It all started with my sonos one not playing anymore... after multiple times trying to fix decided do disable the skill... worked for that one. However other speakers stopped working. I have 2 sonos1 speakers that were perfectly paired. One of them simply stopped. Tried even factory reset with the two sonos 1 players but pairing sinply doesn't work. Have now only one of them playing... please advise what else has to be done...
Hi there, the new API that was just announced is great! External apps/services (e.g. IFTTT) can be given access to my Sonos system: "This gives XXXX permission to: See what your Sonos is playing Change playback and volume on your Sonos Change your Sonos rooms and groups Play your Sonos favorites and playlists" But how do I revoke the access to my Sonos system when I no longer want IFTTT to access it? Kind regards, Klaas.
I have 2 houses.............. I have 2 complete Sonos systems.............. (Day 1) I am moving a pair of (1s) speakers to house 2 from house 1............no help from your web info on my laptop, or apple app on my phone !!!!!!!!! (Day 2) I have messed up my house 2 by adding only one off my (1) speakers from house 1 by pairing it to the wrong speaker in house 2. I am trying to add a new room for my new pair but you have no info on how to do that. Now I am going to start to delete speakers to try again. By (Day 3 ) this should be totally screwed up.............but I go on. I really could use some help. Please. Case #: 00271224
Lone Sonos One speaker paired properly with Playbar and Sony TV. Later, for some forgotten reason, I repeated the setup and added a "room" with another name -- but it's just a duplicate of the original room. But now, when I attempt to cast media to my television, Sonos defaults to this second "room" I created by mistake and only plays audio -- no television video. The simple fix would be to delete this added "room." But how? I see no delete option...
fios remote does not work on playbar unless within 5 feet..anyone recommend a universal remote?
Stumbled across odd behaviour, wonder if anyone else has seen this. I have 4 Sonos units, and everything up to date at v9.0.1. All my Sonos boxes are on and playing music. My iOS controller thinks I have 4 Sonos zones. My windows 10 desktop thinks I have 4 zones. My other windows 10 desktop thinks I have only 2 zones (but play/pause controls all the zones, even the ones it doesn't know about). I got into this situation by briefly switching off a Sonos box. I have gone through switching off everything, re-booting the router followed by turning on each zone. I reset the confused desktop controller app instance. I even reinstalled it, and it still sees a very different Sonos network from the one in my house. I assume it's not firewall-related as the controller app can control the Sonos. Any ideas for how to fix things?
Sonos was kind enough to replace my damaged sound bar, solid move by a solid company. After syncing up with the other speakers everything was fine, except, can no longer adjust SONOS volume with FIOS Universal Remote. Any solutions?
I have a new LG 4K TV with the magic remote. Can you please explain how to get the magic remote to operate the playbar and sub volumes and mute etc. Sonos is not even listed as a manufacturer in the LG's list of external devices (& believe me they appear to list everyone else). What's is going on here Sonos? This is really annoying and frustrating. And please don't even think about suggesting a Universal remote as an option.
Hey All, So I have the setup described in the title. I am trying to play videos from Plex that have DTS audio. I get no audio. I was able to get it to work by forcing the Roku to "stereo", but thats obviously not ideal. The Beam is connected to the TV via ARC and the streaming stick is plugged into one of the other HDMI ports. Thoughts? I tried to look through the plex settings on the roku to see if there was a way to force it to transcode, but couldn't find anything. -Eric
Hi, I can see my Sonos play 1 in the airplay device list on my iPhone. However Play 5 gen 2 is not visible in the device list. The Airplay 5 is installed wireless, just as the Play 1, and working. All speakers have the version 9 firmware. Play 1 is also visible in home app, play 5 is not. Does anyone else has this problem?
Sonos is a great wireless High Fidelity system. I own 9 units, representing almost every type of component they make, and have been enjoying music and radio feeds all along... until... Rev 5.0. Hate to say it, but they finally reached the "Peter Principal" of Product Design... now it has 99 number redial, 64 microwave settings and print the size of a cheap fortune cookie. All the while I just needed to reach my 6 closest friends, nuke a hotdog and find out what I needed to be doing "in bed" later tonight. I can no longer make my hearty recommendation to my fellow AARP members because they lost their easy-to-use edge with their hard to read, hard to navigate interface. The problem is not with the user, the issue is with the designers that are 20-somethings and still able to read the fine print on the bottom of the tequila bottle and have the manual dexterity and memory imbedded in youth. C'mon... am I alone in the woods on this one? Evidently, I'm told, that they prefer to
I want to have one desginated sonos controller that I can use to store all my music on and play music via compitable sonos apps (spotify etc) what is the best Tablet/Ipad to buy

I have a Play5 connected to my Samsung TV via line in...... The sound cuts out if the volume is turned down very low via the TV. Cant have the TV volume below 4..... Normal volume returns when I turn the TV up again. I can work around this by leaving the TV volume High, and then turning the SONOS volume down to the level I want No problems with cut outs at low volume when streaming music.. I'm not a electronic wiz, but I'm thinking that the TV pumps out less current or voltage through the audio line out at low volume. And that the SONOS line in needs a specific current or voltage for it to detect audio is being played....Please correct me.... Is there a way for me to get SONOS to play the audio from my TV at very low volume????? Cheers
Saw this in a previous string. My Play1 won’t stream music from my phone playlists with the buffering warning. In-wall speakers connected to amps work fine. My diagnostic number is 1855546344
63741391 diagnostics I keep getting this message when I try to complete the prompted update. I’ve rebooted each speaker, Connect Amp, Bridge, modem and router. I’ve had the same setup for years and nothing has recently changed. Please help!

