When Play:1 is turned up past half volume, the speaker buzzes during any bass, such as a bass guitar...tried resetting it, moving it to another location, unplugging power cord and reconnecting...still buzzes. Speaker is brand new, can I use the warranty for a new one?
Just set up my new Connect-Amp and as I've got loads of CDs I am looking for a small, stand alone, CD player to connect to. Similar proportions to the Amp would be good. Thanks.
Seems like an easy question. However, I can't clear a song (while on the controller) in the queue because the clear queue tab is grayed out. I think it's Tidal track from one of my kids phone. At the top where the pause, backward and forward buttons are there should be the possibility to add a Stop button and a clear song button. Has anyone ran across this? Thanks Darryl
I've had a working Sonos system for years, comprising of a sonos amp, a sonos connect, a sonos play:5 1st gen and a sonos play:5 2nd gen. The sonos connect uses a wired connection all the others are wireless. I have a sonos bridge wired to a Netgear router. All have worked perfectly until today and now I can't get anything to work, regardless of what I do. All Sonos apps (PC and Android mobile) are no longer seeing any of the wireless devices. I have rebooted the router (twice), rebooted the sonos bridge, tried hard wiring one of the sonos play:5's to my network, performing an update, but nothing seems to work. When updating the windows PC sonos app, the app ends with "Update problem - There was a problem during the update of your Sonos system. - Try again". That's just great!!!!! I have tried again many times, but nothing works! When I hard wired the sonos play:5 2nd gen to my network I was able to add it and then play music on it. When I removed the network connection i
Dear Community, Is any secret of connection PLAY-1 to WLC 5510 using CAPWAP. I made all steps according this link: https://en.community.sonos.com/setting-up-sonos-228990/sonos-with-cisco-aironet-access-points-32497 but no success. PLAY1 can't provision over CAPWAP WiFi net, timeout error. Seems like no traffic between PLAY1 and SONOS Controller via WLC.
Has anyone managed to get a similar colour match paint or pen to touch up scratches on the silver part on the playbar? Sonos tech team don't have any and suggested asking the community.
My objective is to achieve uncompressed music distribution from a CD player to 6 Sonos speakers, using an optical line-in. My CD player is connected via Toslink to my Playbar. My Playbar is grouped with my 6 Sonos P1's and P3's and I can hear music from each of those 6 speakers. Question 1: Is the Playbar is streaming uncompressed WAV files to the 6 speakers, or is it using the SBC codec to compress? Question 2: Within the app there is the option to select 'compressed' or 'uncompressed'. I would expect selecting 'uncompressed' to delay the sound approximately 2 seconds (as is the case using an analogue line-in to a Sonos connect). But this doesn't happen. The sound is either not delayed two seconds, or is equally delayed on 'uncompressed' or 'compressed' settings. Changing from 'c' to 'uc' makes no difference. Question 3: When pausing the source music on the CD player sound on all Sonos speakers stops immediately. When I unpause the CD player it takes about 2 seconds for soun
I currently have a Velodyne 12 inch sub SPL1200 II that I was thinking of using instead of a Sonos Sub. I would like to set up 2 more bookshelf speakers in my living room and was debating spending 1k on a Sonos Sub and play 1s or just re using my velodyne sub and Boston acoustic micro 90x by purchasing a connect amp at $500. The Velodyne brand new was about $2100 so I would like to use this. Any downside to adding these components to my existing Sonos environment or should I spend more $ and go with Sonos Sub and play 1s?
This may sound silly. Just installed a Sony 900e with Playbar and Sub. Can I listen to music with the TV monitor off? Not sure how to do that. Or can I listen to music sourced from Sonos with a screen saver on? FYI I also use an Apple TV and I know that I can use that to do what I want, but I want to know if I can do this solely with the Sonos. Thanks all.
Current set up Playbar Play1's and Sub. Can I add an additional pair of Play 1's to the above system in the same room to act as a stereo pair
I just given a SONOS Connect:AMP for music in my medium size living room and would appreciate your opinion about using Klipsch RP-150M or Definitive Tech D7 speakers with this? Your feedback would be appreciated. Thank you

What Sonos unit should I get without spending an arm and a leg for a shop that is rectangle, open, and about 1500 sq/ft?
I much prefer the physical buttons over the capacitive touch controls. Not so much an issue on Playbase but on the Sonos One. I have my One on top of my refrigerator. When I want to group it via the play/pause button with the Playbase, I have to look at the top of the One. With my Play 3, I can feel the buttons without looking and press the play/pause button to group it. Same thing with turning it up and down without the controller. I love the one button group feature for when I'm cooking and want to hear what's on the TV. The capacitive touch controls kinda defeat that function for me in the kitchen.
Am I correct in saying these "wireless" speakers do not work with being connected to the power cable?? Why does almost ever photo have them displayed in home / mounted on walls with NO power chord connected.
