I have sonos 5 (generation 1), I am planning to buy another sonos 5 but this time generation 2. 1. Can gen1 and gen2 both player 5 be paired to create stereo? 2. Cam other sonos model like base be paired with sonos player 5 (generation 1) My objective is to create pair with flexibility. Thanks Paras
I have An existing Amp and speakers (2X100watts, 12x40watts). I am considering using one of the Sonos Connect audio output to connect the old amp with some of the speakers(E.g the 2X100watts & 5X40watts) and connect the remaining 5x40watts speakers in parallel to the second Sonos connect output. Will this work? Please advise! Thanks.
Hi everyone, I have a SONOS PLAY:1 with some issues playing. We only ever use the radio on it and have it plugged in at the wall and it normally works every morning when I press the play button - straight to the radio show we always listen to. But over the last few days when I press the 'play' button on top of the speaker it doesn't work and a red light flashes instead. Any help would be much appreciated!! Best, C
HI All Has anyone made a stereo pair using a Play 5 1st and 2nd generation. I currently have a Play 5 1st Gen and i am think of making a stereo pair, as the 1st gen is no longer available I would have to use a 2nd gen. Simple question is there any compromises or issues using two different generation of speaker, or would i be better trying to sell the 1st gen speaker and just go down the route of two 2nd gen speaker. Many thanks for your help.
Add the ability to listen to MLB.com radio via your Sonos system
Hi All, Thanks in advance for your attention, replies and advises. I am exploring options around wireless sound system - before I invest in one (Currently non-sonos user - or at least, perhaps maybe, for the moment). I would like to ask, if anyone had networked 2 units of playbars to a single TV sound source? My bedroom has a window that allows me to see/watch my TV that is placed in the living room - This is currently done by turning on the volume on the TV set, almost near MAX 😛 (When trying to watch the TV from the bedroom) I am toying with the idea of having 01 unit of the Playbar (let's call it, "Primary Unit") connected via Digital Audio In (Optical) directly to the TV in the Living Room; and the same "Primary Unit" will also be plugged/hardwired directly via the RJ45 Ethernet port to my wireless router. I intend to deploy an additional Playbar (let's call it "Secondary Unit") inside my bedroom. I do have RJ45 port in the bedroom, therefore I can connec
Hi I have approx 30 Zones, but some of the zones i.e. cinema soundbar, sub and two play1's. Therefore I have got about approx 40 SONOS Players. Anyone able to get a work around, this is for a client which I inherit the system and I have to integrate it with a home controller.
Don't Buy. Never been able to get it working properly. You can't even make it useful by plugging in your iPhone into it with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm lead. Its not plug and play which is basic for most systems.....You have to tell it to do that function with the controller.....Absolute S**T
Hi I want to add Spotify to my Sonos music services and for some reason it is not showing up. Also, when i use the Spotify app and choose the sonos device to play music it does not play through Sonos Play 1 speaker but keeps playing on the phone itself. Thanks
I'd like conect my Sonos play1 to my tv
after a power surge my Play 5 doesn't work anymore. Do you have any available schematics to try to fix it?
Hello all, I have a home Sonos environment with multiple Play 1s, a Play 3 and a connect. I'm looking to reduce radio frequency emissions in my home and would like to know if I connect all of my speakers via Ethernet cables through a switch to the router if I can get all of them to communicate via Ethernet ONLY. I understand I will still need the router to broadcast Wifi so I can use my phone to control the speakers. I have already hard wired one of the speakers and verified it is communicating via Ethernet- I even submitted a diagnostic and verified it is working through the Ethernet port... however I have a RF/EMF meter and also verified that it is still emitting the exact same wireless transmissions as when it was only on Wifi- so hooking it up via cable does not disable wifi or stop the speaker from trying to communicate over Wifi. Can anyone help me figure out how to completely disable wifi? Is it possible? I get that was not the gameplan for typical Sonos setups but re
I got my 2 Play1's and they're awesome . I read some of the threads on what stand to get and it seemed that the Omnimount Gemini 1 was one way to go ... Well , I got them ...and they're NOT the way to go .... they definitely work but the things are so flimsy that it would seem a mild breeze would blow them over. In addition to that, there is no way to hide the cables so I'm thinking of just trashing these things and starting over. Has anyone found a stand that they are really happy with? ?
Playbar and two Play.1 surround sound not working while watching tv
I am interested in the Sonos 15% off anniversary offer. I already have a setup in my living room with a Playbar, Sub and 2 x Play 1 speakers for surround sound. I'm interested to buy another Play 1 or Play 3 to use in the hallway or an adjacent room to play the same audio throughout my apartment (but only for Spotify or Apple Music, not TV sound). Is it possible to do this, can I simply add another speaker to this same zone or will it be an issue as the Play 1's are currently setup for surround sound and it can't add another?
Is it possible to buy a spare power cable for the PLAY:1? I need to cut off the plug to pass the power cable through a wall and would like a replacement in case I need to revert to as purchased.
It would be great to release the speakers from mains power. Bose and others all offer a charging base so that you have complete portability! It would be great to pick up a Sonos Play1 and walk out into the garden with it!
Hello, I just got my first Sonos, play 5, really enjoying it. I didn't buy the bridge and have it connected in wireless mode to my AP. I had to change the configuration to support b/g. Is there a plan to support 802.11n/ac? In order to support n or ac, I am wondering if it will be a different hardware or another firmware/software update? TIA
Hi Recently I bought two Play1's from best buy and i received in two different color boxes. I noticed one box has Title Sonos Play:1 and in black color and other box is just Play:1 and in red color . Speaker pictures are also different on each box. On one box it says Wireless hifi system and other box does't have that caption. Do you guys think that I received fake products. This is first time I am using Sonos product Thanks and Regards
I'm aware of the controversy around the new privacy policy that came with the release of 7.4, however, browsing on my sonos account I came across this new page which I find quite disturbing : https://www.sonos.com/myaccount/mydata/ (once you are logged-in on your sonos account obviously) These minute-by-minute stats of your listening habits make you realize just how much data is collected and stored externally by Sonos, being your hours listened, the streaming or local sources, TV hours (if you own a playbar/playbase), and in which rooms you are listening in... I couldn't find an announcement for this beta feature, but am I the only one a bit spooked by just how much stats are being stored onto Sonos servers about the usage of their product in my home? At lease this dataviz page shows it clearly... My Usage Data preference in the Advanced settings of the app is toggled off... So beside a hard firewall rule that will prevent my speakers from calling home, I believe the ch
I have a living room measuring approximately 4.5 by 5.5 meters, so about 25 square meters or almost 270 square feet. If I buy a Sonos:5, will that give enough sound for the room? I'm considering Sonos against other solutions, but if I have to buy two Sonos:5s for this room, and another one or two for the kitchen which is about the same size, I think the price is getting a bit higher than I intended. And while I'm not a hifi geek, I want fairly good sound.
Hi Purchased a Playbar today. Store personnel advised a play music quietly overnight for several days/weeks to get the best sound out of the speaker. Is this true?
I have just purchased my Sonos system . So far disappointed. Songs do not finish. I have seen a lot of posts on this but haven't read any that report a positive result. Has anyone had this sorted out? Still on hold with customer service, bad first impression. Diagnosis confirmation number 7834494.
