I have a large(ish) Sonos system locked down at 8.4 (because I still use CR100 controllers). The bridge has finally died so I have temporarily wired one of my ZP Amps as a bridge. Is it possible to buy a boost and use it, or will it need me to upgrade the system version (which obviously I cannot do).I don’t want to accidentally trash the CRs by adding a component that needs a higher software version.
I have had this problem since I purchased the Sonos Arc about a month ago and it is getting very frustrating.I have a TCL 75C727 TV with the Sonos Arc connected in the eArc HDMI port and stream everything through an Nvidia Shield TV Pro. The TV is set to passthrough audio. When I first start up everything the Sonos Arc is outputting the correct audio formats. For Disney+ the app will show Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 correctly depending on media. For Netflix it is Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 and for Youtube it is Stereo PCM.However once I turn off the Nvidia Shield and TV and turn everything on in a few minutes the only format that works correctly is the Dolby Atmos. All the other formats show up as either Dolby Multichannel PCM 5.1 or Dolby Multichannel PCM 2.0.I have tried powering down the TV and the Shield but the problem only resolves when I power down the Sonos Arc and restart it and then the audio formats are correct again, until the next time I want to watch something.Has any
Hello all. I’m working to rip an old non-functional crestron system out and simplify. What we haverack with 3x gen1 sonos zone units, ie unamplified devices that go into a crestron audio matrix. Plan to remove all of this and replace with 3x of the newer ‘AMP’ models. These run to 3 speaker zones.2x Direct TV receivers in the rack, routed through crestron. Looking for options here. Willing to move DTV boxes to each TV, but then how to get audio into Sonos. ‘Port’ units? What if I put a soundbar in at the TV and used that for input, can sonos take input on the sound bar and distribute it to the other speakers etc? ie, DTV->Arc->AMP1 and AMP2 and a Sonos One?Alternatively, keep DTV in the rack and figure out how to stream the video to each TV. Can’t figure out if there is an ‘on net’ streamer for DTV i can use or not. If they are in the rack, can I double duty the AMPs as inputs? For instance, DTV1→AMP1 then stream anywhere. And.. if so… can the AMP’s input be separate
Logitech pushed out a firmware update at the end of March that broke the volume adjustment on my Sonos system. It takes about 10 presses of the volume on the remote before anything registers. I was hoping that Logitech would push out another firmware update to fix the issue but I am starting to think that is not the case. Has anyone else found a solution to the problem or a better alternative? Thanks!
I’m looking at purchasing a Synology DS120J 1 bay NAS System with 1x 3Tb WD Red HDD to use as storage for all my music CDs (a mix of standard and SACD formats). I would like to connect the Synology NAS to my Sonos system which is made up of 5 Sonos ZP120 Amps and 1 Sonos ZP90 Zone Player in order to play my music throughout the house via the Sonos App.Could you please advise if this setup will work for me.
Hi everobody,i sold my receiver and my Klipsch speakers. But i kept my turntable, my phono preamp, my Sonos connect, my Sonos play 1 and 3. I wanna play my turntable in my speakers thru my connect. I read this article When i had my receiver, my turntable was grounded to my preamp and my preamp was grounded to my receiver. So my question his: do i have to ground my preamp to my connect? Because there his no ground on the connect. Thank you.
I listen to a radio station called Adagio FM using MyTuner Radio. It has a sister station called Entranced FM but it is not on MyTuner Radio (nor TuneIn). How can I listen to it’s audio stream on Sonos?http://adagio.fm/http://entranced.fm/
Hi,I wanted to ask if in the near future there will be additional sound modes that can be selected such as: sports, music, etc., since for example in sports broadcasts I would like to hear the audience more than the commentator. If not, can I play with the settings to get a sound profile similar to what I listed above about sports mode? I currently have a Beam gen 2 and plan to buy two One SL. Thanks
Often get this message on my iphone while listening to music! This happens when network is working fine, wifi is good on phone and other devices, etx - nothing changed, then, “unable to connect.” And I can't stop the music or adjust volume. Fix is to reboot everything over and over. System is Play:1
Hi AllI have a dedicated home theatre room in our home and am setting up the surround sound with sonos.i will buy an arc, 2 play 1’s for rears and the sub. The room has a cat5 connection to a router which connects to the modem.I am wondering how best to set up the wifi in that room as a dedicated new network just for the home theatre components. I dont want it to connect to the rest of the home.I am not very savy when it comes to wifi. I was thinking of setting up a WAP in the room which connects to the router and will broadcast a dedicated wifi signal : named Theatre room. Then have all the sonos products in the room use this wifi network. Will that work? any recommendations on which WAP to use? is there a better setup that i should consider? Thanks for your help.
