Hi all, first post in the community ? So, I own a pair of Play:5 speakers set up in stereo in my living room, the plan is to eventually add a Sub and a Beam to the room. Ideally I'd like to hear music through the 5s and Sub. Then when watching tv or movies, listen through Beam and Sub. I realise I'll have to keep bonding the Sub to the 5s and Beam everytime I switch, however, will I also need to keep re tuning Trueplay each time I do this? If so, this is a bit of a pain, made even more so by the fact I only own an Android device and had to borrow a friend's Iphone to tune all the speakers I already own. That would probably be enough to put me off if that's the case. Any advice welcome.

Hello, I am never been able to pay music simultaneously on more than two speakers at the same time. I can play two difference sources on groups of 2 speakers just fine. Now i just bought a connect and when using line in music will start and stop randomly when playing on one speaker. Any advice?

Hi, this might be a little OCD so bear with me. I’ve just fully removes the power cord from my Play One to move the speaker. Getting the plug out of the bottom of the speaker was a challenge. I had to rock the cord from side to side to get it out, what are the chances this could damage the two prongs in the bottom of the speaker?

There is no change in volume with night mode. Is there something I need to do to see if it’s working or not? I have toggled between normal and night mode with no audible difference.

Is Play1 using the older Sonosnet version or the newer 2.0 version? What is the difference between the two generations in terms of reach and/or other issues? Does the One have greater reach than Play1? I am having some signal drop issues in a somewhat large home (120 sqm apartment in an L shape, with concrete walls) with a mixed setup of Play1s and Ones (10 units in all). Considering buying a pair of Boosts (I have one installed already) or, alternatively, exchanging some of the older Play1s with the newer One model. What would ensure the best signal coverage?

I have multiple Sonos speakers. I have also a new Benz 4K ish..projector. I also have a WiFi enabled Blu-ray player that I use to feed this projector with both Blu-ray and Netflix. I can’t figure out how to connect them to Sonos. Am planning to get a Beam,will an optical cable from the Blu-ray player to the beam do the trick? Is there any other way?

This question is to sonos mainly but just wondered if anyone else new the answer. Yesterday I was just having a look on the sonos website as we were thinking of buying the sonos one as a present for someone for Christmas & I just happened to notice that the play 3s that I purchased a couple of years ago have been marked up as discontinued & also was therefore wondering if there is a replacement & if so what it is as when I purchased them was under the impression that the play 1 was basic although very good quality speaker the plays 3 was a better quality speaker with a better sounding bass as it contains the 3 speakers rather than the one speaker in the play 1 & then there was the play5 which obviously was for a big room as it had the 5 speakers in it. I’m just not sure whether it’s been replaced or whether there’s something in the pipeline for the future.

Hello - I have two Play 5-Gen2s, Sub, and Connect (powering outdoors speakers) all connected over wifi. One of the Play 5s lost connection and would not connect (I tried several things over the course of half a day). I figured that maybe there was something wrong with my wifi (although this set up had been working for the last 6 months or so). So I bought a boost and added that to the system. Was still unable to connect the errant Play 5 and tried to reset multiple times etc. Finally on one such attempt (pressing the connect button on the Play 5) there was a low hissing sound and the unit just died. I replaced the power cord but to no avail. I have liked the system so far and built around it but don't want to plonk down a lot of $ to replace the dead unit. I realize its out of warranty but any support available from Sonos towards a replacement given the high cost of the system? thanks!

Back in April, Sonos sent out its official AirPlay 2 support e-mail. I headed straight to the blog post to confirm the rumors about having to buy new speakers to get what I've wanted since I purchased my $2,000 Sonos theater sound system less than 2 years ago (PlayBar, Sub, & set of Play:1s). We've received a feature request for a headphone line-out jack to be added to the PLAY:1, similar to the PLAY:5. This would allow headphones (or other devices connected via 3.5mm mini stereo) to output the Sonos audio from a PLAY:1. What do you think?

