Essentially the description of the Sono ONE (on Amazon) says: Pair two Sonos Ones together in the same room for instant stereo sound. Cannot be stereo paired with other Sonos speakers. (emphasis added) Does this mean I can't have music playing in my Kitchen (my Play:3) and also have that same music playing in my dining room (where I'd put the new Sonos One)? It's a large open room concept for my floor plan so right now I have my Play:3 blasting music (making it hard to cook in the kitchen it's so loud), just so I can have music playing over in the living/dining room for guests. I'd like to add a Sonos ONE to my living/dining so I can play music a moderate volume on both the Play:3 and Sonos One, but I need to know they pair so I can have them playing the same music.
What is the difference between Gen 1 and Gen 2 SONOS 5’s?
I have two Play Ones in different rooms. (Also I JUST bought them and they both have problems, so I’m thinking about returning both!) In the short time I’ve had them, both of them have gotten forgotten by my Sonos app. Sometimes both go missing, other times one each. I can always get them back but right now, I CANNOT connect back to one of them. When I unplug it and then replug it, no green flashing light comes on. When I tell Sonos that, Sonos says I need to connect to it and Press the play and + volume buttons at the same time and listen for the chime. I have done that ten times, no chime. There is no other option to move forward. What do I do, keep unplugging and plugging it in all day? I don’t have time for that. I’m sitting a foot away from this speaker and my phone can’t connect to it. Incredibly annoying.
New to Sonos, have the app on iphone 5c. i have created a Sonos playlist and the onscreen instructions tell me to pres the 3 dots when browesing or listening to a song and then select add to playlist. when i press the 3 dots this isn't an option i am given. while a song is playing i am only given the option of crossfade and sleep timer when i am scrolling through songs i am given the options of play now, play next, add to que and replace queue. no option to add to a playlist am i doing something wrong?
I’d like to know if all of a sudden my existing speaker is going to be starting to listen to what is said in the house . Please confirm if Alexa or similar is going to be included in an update to existing speakers as I’ll be unplugging them and will sell or bin . Sadly I’ll have to look for another speaker system . I would like to see a statement from sonos that confirms this . Some people are happy to have everything they say be used by companies like amazon to help them advertise the right products to you or what ever else they want to use the Info for .
When i play music and after i stop the music i can hear a static noise from my sonos one. I had been told by sonos to send both my sonos ones back so i did they replaced them with brand new ones and noise still there can anyone help. Also when i say alexia its starts like when speaker is active but turns off after 2 mins. It can be heard from like 20cm away from the speaker. It is not very loud and dont increase or decrease, its just there. After a couple of minutes it stops and the speaker is completly silent. I guess the speaker goes into sleep mode or something. Q: Is this normal? Does all sonos speakers have static noise when you come close?
I am now the unhappy owner of two Sonos Play 1s falling for the scam of a "partnership" with Amazon allowing users to send music from the Echo to a Sonos Play 1. Turns out the Sonos is WiFi and the Echo Dot is bluetooth!!!! I will be publishing more on my YouTube channel. I will also mention the junk software that other users complain about skipping to next song before the current song has completed playing. Please feel free to see my review of the Play 1 versus the UE Boom 2 on YouTube. Moderation Edit by Ryan S: Removed self-promoted youtube video link which is against community rules.
My sonos play 3 grill was dented in transit. It is a few years old and likely out of warranty. Are there replacement parts or an after sales repair service that is offered?
How do you remove the grill cover on the Play 5 gen 2? I had one fall off a shelf & the bass now rattles. I’d like to see if I can repair it.
When i play music and after i stop the music i can hear a static noise from my play 1. From the top area of the speaker. It can be heard from like 20cm away from the speaker. It is not very loud and dont increase or decrease, its just there. After a couple of minutes it stops and the speaker is completly silent. I guess the speaker goes into sleep mode or something. I just have a bridge and a play 1. Q: Is this normal? Does all sonos speakers have static noise when you come close?
Devastated to find that Sonos offer no repair path for my recently damaged playbar. The cover was damaged by one of my grandchildren. Really strange reply from customer support basically saying that they 'understand' my pain. I've spent over 2k with Sonos and feel a little stranded with their customer support. I see many other threads of a repair offering (at a cost obviously), so why am I being treated differently Sonos ? Thank goodness other manufacturers don't have this 'anti-green throw it in the bin' policy.
