I set up my brand new Samsung 2020 Frame tv and brand new Sonos Arc and Gen3 sub three weeks ago and I can’t get the arc to stay on properly using the HDMI eArc inputs. It randomly will stop working and sometimes sound will go off for just a second, then back on again. Unplugging the arc, cycling the inputs on the TV, or going into the expert sound settings on the TV and toggling some buttons does get the sound working again- but who wants to do that sometimes 5 times an hour? It appears to me that the Samsung TV intermittently has trouble recognizing the arc. When in the expert sound setting and watching the connections- the TV will sometimes toggle between HDMI and HDMI e-Arc. It has been so frustrating that I have just started leaving the arc turned off and use just the TV volume. I have read all of the online answers that have been posted and tried all the suggestions. Just to clarify:This issue has not been resolved. Updates from Samsung and Sonos have not yet fixed the issu
Can I purchase any fibre optic cable for my playbar? I need something longer.
Just moved from a Buffallo NAS to a My Cloud Duo. I want to attach My Cloud as a NAS rather than as a Service so that I can continue to see my album art work, etc.. The My Cloud shows as Z: but I cannot get the Sonos app to accept this. Any help welcome.ThanksPaul Hugh
I’m putting together a new Sonos system for home theater and music on a budget. I currently have an old but high-end receiver, front L/R and front center speakers. I would like to create a Sonos system that incorporates two wireless Sonos speakers (Most likely Sonos One or Symfonisk Bookshelf) as wireless rears for a 5.0 or 4.0 set up. I know that I can replace my receiver and fronts with an Arc or Beam. Do I have any other options for the front speakers if I want to use some combination of my existing equipment to create a surround system? For example, would any of the combinations below work for surround sound? Sonos Connect (Gen 2) or Port → Receiver → Front L/R/Center + Rear L/R Sonos One Sonos Amp → Front L/R + Rear L/R Sonos OneThank you!
Hi everyone. I’m logged into my Sonos account with no problems, but no one else in my home can use their own logins on the service. Only my account is recognised. Is there anything we can do? Not even getting a drop down to see other Spotify (for example) accounts. In addition no one else can add their Spotify or other accounts on their devices because the Sonos app demands that they sign in with my Sonos account first. Surely it’s not supposed to work like this?
I have my Samsung TV connected directly to my arc via optical cable. Can I use the TV as a sound input to my other Sonos speakers (and port/amp locations) that are spread throughout the house so that I can listen to one TV everywhere in my home?
I have a Sonance DAB1 Distributed Audio system in my house. This is the type of system that has a control panel (wired remote) on the wall in each room that has built in speakers that allow you to turn that room sound on/off, change the source, and change the volume. The system also has a main controller (think large amplifier that allows for system programing) that runs the system.I’d like to convert the speakers in this system to sonos, but I don’t know if this is possible and what it would take to do it. Ideally I’d be able to remove the DAB1 controller and use Sonos Amp or something like that to control each pair of speakers, I just don’t know if this is possible since there are control panels for each pair that currently control them.
Hi, I haven’t seen a recent post on the topic. Can audiobooks purchased through Apple Books be played on Sonos?
Can I play vinyl on a Bluetooth enabled turntable and a Sonos Move?
I have a Connect Amp and 4 arch. speakers.this will go into two patio areas, and i want to wire them through a zone selector switch (passive), 8 ohm impedance supported on the selector switch (100w per channel)is this a valid config to wire them into two zones and you can select where to play the music this way ?Thoughts ? gotchas?
How do I connect a wireless mic to my sonos system? I have Sonos Play 1
In need of a solution to creating a 5.0 system with my current equipment. I have a Samsung TV with no HDMI ARC supported. It has two HDMI ports ( currently taken by cable box and apple tv) and an Digital Audio Out port. Also currently have 1 sonos Amp and purchased a sonos beam. Im looking to have beam play Front L+C+R and the sonos amp power the in ceiling rears for surround. Is this possible, do I need any type of splitters / extractors?
