Hi, somehow the needle on my Pro Ject Essential III vinyl has come off. Can I replace just the needle or the whole component? Where might I buy? Is it difficult to reinstall? Thank you!
SONOS software was updating and then went haywire and crashed my network of 7 SONOS units. Asked me to sign in but wouldn't recognise my password. Message said to reinstall all units which I did and then found that all my playlists built up over years had disappeared. On checking the forums this has happened before so why haven't you got some sort of warning message flashing up telling us the risk before reinstalling? You know what the issue is but have ignored it. I also can't believe that you haven't come up with a cloud based backup solution to avoid this situation. It must be fairly simple to do a Dropbox solution. Your customer service and support is second to none but I feel like throwing the lot out of the window and starting again with units which have more reliable and less clunky software. Very very disappointed.
The Sonos Beam doesn't just receive HDMI signals, but sends them out too. This is evident by the fact if you select your source to the HDMI ARC connection the Beam is using, you get pre-designed patterns being sent as video to your TV. What if Sonos could update the speaker to display music covers, music videos, music details like; time, title, artist etc.? Short and sweet, but I think that would be awesome.
Hi! I have tried to find a solution to connect all my speakers: BEAM and two Play 1 speakers with my Apple TV 4th generation. At the moment when I stream and use my Apple TV the sound comes from the BEAM and not the other speakers. Anyone know a solution for this? Would like to use the whole surround sound system. Thanks in advance!!
can someone please just tell me which blu-ray play to buy that will output DD5.1 to my playbar. My only goal is to watch 4K Blu-ray movies in 5.1. i know this issue has been addressed ad nauseam but it seems the more i read the more confused i become. i've also purchased a litany of switches or converters. but according to the app none of them seem to output 5.1. please help. i currently have a playstation 3. does it have the capability? thanks in advance.
im off to Ibiza & would like to use my Sonos 1. The villa im renting has wi-fi throughout so am i right in thinking that i only need a different plug & everything will work as normal? Im not particularly tech-savvy so any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
I just picked up a set of Sonos one speakers slightly used for 200 bucks! These things are awesome! I had previously bought a play three but returned it due to the inferior sound quality and reading several times how people had said that two of the One’s should out perform a single play 3, and they have thus far. I want an additional speaker to use throughout the home I now have one set up in my dining room and the other in my kitchen, but I’m looking for one that I can move around from place to place and even outside from time to time. My conundrum is should I pick up an additional Sonos One for $167 on Amazon (open box), or something else? I would like to be able to move one of the Speakers around the house and possibly outside as needed and I could easily do this with one of the speakers that I already have. This being said I could also save up and pick up a Play 5 later on or I could get the open box deal now and at some point later pick up a fourth speaker of some type? If I go wi
How do we prevent Sonos Playbar from playing randomly in middle of night? There are no sonos alarms and no other speech devices connected to system. Only devices connected are TIVO, Samsung TV. I ran diagnostic and get #109374711.
Hi, Last year I bought myself a playbase and the subwoofer. Did everything very well but then suddenly after a phew months I started to get a cracking sound. Tried some settings with the tv which I found her on the forum. That didnt work... So I just restarted it a phew times. And suddenly it work fine again. But now a week ago it started again. Exactly the same problem... Do you have any help for this? My setup: Nvidia Shield Tv Surround: alway on Stereo upmix (upmix stereo streams to 5.1 pcm): on ->connected with hdmi to my tv Samung tv Model: UE48J6200AW Type No: UE48J6200 HDMI audio format: PCM Audio format: PCM Dolby digital Comp: RF ->connected with optical to playbase What I have tried: #Streamed directly to my tv (cutting off nvidia shield), still the same problem. #Played songs with spotify directly to the playbase with the sonos app. Normally that works but now it started cracking too. Which is very strange because I coul
I’ve heard the latest update takes away the ability for the Playbar to act as a stand-alone speaker. I have it connected directly to my tv for sound via optical cable. Will the update kill my setup?
I have a new Samsung TV, a pair of Klipsch RP280F Speakers and a new Sonos Connect Amp. I didn't do enough research and assumed multiple inputs that would work on the amp for 2 sources. Source 1: Sonos wifi, Source 2: TV. I like to watch concerts on the TV. Is this not the correct AMP for the speakers and TV combo?
I know there's a lot of these types of questions, but here goes... I have 2 Play:1s and a Beam in my house currently. I bought the Beam primarily to get Projector or laptop hooked up. I realize that the laptop setup would have challenges as there is no output to carry audio like ARC. The projector I am looking at, however, does have an HDMI ARC output. It's the XGIMI H1. Three questions...if I wire the HDMI out from the projector to the Beam, will I get sound without some sort of converter/TOS unit? Second, will that sound possibly be Dolby/Atmos/other hifi sound? Third, does the act of connecting the HDMI to the Beam then mean that the other speakers in my Sonos network can play the projector audio? thanks, John
I need some help with my brand new Sonos setup. I have a Beam and 2 Ones for surround sound. I have a LG E7P and I'm not getting surround sound from my Oppo UDP-203, only stereo. Everything is hooked up through HDMI and my Apple TV works just fine giving me 5.1 surround sound. I imagine the Oppo 203 must be popular, so I hope somebody can help me get surround sound. Any ideas?
