Hi, I currently have a setup with an amplifier and 5 sorround standard speakers with a connection to a blu ray playewr, PS4 and a nintendo switch. Would it be possible to replace the amplifier and speakers with a sonos ARC and how would I have to do to connect multiple HDMI devices in to it? The TV I have is 6 months old OLED capable of handling Dolby Vision. Many Thanks in advance.
Hi, we have a Connect wired with ethernet cable (so running Sonosnet). We also have a Play5 (original) connected to the Sonosnet wifi. The Play5 is on a different floor and a couple rooms away, so a pretty good distance from the Connect. The Play5 (primarily used by my wife) has pretty frequent dropouts when using Spotify. It’s been doing this for several months. I’d like to fix this for her, as I’ve noticed that she is using the Play5 less and less because of this. Scenario 1: Do you think adding a Boost would help, located somewhere between the Connect and Play5, but not hardwired with ethernet cable? Scenario 2: I could also add a Boost and hardwire it with ethernet cable, then position it a bit closer to the Play5 (in the basement, several feet below the Play5). In this case, I would like have a 10/100 network switch between my router and the Boost (not sure if that matters). Of course, this would require running some ethernet cable, but is doable. I don’t have a clean
Anyone else finding the iOS app consistently needing to be killed and restarted just to stay connected?
Currently, I have 5.1 setup with Sonos Beam, Sub and 2 rear play 1 speakers. But my Smart TV does not support eARC and atmos. Should I upgrade to Sonos Arc for better sound? Or the current setup does not justify for the expensive price of Sonos Arc since I have the Sub and rear speakers and the TV does not support eARC and Atmos.
I need some assistance in figuring out which products I need, in order to do what I want to do. Layout: I have 2 rooms on opposite sides of the house, that both have TVs separated by a dining room in between. I would like to be able to to play the same music in all 3 rooms(2 dens, 1 dining room) if necessary, however also be able to have the option to have just the dining and 1 den continue to play music while another room is playing sound from the TV. I assume I need 2 “Beams” and then a few play 1s but it is unclear to me. Any guidance would be much appreciated!
The LG OLED audio passthrough has been pretty well discussed on this forum. I’ve also had similar issues with other TV’s on non-Sonos audio equipment, so this seems to be a big issue among television manufacturers. This wasn’t an issue when everybody went through a home theater receiver, but now that cord cutting is common and there are fewer devices involved, this is becoming an issue. HDMI-ARC was supposed to solve this, but it just seemed to introduce another point of delay. I’m familiar with the hdmi/optical splitter workaround and would be willing to use it if all else fails. I have two rooms, one with a Beam and one with a Playbar. The TV’s in both rooms are very, very old and in need of replacement. It sounds like LG’s of any year and some Samsung’s introduce delays when passing through advanced 5.1 audio. Are there any TV’s that do a good job of optical pass through or HDMI-ARC?
I keep seeing the crossfade option when messing around the settings on the Sonos App. What exactly does it do and when do I use it?
Hello….2 questions. I would like to use the AMP with either the Acoustic Landscape AS4.1 system or Sonance LS4T x 4 + Sonance LS12T x 1 SUB. It looks like both are 8 ohms systems so fine there. Would like some input on how to wire and how many speakers can be supported by a single AMP if I wanted to use 8 satelite speakers instead of 4. Any advice on whether to go with Acoustic or Sonance. Thank you, Ken
All of a sudden I’m no longer able to rearrange the songs in queue from my iPhone or iPad. I’m able to add songs from my library and select “add to end of queue” or “play next”, but once they are added, I’m unable to adjust the order. Normally I can tap and hold a song and move it up or down in the queue, that option is gone - all I can do is delete songs. :( My Sonos and iOS software are both up to date. I am still able to rearrange songs on my Mac but it was so convenient to be able to do it from my phone - this was one of my favorite features of the Sonos app. Am I missing something?
Has anyone found a fix to display the volume level on Samsung series 7 tv
I know different versions of this question have already been asked, but I wanted to ask the community about my specific situation. I pre-ordered the Arc 5.1 system which I plan to plug into a Samsung J6300 (2015, HDMI ARC only) TV which streams video from an Apple TV HD (non-4K). The user manual for my TV says it supports Dolby Digital Plus through ARC. Can you presume what level of audio will be playing through my home theater setup? EDIT: for clarification, will the Arc be playing Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus, or just Dolby Digital 5.1?
How does an ARC + 2 Play 1’s compare to a traditional 5.1 setup? My TV’s HDMI-ARC does not support Dolby ATMOS, so I am limited to Dolby Digital.
Hello. I’m having the same issue as the original poster (OP) on this page: https://en.community.sonos.com/components-228996/how-does-autoplay-on-new-sonos-amp-work-6816973 I would have posted my concern on that thread but since it was locked, I had no choice but to make a new thread. My issue is as follows: I am using the new Sonos Amp. I have the audio from my Samsung TV (Q8FN) going back to the Sonos Amp via the ARC on the hdmi cable connected to the rear of the Sonos Amp. I also have a different source connected via RCA line in on the rear of the Sonos Amp. While the TV is on the audio plays without issue. Also while the TV is on, I am not able to hear the line in source (which happens to be an amazon echo dot). Although I would prefer to have more options/flexibility in the settings (more on this later), I do understand that while the TV is on, the Amp should prioritize the TV audio over the line in audio. However, my issue is that when the TV is powered off, and there is no au
Hi. I froze my Sonos system at 8.4 in order to preserve my CR100’s. I am about to buy 2 second hand ZP120’s to add to the system. I suspect that I can only link them if my entire system is running the same firmware, and the ones I am going to purchase are running the latest firmware. I’ve read that I need to do a factory reset on the new units then add them as new units. I also know that updating the existing units will brick the CR100s. The question is: What will happen to my Sonos playlists during the update process - will they be preserved?