Hi there,I’m considering puchasing / connecting a Sonos Port to a Denon AVR2700h 5.1.2 set up (to connect the TV speakes with the rest of the house driven by a couple of Sonos Amps). I’ve not bought any of this equipment and a bit of noob so just wondering:I assume the Sonos Amps need to stay on all the time to receive signal from the App? Is that the same for the Sonos Port? And then again for the Denon? Or do they all stay on “standby” until I use the Sonos App? Most importantly: if they are on standby, will the Sonos Port be able to “wake” the Denon? If not, is there another way of doing this? Many thanks
RESOLVED_________________________________________Hi all,I am fairly new to Sonos. I have got a move that works flawless and now i invested in the Arc.After connecting the Arc to my TV which was easy peasy, i find that when the TV is shut off the Arc is no longer visible on the Sonos app or in Spotify. So unless the TV is on i cannot use the Arc to playing music. What am i doing wrong here ? is it that the Arc cannot work without the TV being on or am i missing something.Hoping you can help.Kind regardsCarsten
have wired speakers on upper and lower patio connected to anthem avm60. Have sonos port. Would like to know if port could control the volumn fron sonos app? Will i need 2 ports to control volumn on each patio? Will phone app allow this?
While the sub does work when paired to my One located in my office, when I try to pair it with the ARC in living room, it shows (Living room - ARC + sub) but does not work. I’ve reset it, hard wired it, tried to hard wired the ARC and all results are the same...sub plays when switched to office but not playing with ARC in living room, for which it was intended to do. Please asssist
Just picked up the ARC for a new home we’re moving into soon and I’m seeing all kinds of major issues with sound skipping out using the ARC soundbar and a Samsung Frame TV. We were really wanting the Frame TV in the family room but not if there are ongoing issues. Has this issue actually been resolved or is it still a s*** show? *Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the community guidelines.*
How come the choice of the type of music has disapeared in the latest update ? when you go to explore, all the playlists are jumbled together, so if you are in a classical mood vs a blues mood, you’re f...ked….
I have the ARC and a pair of Play:1’s as surrounds. ARC is connected to my Samsung QE65Q8FAM arc port. I am able to see Dolby ATMOS in the S2 app when watching ATMOS enabled movies from my Sky Q UHD. However when I playback a Dolby test tones file the height speakers sound come out of the Play:1 surrounds not the ARC bar. When I disable the surrounds then the sound comes out the ARC. Is this normal or is there an issue here?
Anyone have an idea how to stop the pop-up window from showing up on the computer when using the controller on a Mac? I checked preferences. It’s very annoying. There does not seem to be a way to stop it form happening or even close it. You just have to wait until it closes on it’s own.Any thoughts?
Will it work? Or do I need an amp for sub before I connect it through arc? thanks
Hi,I’ve a ZP80 that I’ve kept around to use the line-in input for a turntable. I have not used this for a while, (and it worked perfectly in the past), but when I try to use it now it does not work, I can’t get audio from the ZP80 tline-in o other Sonos speakers in the house. The ZP80 is showing that Line-in is connected, but no audio. Thanks,Ian
I recently refurbed my kitchen/dinner. As per diagram I am having real difficulty with getting enough sound from the in ceiling speakers to reach my seating area, which is around 8 metres from the TV (65inch).The in ceiling speakers give perfect sound but not to my seating position.I have play one either side of the seating area, to provide the surround side, but normal TV dialogue sound doesn’t come out from these, unless its music, or in 5.1, even then it’s very limitedI think I should have positioned the ceiling speakers above the seating area - but I haven’tIdeally I want the tv sound to come from the play ones, as I can’t move the ceiling speakers. Is this possible? or any other solutions much appreciated. If I turn sonos off and use the TVs internal speakers the sound is adequate, but this defeats the objective of having the system in the first place. Thank you in advance.
I see that similar questions have been asked in the past, but I’m wondering if there is any update. I own a few houses, each has multi zone Levitan audio systems in them which I hate. I would love to replace my 12 zone and 16 zone house systems with a similar Sonos system without having to buy 30+ connect amps. Are you developing a multi zone system, or is one of your partners developing a Sonos compatible multi zone system?
i have four architectural speakers that i am planning to hang them facing down from the ceiling - on the rafters of this covered patio. there will be 4 speakers for a total coverage of 330 sq ft (rectangular 12ft x 33 ft ) sized patio. Is this a good orientation for these speakers ?