Hi I have been using SONOS Playbar with my old TV for years - never had any issues. Recently, I bought a new TV (Philips POS9002). When I turn on the TV, the SONOS Playbar does not change to TV sound 😞. I haven't changed anything else and TV-Autoplay is enabled in the app. The Playbar is connected to the TV using optical toslink-cable. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? Thanks in advance. /Michael
After working my whole summer break I treated myself to a Beam with leftover money earnt. I play it through a Samsung mu6400 tv and absolutely love it, and wanted to connect up a vinyl player, most likely the Audio-Technica LP120. However, as a student my funds don't really cover purchasing a Connect box to work alongside it as well - and if I'm honest, despite knowing that their brand model depends on ensnaring customers into only buying their products, and despite my love for all the Sonos speakers, the somewhat extortionate price of the Connect leaves me with a very bad taste in my mouth for the company. I was wondering therefore if anyone has managed to devise any workarounds for inputting just a record player into my beloved Beam that doesn't cost nearly double what the vinyl player does - whether through adaptors to the optical input or through my television first.
I recently bought the Beam and frequently sharing anything worth noting or the problems I have encountered on this forum. Another issue I have found with the Beam worth noting is the audio/video sync issues through HDMI ARC (out of all the interfaces!) Optical works fine, but there's a flaw with some TV's passing Dolby Digital through HDMI ARC causing large (300-400ms) sync issues where the audio comes after the video. You'd think ARC fixes this... but it seems to have made things worse. Essentially, some TV's struggle to decode video and pass DD5.1 through in sync. My Sony 43XE7073 has this issue, but it's common with some people who have this issue with flagship TV's too. You'll find if you run audio in PCM or just stereo the issue is heavily remedied or gone. Something to do with the chip in modern TV's? Anyway, I use my Xbox One S for media and am now (unfortunately) using the Optical out as my TV doesn't have an option to disable audio in conjunction with the Beam a
I can play audible on my Sonos using my PC Sonos xontroller. However, audible books are not appearing in the Sonos app either in an android player or in my I-pad.
I just moved to a house that has speakercraft speakers in the ceiling and I know it was previously hooked up to sonos. The seller left me one of the amps and it is used to power the kitchen and living room speaker (2 speakers). I am very very new to sonos and AV. I attempted to do research and believe i wired it correctly, but I am getting poor sound quality. I know for a fact that just a few weeks ago, these speakers sounded amazing. This is what i did. For one speaker to put the green and black wire to the black connector on the amp and then the red and white wire to the red connector. For the other i did the same. Sound right? This sounds like a basic question but like i said, I am very new to this. Any help is appreciated. Photos attached
I’m turning my former home office into a den. I am currently running two wired bookshelf speakers off of a PS Audio Sprout, with a Connect into the Sprout’s digital input (the Connect will soon be repurposed for landscape speakers). I have a turntable connected to the Sprout. I’ll be adding a wall-mounted TV (with all my equipment in a media credenza below the TV) and had planned to add a Beam before Sonos announced the new Amp. Now I’m torn between two approaches: 1) Install a Beam with the TV and continue to run my turntable off of the Sprout with the wired speakers, or 2) Wait for the Amp, then connect the TV through HDMI ARC, and use the Sprout as a phono preamp/headphone amp. Appproach 2 seems much more streamlined (one amp for TV, streaming, and vinyl; existing speakers are used for music and TV; can still listen to turntable with headphones), but Approach 1 gives me built-in voice control and maybe a slightly better TV-watching experience (and saves 200 bucks). What would yo
Hi all There is a nice promotion in Italy this weekend of 18% discount on some Sonos, not the one but the play 1. Because it is very old hardware, so you think is still worth buying the Play1 or wait for a promotion on the one and do you think the one is better for the future? By now I am not very interested in smart functionalities, also because Alexa is still not present in Italy. I am afraid that the play 1 will soon lose value compared to the one. Anybody can help? Thank you Camillo
My Logitech My Harnony Remote has added control of SONOS to its capability. The problem is that my saved radio stations will not play, and many times they freeze the remote. This is a new capability to the remote, and I can't seem to get an answer as to how to fix it.
Having surrendered my music room I've just got into Sonos; I started with just the Sonos One until I read on this forum that a pair would give a half-decent stereo performance so I bought another One and paired them up. Still sounded a bit ' thin' to be honest so I went into Richer Sounds ( who were really good to deal with by the way) and after hearing a demo, bought the Sub to add a layer of depth. I am really impressed with the set-up now, it sounds very rich considering the size of the Ones. I didn't purchase the Sub for out-and- out loudness ( don't like loud music tbh) , the Sub does add a subtle depth to the presentation so I'm very happy. The million dollar question is whether, as funds permit, I move the Ones into other rooms around the house and replace them in the living room with a pair of 5's..........
So currently I have play 5s and just gotthe soundbar as well. looking to pick up a sub and another play 5 what are the watts of these speakers? looking for watts and Ohms for Sub and play 5's I ask customer support and am told public does not receive this kind of info...---well we better Im dropping serious coin. i just want to know
When a song comes on in the sonos app. It would be nice if I could "like" that song and have it auto added to a Spotify playlist. This feature exists inside the app "SoundHound". This would make it easy to save music that I like when it comes on especially if someone else is linked to the same speaker with their account. I'd like to save their song to my account.
I have a stereo pair of Play:5 gen2 speakers (stunning audio!) which are used for Apple TV 4K sound output via Airplay2. Randomly, the speakers will lose audio sync with the video, and the only way I have found to correct it is to go into the Apple TV audio settings, disconnect the Sonos speakers and reconnect them. It happens randomly, not all the time. Both Netflix and Amazon video have this problem. This is with the latest tvOS 11.x update. The Apple TV is set to never sleep. tvOS 12 is due very soon so I will see if that fixes the issue. The Play:5 speakers are connected to a Sonos boost AP and have static IPs assigned, so there is lots of available bandwidth. The Apple TV is connected to the same gigabit network switch as the Boost via Ethernet cable, not WiFi. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how the problem can be fixed?
