Hi. I have just bought an Arc which is grouped with my Sub and 2 Ones. All connected to my Sony AG9. I use the Sonos system for movies and music most of the time. While watching tv (news, etc) I sometimes have music playing and would like to be able to get sound from my tv speakers. However, the sonos audio set up always overides the tv choice and I am unable to do either thing: I can’t have music playing on sonos and watch tv with sound and I can’t simply use my tv speakers. Is this normal? The Ag9 sound is more than enough to watch the news and I would like to be able to have music playing at the same time. The automatic overide makes no sense....
I have the sonos app on my phone and the volume control stays on my home page all the time and it is using my iPhone power. How can I turn it of thanks liz
Hello everyone,I'm desperately trying to connect my arc to my Freesat 4k box, which is made by Arris. Although this box has only just come onto the market, I don't think it has CEC implementation.I bought an Arcana because I want the best sound possible from the arc. Here's the problem: every time I try to use the setup app I run into a brick wall with the message, "CEC not connected", and there is no option to move on beyond that point.I could happily live without CEC, and I really want to hear the arc in action, so does anyone have any suggestions, (I would rather not connect using the optical adapter because that means losing sound quality).Thank you for your time,Dom.By the way, all cables are brand-new HDMI 2.1
Hi guys. When playing music via a play1,, if I also select the arc (with attached SLs as surrounds) I only get the music from the play1 and the arc.If I unpair the surrounds from the arc then I'll get music from the SLs. Am I missing something
I often watch «Podcast» style youtube videos on my TV with ARC and I want to play the sound on all Sonos speakers. However it seems it uses direct connection when doing so rather than WIFI? Because a speaker (IKEA Symfonisk in this case) which is far from the ARC have big problems with the sound constantly skipping when doing so. All speakers have strong WIFI and no problems when using the App.Is there anything I can do to make this work better?
Hi! So I currently have a Sonos Surround set up for my tv in the living room, consisting of two One SLs, Arc, and a Sub, which are great. But I was thinking that maybe it would be beneficial to purchase a single Play Five (pared with my Sub) to use strictly for music in that same room. Mind you I live in a one bedroom apartment In Charlotte, NC. It’s not a closet by any means. It’s an average size for an apartment in NC at the price I pay, which is a little over 1000. Is that practical? Does it make sense to have a Play 5 to use strictly for music playback while the surround system is dedicated to tv and movies? I would also like to hook a Play Five up to a CD Player in the near future via Line In.
I am not getting any surround sound from my new Chromecast with Google TV (CCGTV).Its plugged in a Samsung TV. Sonos Beam connected via HDMI ARC.The CCGTV audio settings are set to Auto: Dolby Digital or Manual: Dolby Digital (tried both)The Samsung TV audio settings are Bitstream - PCM (Dolby Digital and DTS greyed out, not available)My TV is playing stereo 2.0 PCM only. The Sonos app only shows stereo 2.0 PCM. My PS4 is in another HDMI input, set to Bitstream-Dolby Digital. The Samsung TV audio settings are Bitstream - Dolby (here Dolby is available)My Sonos is receving a Dolby 5.1 signal, the Sonos app shows Dolby Digital 5.1 from the PS4.So the TV can passthrough Dolby 5.1. Is the CCGTV not outputting the right format? Can someone assist me to find a solution?
Wie kann ich einen Plattenspieler, gerne auch von Sonos, in mein System mit Playbar einbinden???
If I buy a pair of the new Fives, do I still need a Sub? I see the Fives have 3 woofers? I suspect the Sub will improve the overall sound but I’m keen for any experience from the community.
I am unable to control my Playbar via my Samsung smart remote (BN59 01312R supplied with 2019 Frame TV) using infrared. My Samsung One Connect box (also supplied with the TV) is hidden in a draw, but does allow the remote to operate the playbar when in the open, presumably via RF/Bluetooth. I have been able to set up my Sky Q box to function in this way, which also uses IR, and the other remote supplied with the TV (bn59 01175Q) also works, again using IR. I’ve read multiple articles on this topic both on the Sonos support pages and more broadly, and while I see plenty of guidance relating to the Samsung One remote (none of which has remedied the issue) I don’t see any pertaining to my own remote (BN59 01312R). Any support would be much appreciated! Thanks Gareth
Hi, I’m looking to buy a few sonos one’s and maybe a sonos’s beam but would really like to save a few quid and get them certified refurbished from sonos as I have no problem with a used device. I was just wondering how regularly are the refurbished speakers restocked? and how quickly do they sell out?