I have 2 Play 1's in pair as my 'living room', 1 Sonos One as 'bedroom sonos', and 1 Sonos One as 'bathroom sonos'. Right now i am noticing that when i physically touch the button to lower the volume of one group speaker it only turns down that groups volume when i am playing the same music on all 3 groups. Before i got my Sonos One's i had my 2 Play 1's setup as 2 groups: 'living room' and 'bathroom'. I feel i can distinctly remember that when i played the same song on both the physical volume would turn down the music together. Am i wrong? Has this been the way it works all along and i am wrong? Do you have to use the app exclusively to turn down the volume on all the groups by the same amount?
Hello, I am looking to take my Sonos to a hotel venue for our anniversary. I only have a Play 1 and 5. Is it possible to do this and connect at the hotel? Thanks
> Hi everyone! First time poster! I have a connect amp, 2 play 1's and a play 3 and wired bathroom speakers. I also have samsung wireless soundbar and sub. Is it possible for me to connect this to my current set up? If so how? Thanks 🙂
Hi. I would like to fit Sonos on my newly acquired Motorhome. The main problem is when away from fixed campsites, I can only operate on a 12v Leisure battery. I have my music stored on a NAS and want the advantages associated with Sonos. I believe that there are some of you out there who have tried and succeeded, so any help greatly appreciated.
Our Sonos system is hardwired throughout our house. Is there a way to add a bluetooth speaker so I can enjoy in my garage as well?
Hi, I have two play 3 coupled in a stereo pair. I am planning to buy two stand to position them at the correct high but I would like to know which orientation is best: vertical or horizontal? I just read that play 3 in vertical can only produce mono sound. Can you clarify this? Thanks
I have Sonos system in my house that is made up of 4 Connect:Amp units that send audio to wired speakers mounted in the ceilings of most rooms and to outdoor speakers on my deck. Works great! I do not have any speakers installed in my garage but I do have a JBL Bluetooth Charge3 portable speaker that I rarely use, and would like to link it (via Blueooth) to my Sonos network. If there is a way to do this, can you either point me to where I can find how to do it or give me a quick lesson on how I can get this done? Currently, to achieve what I want, I can bypass the Sonos network and link the speaker to my Android phone or iPad using Bluetooth and that works well. I would prefer, though, to be able to have the Bluetooth speaker listed along with the rooms currently listed as destinations on my Sonos network. Any help you can provide would be great appreciated. Thanks...
Hi, I have a couple of Sonos Play 1's and a Naim Muso that I've had for a while longer than the Sonos kit. Normally I listen to the Muso via the Spotify app. Occasionally it would be useful to bring the Play 1's into a group with the Muso. Could I achieve that using the Connect (the Muso has an optical input) and has anyone any experience of this? I'm looking to avoid the issue of out of sync audio across the device & maintain the audio performance of the Muso whilst still being able to use the Muso as a dedicated speaker via the Spotify app when I want to. I appreciate one option is to swap out the Muso for a Play 5, but I'm not considering that option for now :) Hope that all makes sense and any suggestions / advice / experience welcome!
Hi, I've got a zp80 hooked up to a Yamaha RX-V671 through optical out / in. This plays fine in itself but when grouped with other zones (zp100s), I get some latency issues with a very slight delay between this one and the others. Is this expected behaviour and is there anything I can do to easily resolve this? Cheers Bern
I have a Bose Soundlink Air: https://www.bose.co.uk/en_gb/support/products/portable_speakers_support/soundlink_air.html and would like to connect it to my Sonos system. I already own a Sonos Bridge. Is it possible for me to connect the Bose speaker to the Sonos system? Thanks.
I believe that many owners of a Play 1 would like to buy a Sonos One, and pair the two. Am I the only one? :8
Can I set up my existing Play:1 and a new One as a stereo pair?
Hello just unpacked my new Sonos One to find out no mounting bracket holes. I was going to put it in the same position as my play 1 in kitchen does anyone know if a bracket will be available otherwise it’s getting sent back especially as I have just read that I can’t even pair it with my play 1 in another room for my surround sound. Not happy
Will Sonos launch an update for Play5 bought in October 2017 to enable Airplay2? At beginning of October there was announcement that Sonos would adopt the Airplay2 platform. However, i'm unsure if that only applies to newly manufactured speakers from 2018 onwards.
