I want to get rid of pc speakers and replace with Play:1 - can I do it?

Music is playing intermittently though... how can I solve - don't want to use cable as this defeats the purpose ... have tried moving bridge - doesn't work.

First post. I very recently purchased a Play3 unit I was weighing up the pro's and con's of a Play3 vs a Play5. Play3 had the looks, price and size going for it. Play5 had the superior sound and line in socket in its favour. This latter feature, the line in socket, was a particular issue for me as without it I think my CD collection will go the same way as my vinyl collection went, stored and then got rid of if I do not keep playing them. My eventual buying decision was to go for the less expensive Play3 and park the CD issue. If I am happy with Play3 I may well purchase the Play5 at a future date. My feedback to SONOS is - with the switch to streaming there will be many like me who have 100's if not 1000's of CD's and even if they are all available on services like Spotify, they will still want to keep their cherished CD collection and be able to play them. Surely installing a 3.5mm line in socket in the Play3 and Play1 is not such a big ask and would be seen as a generous

So here we are 10 years after Sonos was introduced, library limit is still 65k tracks, no ability to stream 24 bit or DSD. Very very weak. Unfortunately there is not a better alternative -- but as we saw with the death of the squeezebox, this won't continue forever.

Does anyone have a ZP90 hooked up to the aux input on a bose sound dock II? If yes, does it automatically power on when u hit play on the sonos? And does the volume change with the sonos remote or would the bose be controlling that? I recently purchased a sonos bundle and I am very pleased with it. I just want to be able to have an easy setup in the spare bedroom when guests stay. I like the idea of having a system in there where they can charge their ipod/iphone, play music off their own unit or choose to play from my catalog. Does anyone have a setup like this? I dont really want to go for a multi-speaker setup in here, there are many reasons which i won't go into. I like the idea of a ZP90 feeding an all in one unit like the sound dock. But have the auto power on and have sonos control the volume. Am I asking too much? Thanks. Thanks.

I keep adding songs to my queue but I can't find the queue to edit it, delete songs, replay it. It seems like a stupid question seeing as on the old Sonos app it was so easy. Any help would be great. 

Does anyone have comment on using a Play:1 as a bedside speaker? I've had a few clock radios with screens that are too bright or volume that can't be adjusted to a level suitable for nodding off. The Play:1 would seem to fit the bill, with the sleep and alarm functions. I have seen some previous posts about the challenge of adjusting volume at low levels. I already enjoy my two Play:5s and a Playbar... and am wondering if a Play:1 would work well next to my bed. Thank in advance, Dave

I just replaced my ASUS router with an Eero mesh network. On the "base" Eero, I plugged in a switch that is used to enable my in-wall ethernet network. I have another switch in a different room where I have other devices hardwired to my network. On that switch is a BOOST. That's the only Sonos product hardwired to my network. When I enabled the Eero mesh network, the Sonos network went dark. I power cycled that switch and the BOOST was able to be added to the iOS controller. I was resigned to adding all my zones one by one again. Unfortunately, they're not wanting to be added. Literally the only physical change to my network was the Eero router(s). I did not change the network configuration at all (i.e. same SSID, etc.). Anyone know what might be happening?

We are looking for a portable speaker to take outside that will connect to our Sonos system. Is there one that is compatible? My man wants it for Christmas so I'm working hard to find one.

Hello, I have a playbar/sub/play 1's connected to my main home theater and it's awesome. Now I'm looking to add a single Play 5 to a bedroom TV. The TV has 3 types out outputs (3.5mm, optical & RCA). I connected the Play 5 via the 3.5mm and the quality is horrible (I increased the line in level via the app as well). My question is, would converting the optical or RCA outputs to 3.5mm yield better results? Anyone faced this before by chance? Thanks for any help.

