. I have a Rotel RA-930AX amp. I am wondering if, with turtable and cd player connected to the amp through appropriate inputs, you can connect port output to tape in and port inputs to tape out and thereby be able to plau the turntable and the cd player to other sonos speakers. I understand that they would be out of sync with the speakers connected to the rotel but I don’t need to play through all peaskers simultaneously. In other words, if what I am asking works the syning is not an issue.
I want to use both a CD player and turntable with the Sonos Amp - what’s the best way of doing this? Thanks
My existing setup is a Sonos Amp, a Sonos Sub and a pair of conventional ceiling speakers wired to produce stereo audio (obviously). I then bought a Sonos One SL to add to the same room to “widen” the audio image. However, when adding it to the system it did not offer me the option of adding it to the existing room. So, I just created a new variation of the room name. But now when I play audio I get 2 volume controls on the app (one for what was the original setup) and one for the new speaker. This means I have to adjust one of those volume sliders each time I begin playing from my music library. How can I set them up to be in the same room with just one volume control and, I assume some balance slider that I can set once and then leave? Thanks in advance.
My son stuck a ping pong ball in the sub. I tired everything to get this out and can not. It rattles around and sounds awful when music or music is on at medium volume. I called Sonos’s and they told me it would cost $600 if they remove it. Does anyone know how to take the sub apart ?
I purchased my 1st Sonos product today (play 1) and have it set up except I can’t get my iTunes account added to the Music Library. It is asking for my “computer name” and I only use my iPhone because my laptop is outdated. Is this possible to set up this way? And If I have to use my laptop, how do I find the computer name? Thanks in advance for any help! I am not very computer savvy!
Will Sonos net still be using 2,4 after this new firmware with 5 GHz support? And how to select channel?
I recently moved to a new home where the previous owner had one Sonos Connect and 2 independent amps to run music to 4 rooms: living room, kitchen, family room & master bedroom. I am currently using the Connect to direct music to the kitchen ceiling speakers.I own 2 Play 1 and a Play 5.Question- what is the most economical way to expand my use of this equipment short of just forgetting the ceiling speaker installs. Do I need to buy 4 Connects or Sonos Amps? Segregation of the music source is limited by those 2 independent amps which have an A/B System capability. Thanks Gerry
I have the Sonos move and I also compared it to the Bose portable smart speaker. The Bose app allows you to control the audio EQ while using the app and easily switch between wifi or bluetooth and turn off the speaker using the remote. Another frustration with the Sonos app is that I can’t even see what percentage of battery is left when I’m on bluetooth. I know this is a wifi first speaker but since they added bluetooth, they should update the app functionality. Does anyone know how to see the percentage of battery life on a Sonos Move when using bluetooth mode? Are there any 3rd party apps that provide the ability to control the power, switch between wifi and bluetooth, control EQ and show battery usage on while on bluetooth? Thanks
Hi.I have a Canadian Sonos account but bounce back and forth between Brasil and Canada. I have Sonos gear in both countries. I know I can purchase Sonos HD Radio with a Canadian credit card and play it in Canada. But will it continue to work with that account when I return to Brasil, or will it be geoblocked according to my IP address or by another locator method? Thanks.
Looking at all your Sonos Radio stations and you have a category of Christian, but unlike every other music service out there you don’t play popular Christian or Worship Music. You have a channel called Grace with a sub-name of Crossover Praise which is just pop music that might have a positive message. I wish you would add a modern praise station that is consistently pure Christian music. Examples are SiriusXM the Message or Pandoras Today’s Christian Hits Radio or Spotify Best of Live Worship. Its almost insulting to think someone thinks the music played is what poeple are looking for under Christian Music.
Hi all, I don't really have problems putting my Sonos Beam working in my TV. It stream's Dolby Atmos on Netflix, HBO Max and Prime flawless. The thing is when I connect my laptop to the TV. I connect the laptop with an HDMI cable, but when I'm trying to setup Atmos home Theater it doesn't recognize it and I'm struggling to find a way to stream movies from my laptop to the TV and return Atmos, I'm only getting PCM audio. I understand that the problem might be related to the fact that even though the Beam is connected via eARC the laptop is only connected by normal HDMI. Does exist a workaround for this? How can I use my tv as a extended screen of my computer and have Atmos. Thanks in advance!!Cheers
I recently purchased an Apple Watch an was surprised, that there is no official app to control Sonos from the Watch. I just wanted to add my Feedback, that I miss that feature and would rather not rely on a 3rd party product to have that feature.
