Speakers

I have a play 3 about 2 years old that is in a secondary room and hardly gets used, it had true play or whatever auto sound deal, it blew the base as I was listening to The Beatles...I feel it should handle that without issue I mean that's a joke right? I've searched these forms and I've seen multiple people with the EXACT same issue, specifically the base cracking and blowing with easy listening. I think it's clearly a manufacturer defect and this system is too high-end to have this happening. I hope sonos makes this right...

I have Sonos speakers in 2 rooms at home. Now I like to move the one in the dining room and implement it as a satellit in the tv room. I have tried to find a Youtube about this but cant find any. Could any one let me know how I do this?

Hi All, Although I have a number of Sonos units dotted around my home they often have different queues playing (What can I say the family loves SONOS) but sometimes I want to create a playlist for future listening. Currently, this means I have to wait for a 'zone' to come available. I think it would be great if you could have a virtual zone just to create playlists. I also like to allow guests to add music to a SONOS playlist if we're having a party and we often have a tablet set aside for this to be done. What often happens though is somebody always jumps their tracks to the front of the queue, wipes a playlist or starts music in different zones (i'm sure it's all accidental). I think it would be a great idea if you could lock down a controller with a PIN to limit what can be done. Thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I just purchased two sonos ONEs and hooked them up. Previously, I had a PLAY:3 directly connected to my router in a closet because I couldn't get the speakers to work otherwise. Music played fine. But, I was told I don't need to bridge to a SONOS component directly attached to a router and that the new speakers and software should just be able to use my WiFi. So, I unplugged the speaker in the closet and after a few minutes none of the speakers works. If I have to buy a bridge to put in the closet, that is one solution, but I wasn't under the impression it should be necessary. I tried to restart a speaker and to restar the app but my efforts are not yielding any result unless I plug the speaker in the closet back in. But, this is a waste of a speaker just to establish a network. thanks Eric

Does the original playbar (the one with he mute button instead of the pause button) have the speech enhancement feature?

We've recently bought a sonos connect and some play speakers to connect to our existing stereo system and be able to play cds in different rooms than where the stereo is located but it seems impossible to play the sonos speakers at the same time as the existing speakers as plugging in the connect "mutes" the stereo speakers. Is there a solution for this?

If Sonos want us to re-invest in a whole bunch of Play 1 speakers then Sonos should offer a SUBSTANTIAL buy back program for the six Sonos 1 speakers I have just recently purchased. So now we see competition from Apple and Google and others into this market and now it's Sonos that's on the learning curve. Still mending cart wheels while the competition is off to new galaxies.

As I did buy (4) Sonos play:1 with the ensurement that Sonos have build in the chip needed for AirPlay, Sonos just pulled the support and imho a buy back recycle program should be enforced by Sonos - any change for this?!?

I need to swap a couple speakers amongst existing rooms - how do I do that? In other words, take an existing speaker that is set up in one room, and simply switch it with another existing speaker in another room...

Is it just me, or does Tidal sound better when streamed from the app on a laptop over AirPlay? Especially the masters?

My play5 has been acting odd, disappearing from my list of speakers, not wanting to pair with other speakers, while still playing. Problem goes away when I unplug and reply in, but now it’s happening almost daily. I’ve submitted diagnostics and can provide the conf. number.

When using AirPlay 2 with any music streaming app or the native iPhone Music app, playback is stopped when adding a song to the queue. Immediately after hitting “play next”, playback stops and has to be manually resumed. Anyone else experienced this bug? Seems intermittent and random.

Sonos has added support for Airplay on Apple devices. So i can play Spotify with the free account!! When will there be support for streaming to Sonos on Android devices?

I have three speakers. They are in my fitness facility. I have them all under one grouping and working fine. I have two play ones and one play five . The last when I hooked up is on a power source that is connected to automatic lights. When the lights turn off after 10 minutes the Sonos also turned off. When someone walks in the room the lights turn on, the Sonos turns on, but it does not go back into playing music. Is there a way to set it or he’ll get with the other speaker so that when the power comes back on so those the music . The other two are continually going power never shuts off .

