Hi, Love my 2 play 5's and sub. Don't know quite how to explain, but here goes. I know sub volume adjusts with master volume, but it should be built into software so that sub volume is a certain percentage of master. A higher percentage at low volume and vice versa. I'll put it this way. When listening to low volume we use 'loudness' to give a little extra bass but at higher volume you generally don't need it. I find myself adjusting sub level according to master volume. Couldn't software be written to do this automatically using some type of gain so the listener can adjust to personal preference? I'm using the TuneInApp for several years now on my smartphone, tablet, Mac and - of course - on my Sonos devices. iTunes offers hearers the possibility to choose from different stream qualities a radio station provides. It would be great if I also may choose them from within the Sonos controller apps. This may also practical when a user is on holidays: when the user takes his Sonos Play: loudspeaker with him 😉 and connects it to a mobile 3G/LTE router this could help saving bandwidth.

Hi everyone, I'm about to pull the trigger on a pair of Play:5s but I have a question about auxiliary inputs with a stereo pair. Forgive my ignorance, since I'm not an owner yet, but when I set up a stereo pair in the app, is the aux input of one speaker pushed to the paired speaker? I'm asking because what I've read tells me that I need an AirPort Express if I want to actually use the Sonos units with AirPlay, and not via the Sonos app... am I right about that, or wrong about everything? I'd ask in a store, but I don't have a stockist nearby, so I'll be ordering online. Thank you very much for your help.

I was wondering how directional the sound from the Play:1 is? If I place it on a bookshelf which is against a common wall to my neighbour (in an apartment block), will he get much noise from it if I was to turn the volume up. Obviously I wouldn't have the Play:1 facing the wall, it would be facing the rest of the room, but I am curious. thanks.

Hello all, I'm designing a whole home audio system for my house which is currently under reconstruction. I'd like to go with Sonos. I think it'll be more cost effective than going with a multi-room audio system that they're marketing nowadays. I also am in desperate need of great sound quality and power. I plan to entertain a lot. Because of pitched ceilings, I'm really leaning towards the SpeakerCraft in-ceiling speakers so I can direct the speaker downwards. Some rooms are larger, others are smaller. I have about 8 zones all with two speakers except one which has four. I plan to use 8 individual connects to control each zone individually and/or multiple zones simultaneously. I want separate amps (not a Connect:AMP) that won't break the bank to give me the power Connect:AMP won't. The SpeakerCraft speakers I'm leaning towards are 8 ohms/125W. I'm stuck when it comes to amplifiers. Some say pre-amp + amp for the Connect, others say not necessarily. I wou

Hi there everyone, 1st post and all that so if this isn't in the right place......sorry I've recently added to my Sonos setup by adding a Playbar and an extra Play one for 5.0 surround sound and the Play 3 is in the bedroom. I used to use the Sonos Bridge when I first got the speakers (1 and 3). Obviously now the bridge is redundant. My question is does the bridge create a wifi network for the Sonos to work from or does it just extend the existing network? If it creates ones would I be able to plug it into power while camping and run my play one off it while camping? Thanks in advance K

Just got a Play 5 2nd Generation. It has a non-standard adapter. The cable is really long. My power plug is directly behind the place where I want to put the Play 5. Can I buy a shorter Power Cable? I see an option to buy a cable in the Sonos Shop but it does not specify the size.

I know the Play5s will give better bass and more volume but, what about the quality of mid-range and the upper end at modest volumes? The Play1s do well in that regard but, how do the Play5s compare to the Play1s? The reason I ask is I am putting together a 2ch music system and can go with Play1s and a sub for bass extension. Otherwise I could go with Play5s and add a sub later, if I find I want to. If the Play1s best the Play5s in the mids and highs I would go that way. Cost is not a big factor. I am selling off my current stereo system which will pay for either way I go. Is it possible for me to give access to my daughter to be able to control the Play:1 on her bedroom, and to my son to control the other Play:1 that's in his bedroom, while only me would have access to all the Sonos speakers in theentire house? I would like to give access to the children to be able to listen to their music on their tablets and smartphones, but not to the other speakers I have in the living room and in my own bedroom. Hello, I have a large open concept main floor. I just added a Sub and 2 x Play:1 to add surround sound with my existing Playbar. I also have 2 x Play:5 gen2 spaced out on the same floor. When playing music now I feel that the 2x Play:5 units are not putting out as much bass now that the Sub has been added to the system. Is this just my imagination or are the Play:5 units detecting the Sub and handing off more bass duties to the Sub?

Just hooked up my turntable/preamp into sonos connect amp. It works fine when the setting are compressed and in and out when uncompressed. I would hate for my system to compress my files. Is there any way to get around this? I would like to get the best sound possible with these speakers. As usual Thanks!

On my Sonos 1 there is no 'off' button other than the pause button on top. When not playing does it go into a sleep mode and what is the power consumption when not playing? David Smith.

Hi, i would like you to incorporate say 3 physical buttons on all Play units alowing users to activate presets without having to do it from tablet or phone. Say button 1 on play 5 in kicthen is preset to some radio chanel, button 2 is preset to a Spotify playlist etc.

Is there anyway to put the play 1 into a standby mode or does this happen automatically? Thanks Euan

I'm in love with my current SONOS setup, but there is still one device I'd love to connect to my system: my pc. I've tried a Connect to play sound attached to a video (for example from Youtube) through my speakers and while it works, there is a noticable delay (even with all the help settings). If I try the same thing with my Playbar, it works perfectly thanks to the digital input. Isn't it time to release a Connect 2.0? All digital? You have the technology (as proven by the Playbar), it shouldn't be too much problems to put it all together in a new Connect.

Am I able to connect multiple speakers to different media sources?  I currently have 1, Play:1 speaker and a bridge but I want to be able to play music through one speaker along with tv audio or other music through another when I buy a second speaker.  Which kind of speaker can i purchase to do this?

I have a Sonos Play 1, and I only have a mobile internet connection. When I purchased, I also bought a WiFi Router so I could set up the Sonos and play music, but this WiFi network is not connected to the internet as I only have through my phone. I researched but couldn't find a way to stream music from my Apple Music and TuneIn accounts to my Sonos at home. My question is, how can I stream music and radio from my phone to my Sonos with only a internet connection from my phone? Hope this makes sense. Thanks everyone

Is this possible to JUST take my PLAY:3 to another house and it will work? Note: My PLAY:3 currently is connected to other sonos devices in my house. So can i temporally have my PLAY:3 on a different network on ITS OWN?

Simple question really.... I'm about to set up a Play:1 and Play:3 and have a few questions. My router is a dual band Trendnet TEW-818 transmitting 3 networks 2.4 (b/g/n legacy devices) , 2.4 (n only IP Cams) and 5(n/ac modern hi-speed devices). My PC and android device both connect on the 5Ghz network. Now I know that SONOS runs on 2.4 (b/g) but when I'm setting up the system do I have also have to put one of the devices also on the 2.4 network? And once setup will I be able to use the the PC and android on 5Ghz and still control the speakers? My router automatically passes traffic between all the networks, for example on my Android I can see all devices on my network both wired and wireless regardless of network. Thanks in advance.