How do i connect my Sonos One to VIZIO TV…. I just got my Sonos and i’m not good on how to use it . I download a few apps such as Amazon Alexa, Amazon Sonos and Sonos….
Could anyone tell me how many Bowers & Wilkins AM1 outdoor speakers I can run on the Sonos AMP? I currently have 2 x B&W AM1 speakers running on 1 x Sonos Connect AMP and another 2 x B&W AM1 speakers running on another 1 x Sonos Connect AMP for my outdoor area. I am trying to figure out if I will improve the sound quality if I upgraded to a Sonos AMP and ran all 4 speakers through that or alternatively if I bought 2 x Sonos AMP’s and ran each pair through them as I currently do with the Sonos Connect AMP’s. The B&W AM1 say that the recommenced amplifier power is 20-100W into 8 ohms. The nominal impedance is 8 ohms (5.2 ohms minimum). Thank you!! doug
Ordered on 16th may the whole 5.1.2 system and order status on my mobile shows back ordered and on my iPad it shows out of stock….is everyone getting it by 10th? seen some reviews on YouTube and can’t wait it to be in my hands lol
I have a Sonos Amp upstairs with speakers and Samsung TV downstairs. I cannot get the Sonos AMP near the TV so that I could connect it to the TV using HDMI. I am told that I would need wireless AV to connect my TV to Sonos. I do not know which wireless AV or the specifications that I should be looking for to connect to the TV? Or, are there any other options to connect?
Sonos Arc arriving today. How do i use it before release of S2 app?
Hi, I have the sonos beam connected to my tv sony AF8 on the hdmi arc port. But iam considering changing it to the optical audio output because i need the hdmi port to another hardware. My question is: Is big the difference between hdmi arc por vs optical audio output?
Currently I have a 4k firestick plugged into an HDMI extractor, which splits to an HDMI to my tv and optical cable to my playbar. This allows me to get DD5.1, as my tv doesn’t pass through DD5.1 through optical connection. Now on to the Arc. I am wondering if i simply swap the playbar with the arc, will i still get DD5.1 from the firestick? Doing a bunch of searches and i see that i simply can’t use an HDMI splitter to send an HDMI signal to my tv and the arc as the splitter won’t communicate with the HDMI-ARC input. Looking for some feedback on the below options: Use the same setup i have now and use the optical adapter with the arc. Only able to receive DD5.1, not Atmos and not sure if this is compatible? Is this worth the upgrade? Use the firestick with an HDMI EDID attached to my tv and then an HDMI cable from the HDMI-ARC to sonos arc (tv only supports Dolby Digital, not plus or higher so only 5.1 still), Will an HDMI EDID manager have any impact on the splitter being ab
Hi everyone, I have got 2 x pairs of sonos ceiling speakers and 1 x amp. One pair is outside and the other is above the kitchen. I know the Amp only provides one zone, but I need to find a way to have music playing from all 4 speakers then a way to turn 2 off (the ones outside) when I want. Is this link a possible solution? https://www.jaycar.com.au/high-power-two-way-stereo-speaker-switch/p/AC1401 How would you wire it? Any thoughts or help would be hugely appreciated! Thanks!
Hey, preordered the Arc and am excited. However, this might be the first Sonos product where I’ve seen “gaming” in the tagline, right there on the splash page for the product. The Beam doesn’t say this. So, knowing Sonos chooses their words carefully, here is the scenario many users are heading into: Currently, the Beam with my Gen 1 Ones and Gen 2 SUB on a latest gen Boost has a “barely acceptable” amount of lag with games. I play a few feet away from my Boost on WIFI, not ethernet. I’m on an OLED55CX (lowest input lag in the industry) with an Xbox One X. Games that target 60fps and therefore have low input lag have a noticeable sound delay on trigger pulls, not enough to truly annoy me, but let that slip in S2, or make zero improvement to it, and I would consider that a disappointment for a product also billed as a gaming device. Put on a headset, and the latency is eliminated of course. Questions: Are you improving latency in your stack with the ARC? How? Is it with S2 alone
Just taken delivery of a Move and am disappointed to find that the charger socket, charger base and cable are all hard wired together. I want to position the Move on some built-in desk furniture, where all the power sockets are located underneath, accessible through cutouts in the desk top. Problem is neither the charger socket nor the base will fit through the cutout, so I am going to have to run the cable across the desk. I realise I could probably use the USB-C charging point instead but then I’d lose the convenience of just being to pick up the Move and go when I want to take the music outside. Normal way round this sort of problem would be to cut off the moulded power plug and fit another one back after running the cable through the cutout, but the plug on the Move is integral with the charger. Since the charger base only has a two pin spring-loaded connection point to connect to the Move battery, my assumption is that the cable is ordinary twin core low voltage cable. Is the
I’d like to connect an internet music service live stream on my Macbook Pro laptop to my Sonos system. While Sonos does provide access to many internet streaming services, I have a subscription to Hearts of Space and so am not limited by predefined music that the service chooses to air through the Sonos arrangement. I can select anything from their entire library. Is is possible therefore to get the audio ouput from my Macbook Pro streamed to my Sonos system? Any help much appreciated!
