I understand how you can click on a link to an HLS stream from an Android phone, but I don't understand how you enter that address into the Sonos app to play over the Sonos speaker system. The only option to cast available on my phone is to my Sony Bravia TV as it doesn't identify the Sonos as an option. Can anyone tell me how to do this?Mark
Sonos Arc sounds great. Samsung TV shows the volume control as HDMI Receiver with just +|_. Is it possible to show the volume level? Is it annoying to check mobile app for volume level. Need a fix please.
I am reconfiguring my home/office which has a new 4k TV. I also have a couple of hardly used Play:1’s. If I buy a Beam to connect to the TV, does the beam connect to the Play:1’s for more surround sound in the same room? Thanks!
I tried playing a blu ray last night and it should have 5.1 audio output but the Sonos app said it was in Stereo 2.0. I tried changing the blu ray (PS4) players settings using the “options” button on the controller and changing from LPCM to bitstream but that didn’t work either… games give 5.1, Netflix via the TV gives Atmos etc… it’s just the blu ray discs via PS4 Pro… My TV is set to passthrough and PS4 (for games) to bitstream (dolby)… I connect the arc to the TV using eARC btw (not optical)… any help?
I have a Sonos One and a Sonos sound bar. They self -paired - without being asked. App is supposed to have unpair option. It does not. How do I unpair?
I have a Sonos Beam, and I have the audio hooked up from the optical out on my Samsung TV - through a Sonos optical to HDMI adapter. I would like to add a Sonos Sub and 2 rear Sonos One speakers to the system. Will this work with my current configuration?
I am considering upgrading my original Play 5 to the new version. Two questions: 1. Does the new play 5 have the same power plug as the original (my plug is plumbed into the wall so don’t want to have to change it); 2. Will the new play 5 still fit on the Flexon wall bracket I currently have. I’ve also hear the new play 5 is 5 lbs heavier so want to make sure the bracket will take the extra weight. Any information would be helpful. Thanks, Gary
How do I know if my arc is outputting atmos? I have seen videos that show that if you go to "now playing" in the app it says that its outputting atmos. I have tried several sources (disney+, prime and netflix) that say they are dolby vision and atmos. When I play them the TV says its displaying dolby vision but nothing comes up regarding the audio and nothing is displayed in the app to say its atmos. I am using the LG 2020 GX and connected into the hdmi e-arc output. I have also used the hdmi supplied with the arc and also one I bought separately that is meant to support hdmi 2.1.Is this an issue with the app (im using an android and i know that sonos don't support them as well as apple, but surly something as simple as if its playing atmos should work?) Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Can anyone tell me which current TVs are best suited for the Arc. I’ve read lots of posts elsewhere from customers who aren’t able to get Atmos as their TVs do not support Atmos Pass through.I won’t be using any in built apps as I am looking to connect the TV to an Xbox Series X, Apple TV 4K, and Chrome Cast with Google TV and use apps from those devices. I’ll also be using the Xbox for UHD Blu rays and would also want to pass through Atmos (True HD).
Hi I have just traded in my old Play:5 speaker, to get 30% off my Sonos Arc buy. As I understood it, I then had to recycle the old speaker. However, after an email I got from SONOS regarding the trade in program, they asked we what I would do with the old speaker, namely if I would hand it in to a SONOS store, recycle it, sell it or keep it. Have I completely misunderstood, can I actually keep my play:5 that I have traded in to get 30% off a new buy?
I have my 4th generation Apple TV connected to my LG OLED which is connected to my Sonos Arc. I’ve found that some content won’t play the center channel (example, certain shows recorded in Stereo are fine, but shows in 5.1 or greater do not play center audio but do play the left, rights, etc.). If I look at the app, it only recognizes stereo. This is the only device that has a problem - content streamed from the TV is fine. This seems to happen with anything mixed above stereo (5.1, atmos).
I would like to purchase a Five and wonder if it will align with 3 One SL that I have in 3 separate rooms, so that all of the 3 One SL and the Five will play the same music and be controlled by the Sonos app?