Currently have two Play 1's in one room and Playbar and sub attached to TV in another , looking to get two of the new Sono's 1 to go with the play bar and sub as the new speakers have Alexa built in is their any reason i cant split the two new speakers , so i have a Play 1 and a sonos 1 in one room and the other Play 1 and sonos 1 in the another room and have Alexa in both rooms , is their any technical reason why this wont work or am looking for a problem which isn't there

I have a pair of Play:1 speakers in one room and a pair of Play:3 in another. Due to room sizes, furniture, etc, I am considering mixing the pairs, one each Play:1 & Play:3. How do I reassign speakers?

Is Sonos a Speaker company or a music streaming service?

My ZP90 refuses to power up since last week. Due to stereo upgrades over time it’s only function was to stream to a gen 1 play 5 in another room. My question is do I need to replace the ZP90, or is the Play 5 able to function without it? The Play 5 is in a different room to my router.

I would like Sonos to consider making a screen-equipped voice-controlled speaker like the Amazon Echo Show. I have an Echo Show in my kitchen. In this room I find a screen-equipped, voice-controlled speaker more useful than a standard voice-controlled speaker. However, because its not a Sonos device I can't control it from my Sonos apps and and I can't group it with my Sonos speakers. Furtherore the sound quality is not as good as my Sonos speakers. I would hope a screen-equipped Sonos device would support both Alexa and Google Assistant. Would anyone else be interested in something like this?

I have a pair of Sonos One speakers that I have set up in my living room and used Trueplay for calibration. I've now added a third speaker in the same room. I set the third speaker up as a different room on the app, but then paired the two rooms together so that all three are operating together. Here's the question -- how would you go about the Trueplay calibration? Would you just now calibrate the new third speaker? Would you re-calibrate the initial pair? Also -- do you think that this was the best way to connect three speakers for the same room? Any advice on this point is welcome as well.

I have two Play:1 connected to my beam. Can I increase the volume on the speakers without increasing volume on the beam?

Hi all, I have two Sonos Ones and a Sonos Beam, as well as a HomePod and a Libratone Zipp (the last of which should be AirPlay 2 compatible within a couple of months). I love that AP2 allows me to play music to all of these devices in sync. I'm considering adding two Sonos Play:1s to my Beam to create a surround sound setup. What I'm wondering is if I do so will I be able to include this bonded group as an AirPlay 2 target and still have the sound sync with my other AP2 devices, or will the additional processing required for the Beam to send sound to the Play:1s result in some lag? Hopefully somebody else will have a similar setup and be able to shed some light on this. Thanks, Rod

I can't believe I'm here saying this, having had my SONOS system which has evolved over the years for 6yrs now it has worked flawlessly up until 6-months ago. SONOS was a company brand I could trust but update after botched update lead to system instability but really grinds my gears is how they have imposed the SONOS account as a requirement - with threats of disabling MY system if I don't create a password and link the SONOS account. They have removed my ability to change music service settings or (very unlikely now) my ability to add new hardware, blackmailing me into creating and linking a SONOS account to my system. I totally get registering my system for warranty purposes, that's my choice but telling me the next update will break my system if I don't create and link a password to it and then restricting/removing my ability to configure MY Sonos system is a joke. I asked repeatedly for a justification as to why they needed a SONOS account linked to my system with a pas

I have a sonos amp that I would like to add two subs too. Is this possible? If not, can I have one of the subs set up under a different room, paired with another sonos device but just run them simultaneously?

I bought my PLAY:5 GEN 1 in 2009 and have used and loved it ever since. I added a couple of Play:1 a few years later. Anyway, as the PLAY:5 is nearly ten years old, I'm wondering if there is a trade in program and any maintenance that should be done. Again, love Sonos, no problems, just wondering what I should do to stay current. 😃