I have just spent all afternoon trying to get my Sonos Beam to receive audio from my TV. I have a samsung smart tv (ue40es5500), panasonic (tx-l24x5b) and panasonic (txp42gt508) these tvs are a bit old so they do not have an ARC connection however I was going to connect via optical using the supplied lead i have tried adjusting various settings on tge tvs samsung enabling the link feature and enablinh the external speaker settings and on the panasonic tvs selecting the optical inputs however this does not resolve the issue and on the setup when i select optical setup it is unable to find a signal for the TV. The beam cam play sound from the radio services so is connected to my network ok. Am i missing an important step? I also tried hooking it up to the optical port of my xbox one however that failed to output any sound to the bar either and i changed the audio settings. I am thinking i must have a defective optical to hdmi cable. Any suggestions? I have also tried turning vol
I'm thinking of replacing my old/slow unmanaged switch to which I connect my two Play:5s so I'm looking for a recommendation. Briefly, my setup is as follows: BT HomeHub 5 Unmanaged 100BaseT switch connected to HH5 and the following connected to the switch - two Play:3s, in stereo - macMini - DVD Player Also wired directly to HH5 are - NowTV box - BT TV box On the wifi - one Play:1 in kitchen - one Play:1 upstairs - a variety of MacBook Pros and iPhones I've read various posts in the past talking about managed switches, VLANs (especially where NowTV is involved), etc so I'm curious as to what the current advice is. Would anyone please recommend a managed switch for me? I'd also need to know whether there is any specific settings I need with respect to getting my Sonos to work optimally with it. I know Curry's (in the UK) sell the TP-LINK TL-SG105E for £25 - so I'm imagining something like that. Annoyingly, that switch has the ports and power socket on opposite s
My playbar has been dropping my TV audio. It has been doing it today all day. I have also tried to play Pandora and I get no sound. The speakers grouped with it will play the TV audio. My diagnostic number is 126502693. Please help. I am about to get a center channel for another room and I can’t justify a Sonos if I can’t fix these issues.
I'm in the market for a Sonos Playbar, or new Beam. I already have a few of the Sonos One's (meaning Alexa is already built in). So I'm wondering - with the Playbar and 2x Ones, will it work in the same way at the Beam in that I can ask Alexa do put some music on and she will do it across both Ones and the Playbar? Therefore meaning I don't need the Beam for Alexa functionality. In the grand scheme of things, £200 extra for the Playbar isn't that big of a problem - I'll be hoping to keep the Playbar for some time anyway so the price per day (of use) is actually pretty cheap. Main things pushing me towards the Beam at the minute are; 1: The Beam is brand new - meaning it has the latest technology and therefore more longevity (Maybe!)? 2: Its cheaper - I have a large front room and maybe it'll do the job I ask of it anyway? 3: I'm worried that the Playbar will be end of life soon with it being such an "old" product? So price isn't the issue. I reckon Playbar will be louder
Hi, I've just bought a new Sonos Beam and in the main I'm very happy. However, lip others on here I'm having issues with lynching - i have a Sony Bravia TV, a Sony S380 Blu-ray Player and a Sky Q box (UK). I don't have any problems when watching TV or movies through the Sky Q box - only when i watch a movie via the Blu-ray player. I tried the setting on the app but it only seemed to make it worse. Any ideas?
I currently have a single Play 5 in my living room but am thinking of buying either a Beam or Playbar (and probably adding a couple of surround Play 1s in the future). Quality of music playback e.g. music Blurays, etc. is more important to me than the quality of movie soundtracks. How does the quality of music playback from either of the bars compare to a Play 5? Would I need to add a sub to get the same level of bass as a Play 5? Any feedback would be appreciated.
I’m looking to create a 5.1 system with what I already have “playbsae and two play 1” by adding two play 3 as the rears. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I had to update the Sonos Android app from 9.0 to 9.1 on a Kindle Fire HD 8 Kids edition (OS version 5.6.2.0) as the Sonos app told to do so in order to work. First the update did not really work (not sure if the OS or the app was the culprit). I had to manually uninstall and reinstall it. After some hassle it worked with the parents account. When sharing this app with the kids account it appears on the screen but it does not work / launch anymore. As the app seems to have the need to get more permissions with the update which might be a thing. The question is: did anyone experience this behavior as well? Is it a known issue? Is there a workaround? Any other app that is shared does work properly just not the Sonos one. Thanks for any answers!