So frustrated to discover that now that itunes is gone I can’t use Sonos to access podcasts via the ios podcast app. I understand there are other podcast apps but I can’t seem to get any that work with my paid subscription podcast as easily as the ios one. What the hell Sonos?!?
I connected my ARC to my Sony TV (XBR-65X850D) via the HDMI4-Arc port. All functions great as long as the ARC is the only device connected to any HDMI input on the TV. The moment I connect my Apple TV / any other device to any other HDMI port, the ARC disconnects. I am not able to control it via my phone either. Once I unplug the other devices, the ARC reconnects and functions normally.Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue or what could be causing it?
I just bought the surround sound system with arc. The arc sound bar won’t connect to my tv sound. It only works for music right now. I have the sound settings changed to external speaker. The hdmi is plugged into the hdmi arc port and then into the sound bar. I went through the set up steps and when I test the connection it tells me “arc mode not connected”. I talked to someone at Best Buy they told me to change the settings on my arc to “arc” not “eArc”. Not sure where that setting is either.
Help! I've used my phone's volume controls for Sonos since I started using it about four years ago. Now the functionality has disappeared. I've not changed any settings. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Sonos app.I don't even see Sonos on my lockscreen any more.Anyone aware of an issue or is it a Google update messing with things?
Hello you guys, I’ll be setting up in my new house, a year from now, a sound Sistem and my research took me to Sonos,”. im thinking about a tv connected to the Arc and an amp powering 4 in ceiling speakers( I might also add an OneSl in the kitchen just to talk to Google home.the thing is: - does all them go along together? Can I have a surround system with the arc and in ceiling speakers? - do I get a true surround system with this configuration? - can i use the arc just for the tV and set up the in ceiling speakers for music at the same time? thank you in advance
I have seen that there are a lot of topic about chromecast but not an honest answer yet from Sonos Support. Chromecast built in support is without a doubt a must to be added ! You can do a lot of things with Airplay2, even watching that netflix series you love, but on Android/Pc/Chromebook nothing ! Chromecast will not only add something to Android heads, the possibilities with chromecast are beyond mobile phones ! Even Video beams come now with chromecast and android TV !
Hi there.Hope you can help with the question below.Situation: I’m thinking to buy the Sonos Arc. I am thinking to use it in the following structure: Connect my Apple TV 4K to my project BenQ projector via an HDMI cable for video output, and stream the audio via Airplay2 to the Sonos Arc. (Note: My projector does not have an earc, so am hoping the Airplay2 will suffice for audio output) Questions: (1) Will this above set-up work and, if so, will there be any audio lag/discrepancy with the visual?(2) How big a difference will the sound quality be in using AirPlay2 for audio output rather than HDMI earc. I read that Dolby Atmos only works with the cable through the arc.
I finally upgraded to S2. We have a Beam a new One and old Three. I’m finding connection is slower than it was. On Spotify, songs skip or are cut off and the iPad app sometimes shows something different to what is playing. Really unimpressed. I’ve deleted the app and tried again but similar story. Any thoughts anyone?
Will my gen 3 sub woofer connect with the play 1's and gen 1 soundbar?
Hi,I am currently using an Amp (the ‘new’ one) with a pair of B&W 706s2 at the front and Sonos One as rear speakers.I am looking to upgrade my amplification as the Amp isn't able to get the most out of my turntable and speakers potential for music playback. However, I wish to keep the Amp as I truly enjoy the HT convenience. Is there any possibility for me to add an extra 3rd party stereo amplifier into my system, through which I would be playing my music, while still using the Amp for TV? Of course without having to plug/unplug anything when swithing from music to TV.. Thank you for your ideas and suggestions,Cyril

I have Amazon Music Unlimited. When I search for music by artists either nothing or a subset of the available music is displayed. If I go to the Amazon Music App I can see the full amount. I would stream from my iPad but music playback from Sonos app on laptop normally is better with fewer drop outs than my iPad/iPhone. For example, I type Bob Marley and nothing shows.