I have three Sonos Play 1 speakers and the sound quality on one of the three is terrible. I think the bass within the speaker has blown out or something, but the other two speakers work great. I've had the speakers for a few years now so I am not sure what sort of protection I would have. I use a connect and have the sub, 3 play 1s and a play 5. Bose has a product guarantee replacement program, does anyone know if Sonos has something similar?Overall, I have had a great experience with Sonos so I would assume so.

We have a customer with a Play:5 that keeps beeping every few minutes when it's not being used. Any ideas what this could be or how to stop it? (alarms are not in use!)

Hi. I have two sonos one in two different rooms. If i group them to different rooms they will not play in sync, but if i set them to the same room they are in sync. Why is that? They are both connected to the same wifi.

I’m considering to install 2 Play 5 speakers on my penthouse outdoor area. It a 30 sqm covered area, and 35 sqm open area. The speakers will be protected from rain, but we experience hot and humid summers. I don’t want a Wired’s solution, and i want to operate them through my other Sonos products throughout my apartment. Is there any better solutions than Play 5 covering the above mentioned conditions.

I have just got the Sonos One but I cannot find the command to turn the device off? I have attempted multiple different commands with Alexa but nothing works? Can anyone help me with the correct command or does the device just stay switched on at all times? Thanks in advance

I know it sounds utterly ridiculous, but there are ants living in my Sonos PLAY:1. As there's no easy way of opening it up, I can't try to kill them all, but they are constantly crawling out, and also seem to leave behind little black flecks of something. I assume they're eating something in the speaker (maybe the rubber?). Not sure if anyone else has had this problem but would love to hear from you if you have and have any advice, as I'm worried that the sound quality will start deteriorating as they eat away at the speaker. I've not had much luck with turning it off at the mains and leaving the speaker to cool down. They're still in there. FWIW I'm in London, UK, and it's getting into winter here - so it's not as though seeing lots of ants in any situation is a common occurrence, which makes this even more bizarre.

Is it possible to connect a microphone to sonos play 3?

I know this is a recurrent topic, but I actually believe it would be very helpful if Sonos address this issue in a concise webpage with continuous updates. Right now the whole forum is full of questions about TV's ability to pass-through a 5.1 HDMI signal. The (so voted) most helpful comment on amazon about the playbar is about the problem of not getting a real surround but an artificial constructions from a PCM 2.0 signal from the TV. And this is also the main issue mentioned in CNET for the review of the playbar. So, guys, could you make a systematic and compressive study/review of which TV's will work with the Sonos surround system? I'm currently considering to get a full sonos surround pack, but I cant not make a decision before knowing if my LG 65UB930T (LG65UB9500 in USA) is able to pass the signal form the devices connected to the HDMI ports. How can I tell the difference between the Play 3 generation 1 and generation 2?

Following on from my other thread where I'm trying to work out my ideal set up so I may want to switch the power off certain speakers for certain listening.. If I have a couple of ONE's set up with the SUB, do the ONE's still get a full range of sound or is there a high pass filter enabled so they don't have to handle the lower frequencies? What then happens if I simply turn off the power to the SUB?

So despite the Sonos set up not quite working how I wanted it to (If you have ONE's set up as rear speakers you cant then just play music from them as a stereo pair), I think I'm going to go ahead and order anyway. If I get a Sub, how does the pairing work? I think my set for for 90% of the time will be a BEAM under the tv just for TV audio. A stereo pair of ONE's for music. Occasionally at the weekend when we watch a film worth or surround sound, I'll have to unpair the speakers and set them up as rear speakers for the BEAM etc. Long stupid needless process and Sonos should include the option to save different set up profiles so you can easily switch, but thats another topic. IF I get a sub, I'd want it paired with the stereo ONE's for music for 90% of the time. Can you pair it to the BEAM as well though or will I need to unpair it from the ONE's and pair with the BEAM if I ever want to use it for TV as well?

We disabled airtime fairness to set up the Sonos One's I am using as surround sound speakers in my living room. Can I turn that back on without repercussions?

Apologies if I am overlooking the answer to this query somewhere, but for the life of me I can't seem to see anywhere that specifically addresses this. To the point, any mention I have seen about doing a surround system with the Playbar and other units refers only to Play1's or Play3's as surround speakers. Can the Play5's not be used in a surround configuration with the Playbar?