I’ve suddenly lost sound on my Beam Gen2. I was watching some content on my Apple TV 4K and all was OK, but found I couldn't adjust the volume using the Apple TV remote, when pressing +/_ the volume didn't change and the text ‘Home Theatre -/+’ didn’t appear on the TV screen. However I could adjust the volume when using my Sky Q remote and the volume text did appear on my TV screen. When I finished watching the programme I got no sound at all so I turned off the Apple TV 4K, and found I have no sound via Sky Q either. When pressing the volume buttons on my TV remote and Sky Q remote I get the volume text appear on my TV screen, but nothing happens, no sound at all. When using the SONOS app on my iPhone I can slide the volume bar along but still no sound from my Beam and no volume text appears. When I ask “What volume is Sonos” she speaks back to me via the Beam saying “This device is at volume 1”.I have pressed the volume buttons on top of the Beam but nothing. I have a solid white light
Hi there, long time listener, first time enquirer. I’d like to place my Sonos One SL speaker on built in book shelves, only problem is that neither side of the plug can be squeezed between the wall and back of the shelf (there are a few centimeters to play with though). I’ve come up with another one of my brilliant(?) ideas - based on an old conversation on here - to cut the plug off, fish the cord behind the shelf system and reattach a plug to the end.I’m hoping I just have to find the right plug - I believe I just need something that will accommodate a 3watt, 120volt, 15amp speaker? I think this is my only question. Other than am I going to burn my block down?Any insight and suggestions welcome and appreciated - thanks in advance!
I have some old components, so can’t upgrade to S2. On the S1 app, when trying to ‘add a service’, I get a message “App update needed.” Does “update” mean upgrading to S2, or is it just a new version of S1? In other words, how do I add additional services to S1 without updating to S2?
Picked up a Gen 2 lamp yesterday. Can someone confirm if it is S2 only or can be downgraded to S1 to work with my other speakers please? It is not clear on the compatibility list, there is no Gen 1 or 2 noted against the lamp. I don’t want to set it up if I need to return it. ThanksChris
I have a Sonos Beam (Gen 2) and 2 x Play 1’s setup as a surround sound system in my TV room that works very well. They all connect wirelessly to an Ubiquity Access Point that is hard-wired to a Router that is directly connected to the Internet.I am trying to connect my new Sonos ONE (Gen2) as a standalone system in another part of the house wirelessly to another Ubiquity Access Point that is also hard-wired to the SAME Router. Both Access Points have different SSID’s as they are far apart and the one cannot “see” the other.During the new setup process the Sonos S2 App immdiately picks up the new Sonos ONE and the installation went well up to the point where the App decides to connect the Sonos ONE wirelessly to the existing Sonos System’s SSID which will obviously not work as it is too far away.PS: When I attempt to configure the new Sonos ONE my Smart Phone (Android Ver 12), I am wirelessly connected to the SSID in the new part of the house where I want to use it as a standalone syste
I have upgraded my TV sound system and now have a redundant playbar and a pair of play 1s. I have configured as a surround sound system in another room.Is this the best way of using them for audio?
I just updates from S1 to S2. Glad that I can turn off some ancient protocols on my NAS. But one thing seems weird to me. The S2 app itself seems super ugly. Maybe it’s only supposed to run on a phone? (I’m on an iPad). It’s strange to me that the player is this brownish color (see uploaded screen). And the player part doesn’t change with light mode and dark mode. It’s always this brown. Also, the library access pages seem kind of ugly. In the default skin they are like gray on gray. What’s up? Am I doing something wrong?
I've had a Sonos system for a number of years now, and have upgraded to Sonos S2 products. I have had a Port, Amp and five for a couple of years. I have recently added ceiling speakers in our new extension. These have little or no bass coming from them, even at maximum level of bass. Does anyone have an idea about what I could be doing wrong?
How do I use s1 app?
I’m just about pulling my hair out with my Sonos and 77C14.I have a Playbase, two One’s and a 3rd Gen Sub running off Optical Out. Always works, never a problem until today. Nothing from any source will play in 5.1, says Stero/PCM in the Sonos App. Tried my Sky Q box, ATV 4K, and even the on TV streaming with the TV displaying that the output is in the correct DD 5.1 or Atmos etc.Tried different HDMI cases, just in case, tried a different Optical cable, still the problem persists. Read 1000 different solution and tried everything I can find/think of. Anyone have a clue please as it’s doing my head in.
I one travels and streams stored music from their phone why can they not pair 2 raom portable speakers via the phone or why can’t the speakers have a TWS mode like my little 29 dollar Olitek speakers These little speakers will pair with each other and work in stereo separation mode You would think 179 dollar speakers would do this
I currently have an Arc set up using an ARC converter with Apple TV HD, 2 One SL’s and a sub set up over the Wi-fi. I’d like to set that as the default for all types of media from the Apple TV however this seems to be a gap, or I’m missing something. TV is a 1 year old 75in Samsung.
I bought a Symfonisk from IKEA and was stunned to see the setup process asking for activating location services. Especially when it already connects to the device through bluetooth.I’ve already filed for a return but if there’s a way to do the setup without location services I’d cancel it…That’s a shame that they make it compulsory; I have only one device and it makes no technical sense at all. Want to connect Devialet phantom gold to sonos - how do you do this
Wanting to create a mini home theatre but I'm not sure how to connect the Sonos amp to the arc. I know I can group them through the app, but I'm looking to sync them like the sub syncs to the arc. Any tips?