This topic has been in the "question" section for a year, and recently been marked as "answered", without actually being answered! So here we go again. Please incorporate a way of creating groups that consist of speakers across different rooms, which are permanent. A kind of favourite groupings. E.g. In the morning I want to use one group of speakers (all of them) to listen to the radio, as everybody in the house is awake. In the evening I want some rooms excluded, because our son is sleeping. When we have friends for dinner, I have another constellation I would like to use. BUT!!! I don't want to have to go through grouping and ungrouping every time. I would like to have easily selectable predetermined (setup by the user) groups of several rooms, where I can save certain volume settings for each group and have these synced as well (instead of having to do this each and every time as well) and am able to use the volume buttons on any of the groups speaker to change the volume si

Just bought a Sonos Play 1 today. I'm not happy with it to say the least. I was expecting by it's description and it's reviews to produce really high quality sound. I have to say I like the tone of the audio on some songs, others are to be desired, but whats rubbing me the worst is the actual quality of the audio. There seems to be a blotchy-ness with it that makes it sound almost low-res. There seems to be a lack of harmonic detail, any brass on the drums tends to sound like bad static more then a physical ringing instruments that they are. Something that really shocked me was when I was listing to "The Best You Never Had" by Leona Lewis. There's a synth tune that plays about 0:32 in the song, I like the tune, I tend to hum it when the song comes up, however whats strange is that my Sonos Play One the synth melody is almost inaudible! Then it got me thinking; "If I can't hear that, then what else can't I hear!?" There really is a shocking lack of detail in this speaker. I described

Play 5 product does not work and will not factory reset. solid white light only, no matter what is attempted. Hello all, I'm new around here (though not to Sonos) and, given the discussions I've seen in the community, I thought some of you might be interested in my experience of replacing a stereo pair of Play:1 speakers with a single 2nd generation Play:5 as the main music source in my small apartment: Owing to a small and very awkward living space (windows everywhere, bookshelves where there are no windows), I've been looking for a good sounding one-box audio solution forever. A while ago I went a listened to the first generation Play:5 and was able to compare it quite extensively to a stereo pair of Play:1s (the same price, at the time). Whilst I was personally underwhelmed by the original Play:5, I was very impressed by the Play:1s when stereo paired; so much so that I bought them, even though I was really looking for a single sound source. I currently own two Play 3 speakers and may now purchase one Play 1 speaker. Is it possible to send a stereo signal to the two Play 3 speakers while simultaneously sending a mono signal (of the same song) to the Play 1? Thanks.

I wish to know when the new version will come out. The soundbar and subwoofer are a fantastic system today. I'm not a user yet, but want to buy. My concern is that the current models are over 24 months old and normally would expect company to have new upgraded and improved versions cycle through. I can wait for 6 months for a new version as I have an overkill system (Klipsch IKON reference speaker with 12" subwoofer monster) but my wife is looking to remodel the room and prefers a cleaner look. I appreciate your input and any rumors on upgrade and what features to expect that may be worth the wait.

I am unable to get my Sonos play 1 to connect to my wifi, I can get connection using my ethernet cable. I even played my speakers right next to my router/modem.

One radio station drops out periodically (out of country).  Is there any way to increase the buffer from (I assume) 2 seconds to (say) 3-4 seconds?  I appreciate the change would add lag when switching stations, but the existing buffer is inadequate for this one station. Internet speed is fine, most other stations are fine, all four speakers in the house experience it at the same time.  I could do some stupid cludge like buffer from the router, but it seems silly and inefficient.

Am trying to setup a system to go in a lobby - won't have a laptop or phone to control and no internet access. The hardware will be a connect w/o amp, 1 play:5 and 2 play:3. The music source will be line in via the play:5 and the play:3's will be grouped so music plays on all speakers. I've got just about everything figured out except how to have a speaker lose power and then reconnect to the group when power is restored? What am I missing?

Hi - Just got my first Sonos speakers and now going away for several weeks. Not sure if it is desirable or even necessary to power off the Sonos speakers (as I do with my computer, for example) while away. Would welcome any guidance. Thanks

I have a new Samsung smart tv with bluetooth. When I search from the TV , my SONOS 5 is not found. Is there a way to connect to SONOS from bluetooth smart tvs?

I've decided to replace my expensive ($5000) 2.0 stereo system with a Sonos system in my music listening room. It is a 15' x 15' living room. I already have a pair of Plays1, and a Connect, for music in the kitchen area. I love the Sonos system. Anyway, due to budget reasons, I was thinking of a pair of Play3s + the sub or ... a pair of Play5s. I don't play super loud. I'm more interested in the sound quality. What do you think? Are the Play5s that much better for mids and highs than the Play3? I'm open to all recommendations. Thx, Rob