I am experiencing sync issues with Sonos 5 using Airplay to sync with Apple iMAC that has HDHomeRun device attached for TV access. Any suggestions as to how to stop sync issues?
I am looking for a real audiophile’s recommendation on how to best wire the setup for a backyard that is a wide open .75 acres with upsloping embankments on both sides and rear (looks like a bowl). Both speaker wire and access to wifi and electricity are no issue. I am looking for general location ideas as well, but just getting the load correct would be a huge help. Here’s what I have: 3 sonos amps3 sonance passive subs6 sonance garden series speakers5 Sonance passive outdoor speakers2 Sonos play 5’s that can be protected from elements.
A music video, whether on YouTube or another video medium, sounds better with energy and punch than if I listen to it on Spotify.does sonos apply different equalization for video and another one for music streaming?I enjoy more when I listen to the songs from a video because they are heard with more energy and more punch and it is unfortunate how the music is heard from the bar if I use music that I have on my cell phone or from Spotify, my Sonos Five sounds better the music from Spotify that my Sono arc.Can Sonos improve this on the Sonos arc?
Hi, Im new at SONOS, so Im looking for your advice. Right now, Im bulding a TV room in which I want to have these SONOS products, or at least know if I need them, but anyway I need some advice.I would like to have an Arc Soundbar under my TV, next will be the Sub (Gen 3), also Im looking to get the In-Ceiling Speakers by Sonos and Sonance, all of these for the inside, and for the outside the Outdoor Speakers by Sonos and Sonance. My main question is: do I need just one Amp, or two? Also, will these speakers sound together? Can I just play the inside speakers, and not the outsides, or the other way, just outside and not inside?
Hi there,I used to have 5.1.2 setup with Sonos arc and two play 1’s, but since I moved recently, the play 1’s aren’t really an option anymore. So I was wondering a few things.1. Is it possible to use Sonos Arc + Sub alongside a Sonos Amp + two in-ceiling speakers, and use the in-ceiling speakers as left/right behind the couch in my home theatre setup?2. Is it possible to have the same amp connected to another pair of in-ceiling or wall speakers for instance in the living room, and while running a movie on the home theatre sound setup, to be playing music on these? Or would I need another amp for that?I hope you can clarify for me :-)All the best.// Mikkel
Hello all, I'm looking at replacing our Playbar (5.1 setup) before Autumn as we do have a fair few Movie nights.I've been looking at the Sony HT-A7000 soundbar as well as the ARC.Cost wise, obviously the ARC wins but I'd be interested if anyone has tried both and what they thought?.The HT-A7000 with sub and surrounds is a fair wack £ wise but looking to get a good 6+ years out of either (like our Playbar). Will Play:1s and a 1st Generation Sonos Sub connect to the ARC?.I know it's an odd question to ask on a Sonos forum but interested in hearung from anyone who's tried both systems.
I bought 2 Sonons ones for my home. Did not realize they would not work with Bluetooth. I want my tv sound to come out of my Sonos one speakers. If i buy a Sonos Ray will I be able to connect that to my wifi Sonos one speakers?
In addition to risks for humans, electronics in general may have some issues, particularly battery operated equipment. While the equipment might not instantly destruct, extended operation at elevated temperatures will impact long term reliability. At some point batteries will become a fire risk. Some Li-ion batteries will shut down charging above 45°C. Certainly, keep your battery operated items out of direct sunlight.Below are some SONOS specific specifications:Maximum operating temperature:ROAM: 95°F 35°CMOVE: 113°F 45°COther products: 104°F 40°CI’ll note that interpreting these specifications is slightly vague in one respect:Are the portables “operating” if they are simply sitting on their charger or in standby? While I don’t think that many users would “operate” for extended periods at these maximums, the portables could be thrown in a backpack and carried for a while.