This has been an issue for me since the release of the playbar, and is still a problem today with the Arc.The SUB should have separate level settings for TV and Music just like the surrounds do.Ideally we would have separate EQ settings as well.Movies have way too much base and my kids aren't old enough to understand how to use the app to adjust the bass levels.
Hi All,I recently got the Arc and Subwoofer. I’m looking for some recommendations on a new power surge protector.
Hi thereI know that it is possible to disable the volume control via the touch controls on the devices themselves, but I am actually looking for the opposite solution. Here is the thing: I have Sonos players all around my house, including in the restrooms. Come party time, I group all players to play the same music. During the night, the group volume will be changed up and down depending on the mood. However, I would like the volume of the players in the restrooms (and a few other zones) to stay constant. They should basically play all night with the same (low) volume, and it should only be possible to change the volume via the physical buttons (typically once and for all before the guests arrive). All the other zones should be able to be controlled by the app as usual. Is this possible? I think it would be a very useful feature.Thanx in advance for any suggestions/help :-)Best regards,Jørgen
Is my tv compatible for the home theater with the arc bar?
Over the last couple of months I have been creating a playlist on the Sonos app, from my music library on my iphone, without any problems.Suddenly just after Christmas I could no longer find the playlist on my phone or my ipad, which are both running the new app.Today I updated the app on my windows 10 PC and the playlist was there, but still not on the ios devices.I added the playlist to Favourites on the PC app and it then appeared on my ipad app, but still not on the iphone app.Has anybody else had similar problems, or am I missing something?
Is it true that subscribing to Tidal’s more expensive stream is a waste of money because my Sonos Port at S2 cannot handle 24 bit or MQA streams? thanks
Hi. I'd like to get a Sonos Arc. I currently have my LG TV connected to my Denon avr. I have my Sky, BTtv and XBox all connected to my Denon. This enables me to get Dolby Atmos through speakers attached to my Denon. If I get a Sonos Arc can I go from my current setup on my Denon into the Sonos Arc then out into my LG (or some similar setup) and get Atmos through the Sonos AND Denon avr and speakers at the same time? Don't know why but just think I'd like to keep my speakers as they are whilst also having the Sonos Arc. Am I being daft thinking like this? Cheers in advance.
I have a Play:1 and Play:5 (Gen 1). I’m thinking of getting a Sonos Beam and wanted to understand if the Beam would group to the Play:1 and Play:5 (Gen 1)? I can’t think to find confirmation of this functionality on the Sonos site.
I have a connect amp in my 2nd floor bedroom that runs from the floor outside into the outside of our house to house 2 Sonance speakers for our pool area.I was looking at wireless (Bluetooth) enabled subwoofers like the OSD outdoor Bluetooth subs since I do not want to hire someone to run speaker wire again from my bedroom to the outside. Can a non-Sonos outdoor Bluetooth sub be connected to my existing Sonos system? Thanks!
Hi,Anyone know if sonos are planning to add the feature of adding a second sub to the same room?I know that it's possible to add the second sub to another room and group play. But then i lose my sourround setup. The ability to use two subs in one room would be a great feature. The use of two subwoofers in one room has been a trend in high end home audio for the past few years.Sonos, please add this feature - I am ready to add a two sub system right now !
I have a Sonos amp hardwired to two inside speakers. If I add a second amp to control two hardwired outside speakers will the app allow streaming the same music at the same time on both amps?
Just this morning on my new laptop I downloaded the Windows desktop app. This seems to have caused an issue with my system that was working ‘fine’ with the S1 app. Now 4 out of 5 of my rooms are showing Incompatible as an issue. I then try and update and I get Error code 9. I do not want to remove 4 rooms and reinstall - mainly because it is a major faff - especially setting up Alexa again. Any advice would be welcomed.
For anyone who uses the Symfonisk lamp as a pseudo-alarm clock: can any of the physical controls on the lamp function as a snooze button for an alarm that’s programmed via S2? Or is snooze only possible using the app?Side question: I can’t figure out how the speaker is configured behind the mesh of the lamp. Is there a proper “front” to the speaker (relative to the on-off switch for the lamp)?
Have Beam connected to TV thru ARCCan I add 2 Homepod Mini’s to the “Family Room” for surround sound sound instead of One’s?
