I would personally love to see SONOS make a speaker in which is made to take with you, lets say outside or some place with no wifi or electricity. I would kill to get my hands on one of those.
Howdy fellow Sonos enthusiasts! I live in Dallas,Texas and I’m having trouble finding a place to take my series 1 Play 5 to get looked at.. I purchased it from Target about 2-3 years ago.. love it, but one day it just stopped working.. 😞 I was wondering if anyone knew of an electronic store or company that services Sonos speakers or could offer a suggestion that could point me in the right direction? Thanks folks!
Correction to a previous topic. My SONOS 1 stopped working and it could update the software via WIFI. Finally I connected to Ethernet cable and I updated the software and started to work normally. What can I do to make the SONOS 1 work with WIFI again?
Hi all, a bit new to Sonos, hoping someone can confirm my understanding and make recommendations. Just started testing the waters by getting a Play:1, and of course I like it, but was sad to figure out after my purchase that audio source options is limited. Specially, I listen to a lot of BBC Radio1 via their website, and I was under the impression I could connect my smart TV, but now realize I need to get other products to make either of these things possible. To listen to music coming from a web browser I'm pretty sure my options are A) Connect my TV to a Playbar via optical input and stream my laptop/iPad to the TV (via Apple TV), or 😎 Connect my laptop/iPad to a Play:5 via the audio jack (or kind of like A, connect TV to Play:5 via audio jack and stream iPad to TV). I mostly listen to music, so would definitely like the clean bass from either a Play:5 or Sub. So it looks as though my options would be A) Playbar + Sub, or 😎 Play:5 (and could add 2x Play:1s to get
I have been talking to SONOS support who have been very helpful, but couldn't resolve my problem......I want better sound from my smaller LED TV's <36"............and they eventually suggested that I get as many followers for this idea as possible, which would enhance the possibility of it becoming a reality. So, please, please, all you supporters of a smaller/mini Playbar, please like and follow this conversation to continue to pile on the pressure on SONOS to take this request seriously. Thanks :) This was my question to SONOS support:------ "Thank-you for spending the time to respond to my query, I appreciate your efforts in trying to find an answer to my problem. However, it would seem that there really isn’t a SONOS solution for smaller TV’s, or to put it another way, a SONOS solution for all the TV’s in a home. What it needs is a mini wall mountable version of the Soundbar, one that doesn’t necessarily have to produce full surround sound, but one that could provide better sou
Hi there, I've recently bought a sony tv that won't let me use bluetooth headphones to watch! I am wanting to buy a sonos system for it, but was wondering if anyone knows if i can connect the bluetooth headphones (beats btw) to the sonos, so I can watch tv at night without disturbing anyone?! Thanks in advance.
Sonos marketing has definitely changed under Spence. Bootleg? 🆒 http://variety.com/2017/digital/news/sonos-bootleg-1202580235/
Alexa is officially the first voice assistant to be available on Sonos, a move that turns the wireless speaker product into a voice-controlled sound system. Originally https://techcrunch.com/2016/08/30/sonos-partners-with-amazon-spotify-for-enhanced-music-control/announced a year ago, Sonos has been working “day and night” with Amazon to implement the features. Alexa on Sonos will be available as a beta software update today. You will be able to control your speakers using Amazon Alexa-compatible devices including the Echo and the Dot. The update will be available in the US, UK, and Germany. Sonos CEO Patrick Spence calls this new platform the “Sonic Internet” and complained of “default speakers” in entry-level devices that didn’t work seamlessly with Alexa and each other. “Music is one of the most used features with Alexa,” said Tom Taylor, SVP, Amazon Alexa, in New York today. The new Sonos integration allows you to ask Alexa to “play the new Killer’s song” and Alexa w
If you want to do this, right now, just enable the "My Speaker" skill. You'll need a Windows 10 PC to run the bridge app, but that's it. No technical skills required, just install the app and run it. Enable the skill by voice, or via the link: https://www.amazon.com/ControlAV-My-Speaker/dp/B071YW8F1R (Sorry, USA only at this time)
Hi all, i damaged the front grille of my play 5. Is there a chance of a replacement part? The damage is a pea sized dent smack bang in the centre of the grille. Once you see it, you can't stop noticing it! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have sonos 5 (generation 1), I am planning to buy another sonos 5 but this time generation 2. 1. Can gen1 and gen2 both player 5 be paired to create stereo? 2. I have An existing Amp and speakers (2X100watts, 12x40watts). I am considering using one of the Sonos Connect audio output to connect the old amp with some of the speakers(E.g the 2X100watts & 5X40watts) and connect the remaining 5x40watts speakers in parallel to the second Sonos connect output. Will this work? Please advise! Thanks.