Hey guys, I am quite new here, so I still can't find my way around. However, I would like to turn the additional guest room I have into a home theater. Do you guys have any suggestions? I don't know where to start. I am simply standing in front of the room the whole day, staring at it and simply no ideas come to mind. 😃
Hi Guys, I am new to the Sonos community and have yet to buy any products because of recent doubts caused by a visit to a well known retailer. I won't mention their name. I have a question/problem that may be solved by Sonos or may not. I currently have a Cambridge Audio system comprising Amp azur 550A, AM/FM/DAB Tuner azur 650T and Compact Disc player azur 550C which has 4 wired Mission speakers in two rooms (2 in each) which utilises the A and B options of the Amp. I am very happy with the system and had a DAB aerial fitted some years ago to make good use of the DAB radio. However there are wires everywhere and I would like to be able to use the system with wireless speakers. Having looked at the Sonos systems and a previous similar query I thought Sonos would be the answer but the unnamed retailer confused the hell out of me talking about ins and outs and loops. I am not knowledgeable about these things but thought that a Sonos Connect and a Sonos speaker (one to start
I have lg c7 - playbase - shield tv - (trying to fully) control with harmony companion remote. All set up working with the remote, however, after a few minutes i can no longer adjust the tv volume with the harmony remote, the volume overlay appears but does nothing. If i then grab the lg 'magic' remote, volume works and also works on the harmomy remote but again, after a few mins i cant control volume with the harmony remote. Any solutions? Ive added the playbase to the harmony but cant assign playbase volume control to the shield tv activity.
Hi there, Loving my new Sonos play1, it works seamlessly with my iPhone, mac etc and means no faffing around. And most importantly, it sounds amazing. The OSX software is good, however it really needs to be updated for retina displays - it is quite badly fuzzy on my MacBook and just takes away from the glossiness the system has... I imagine this is going to be reported more now that the new iMacs are retina as well. Also, just a note that it really needs to access Spotify radio. Playlists are great, but I often list using the former.
Hi all, Currently I have my Sonos sub with a play:1 stereo pair in my man-cave. However, I am thinking of moving this back into my living room/dining room and replacing my man-cave setup with a connect and a pair of JBL LDR305’s. Any thoughts/opinions on my plan? Should I expect a drop/improvement or mearly a change in sound quality? Thanks!
I have the playbar, sub and 2 play 1's But not all content that will be played is already in the 5.1 dolby digital format Does the playbar do any sort of signal processing to simulate surround sound or are all the speakers just playing stereo out? Thanks
Coming from Winamp, I have to say there are a few small things that I find make a big difference in the control of my music. The one I'd like to mention here is "Stop after current" which does exactly what it says. That's a nice feature to have if I'm on my way out or just don't want the rest of the queue to kick in. As an aside, the queue resuming after I've picked a single song to play is actually really nice, IMO, but if I just didn't want it one time and I figure 'oh i'll just clear the queue and this will be the last track' but it stopped my music immediately. I don't really get that, I must say. The thing currently playing isn't IN a queue so why would it be dropped too? Like if you were waiting for a teller at a bank... when you're at the teller you're not also queued up, right?
Bought the play bar but the optical cable won't fit snuggly into its socket, it just (literally) falls out with gravity. It fits perfectly into the tv optical socket. And if I swap ends, the cord end that fit snug into the tv socket, is loose on the play bar and yet again it just falls out with gravity. Fix please? Sandra
I've seen the question asked as to what type of Ethernet Cable to use Cat 5e or Cat 6. The first criteria to understand is that Sonos Ethernet ports are 10/100 Mbps (100 Megabits per second). That is the speed at which information (signal) flows. Cat 5e Ethernet is capable of moving information up to 1000 Mbps (1 gigabit) and Cat 6 Ethernet at 10 Gbps (10 Gigabits per second). In the real world the theoretical speeds of Cat 5e and Cat 6 are affected by any number of factors which will limit those speeds to less than published. For the average consumer Cat 5e should be sufficient as the cable of choice. Cat 6 is most likely overkill; unless you are running an Enterprise Network which is more common in the business world. Another factor for choosing Cat 5e is that to date ISP's (at the consumer household level) offer nothing faster than 1 gigabit per second speed (1000 Mbps). In conclusion; for Sonos, all things being equal (brand and strand quality) Cat 6 Ethernet Cable exceeds
I am new to the Sonos world and am currently testing out a Sonos Play:1 before deciding whether to fully jump in with their system. If Sonos adds Chromecast support to its speakers such that various Sonos rooms become castable destinations natively from Android apps that are compatible with Chromecast, would this require a hardware or a software update? If it is a software update, I would have hope that this could be added to existing Sonos speakers and then I can go ahead and expand my system. If a hardware update is needed, I may hold off on purchasing speakers until this feature is added. I recognize that Chromecast compatibility has been discussed at length in these forums, but I have not seen an answer to this question yet.