Hi everyone, I have a SONOS PLAY:1 with some issues playing. We only ever use the radio on it and have it plugged in at the wall and it normally works every morning when I press the play button - straight to the radio show we always listen to. But over the last few days when I press the 'play' button on top of the speaker it doesn't work and a red light flashes instead. Any help would be much appreciated!! Best, C
HI All Has anyone made a stereo pair using a Play 5 1st and 2nd generation. I currently have a Play 5 1st Gen and i am think of making a stereo pair, as the 1st gen is no longer available I would have to use a 2nd gen. Simple question is there any compromises or issues using two different generation of speaker, or would i be better trying to sell the 1st gen speaker and just go down the route of two 2nd gen speaker. Many thanks for your help.
Add the ability to listen to MLB.com radio via your Sonos system
Hi All, Thanks in advance for your attention, replies and advises. I am exploring options around wireless sound system - before I invest in one (Currently non-sonos user - or at least, perhaps maybe, for the moment). I would like to ask, if anyone had networked 2 units of playbars to a single TV sound source? My bedroom has a window that allows me to see/watch my TV that is placed in the living room - This is currently done by turning on the volume on the TV set, almost near MAX 😛 (When trying to watch the TV from the bedroom) I am toying with the idea of having 01 unit of the Playbar (let's call it, "Primary Unit") connected via Digital Audio In (Optical) directly to the TV in the Living Room; and the same "Primary Unit" will also be plugged/hardwired directly via the RJ45 Ethernet port to my wireless router. I intend to deploy an additional Playbar (let's call it "Secondary Unit") inside my bedroom. I do have RJ45 port in the bedroom, therefore I can connec
Hi I have approx 30 Zones, but some of the zones i.e. cinema soundbar, sub and two play1's. Therefore I have got about approx 40 SONOS Players. Anyone able to get a work around, this is for a client which I inherit the system and I have to integrate it with a home controller.
Don't Buy. Never been able to get it working properly. You can't even make it useful by plugging in your iPhone into it with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm lead. Its not plug and play which is basic for most systems.....You have to tell it to do that function with the controller.....Absolute S**T
Hi I want to add Spotify to my Sonos music services and for some reason it is not showing up. Also, when i use the Spotify app and choose the sonos device to play music it does not play through Sonos Play 1 speaker but keeps playing on the phone itself. Thanks
I'd like conect my Sonos play1 to my tv
after a power surge my Play 5 doesn't work anymore. Do you have any available schematics to try to fix it?
Hello all, I have a home Sonos environment with multiple Play 1s, a Play 3 and a connect. I'm looking to reduce radio frequency emissions in my home and would like to know if I connect all of my speakers via Ethernet cables through a switch to the router if I can get all of them to communicate via Ethernet ONLY. I understand I will still need the router to broadcast Wifi so I can use my phone to control the speakers. I have already hard wired one of the speakers and verified it is communicating via Ethernet- I even submitted a diagnostic and verified it is working through the Ethernet port... however I have a RF/EMF meter and also verified that it is still emitting the exact same wireless transmissions as when it was only on Wifi- so hooking it up via cable does not disable wifi or stop the speaker from trying to communicate over Wifi. Can anyone help me figure out how to completely disable wifi? Is it possible? I get that was not the gameplan for typical Sonos setups but re
I got my 2 Play1's and they're awesome . I read some of the threads on what stand to get and it seemed that the Omnimount Gemini 1 was one way to go ... Well , I got them ...and they're NOT the way to go .... they definitely work but the things are so flimsy that it would seem a mild breeze would blow them over. In addition to that, there is no way to hide the cables so I'm thinking of just trashing these things and starting over. Has anyone found a stand that they are really happy with? ?
